It was scenic, there's lots of different lakes that dot the area. It's really pretty. People come here for boating, swimming, and hiking up to the waterfalls. Theres also water sports and camping in the summer months.

There are 3 trail options, the longest one 2 1/4 miles. Tip: do watch out for goose droppings as they can be found on the walkways from time to time.

I know it's free and I shouldn't complain about it since it's free, but I mean come on. You already destroyed kids kingdom and how big and beautiful the play structure was. Might as well ruin the water area too. It would also be nice if they posted some kind of reminder somewhere in the park so people knew. We noticed a lot of bikers right away, which was neat to see other people and that it wasn't too secluded. I took my son in the stroller, and I would say it was not stroller friendly. There is a ton of rocks, sticks, branches, tree trunks and root systems all over the actual trail you walk on, which were beautiful to look at- but not as enjoyable to steer around.

It is the highlight of any trip to this area. There is also an animal show. I suspect it is directed towards kids than adults. However, I did learn some facts about animals and I did enjoy the show. A fox jumped. Birds flew freely. And I was thrilled when Spike the porcupine stopped and sniffed my foot If you were terrified by the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" the lorikeet enclosure might not be the place for you. For an extra dollar you can purchase a cup of nectar. The birds will land on your arms and head just to drink from the cup in your hand. These birds are beautiful. They are also fearless when they realize you have nectar in your hands. The butterflies like it when it is warm. This year I had to go twice, the 109 degree days were even too hot for butterflies. The animal show had to go inside, it was just too hot for them to show off. The lorikeets did not seem to mind the heat at all.
