I would give 0 stars if I could. I received a bill in November 2023 for more that $300, for an exam that supposedly happened in March 2023 at the West Anaheim Medical Center. I was seen at WAMC in May 2022. I tried calling the number on the bill, but got a recording, with no option to speak with a human. I tried logging in to the website on the bill, but couldn't. The phone number for Anderson Perry Sharzer is the WAMC. This looks very suspicious to me. read more

More than a year since my daughter went to West Anaheim ER, and I never got a bill for his services. The ER bill was paid. Then I get a call from a collection agency for a bill that was paid by my very expensive BLUE SHIELD plan. This affects my credit! And how do you get a hold of this guy? I see I'm not the only one. We didn't chose him, the ER uses his services apparently and they don't ask, don't tell...it's just all a big surprise. My bill was sent directly to a collection agency and I had no idea I even had an overdue bill. I went to the emergency room at La Palma Intercommunity Hospital for a medical emergency. I received an additional bill from Anderson, Perry, Sharzer, Inc. I thought I had settled all my bills directly and through insurance. However, I received a notice from a collection agency that I had an unpaid bill, yet I had never received notice from Anderson, Perry, Sharzer, Inc. in the mail. Also, I had checked on their online billing site to make sure I didn't have any outstanding bills and it said $0 balance. When I called them, they couldn't tell me why they sent my account to collections. They said the online system was not correct and they would send my file to an internal review department. When I asked to speak to them, they said they don't have the contact information for that department. I also asked to speak to the manager who placed me on hold for along time and then hung up the line. read more

Not sure how the service was, I can't ask my deceased grandmother, but when trying to reach out to collection agency to pay I asked for a service date and they would not give to me until I sent power of attorney info. With all the scams we have received since my grandmother passed that will not be one of the things I will be sending to a company where we can not even find an office for the doctor. I'm wondering if the service ever happened or if it's real. Customers service had the nerve to tell me I'm defensive. Of course I'm being skeptical, if we sent money to everyone who claimed we owed them money without verification we'd have financed half the crooks in the world. They sent my mom to collections over a bill she never even received. This is extremely shady. Not sure if the one to blame is the corporation Sharzer is a part of officially called "John P. Anderson, M.D., Russel M Perry M.D. and Mark A. Sharzer M.D., A Medical Corporation" or just Sharzer's billing team. This should not be allowed and I will be reporting this fraudulent business and doctor to every single agency possible. I did not like the service south coast global medical because work with this group and in addition charge different bills for any of the things they did on the hospital and when I went there to pay they didn't know what is the total because each charge you appart a different quantity. The hospital manager told me crme will charge a payment but she didn't explain about what because is a another service of urgency. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I keep getting double billed, and keep receiving notices for bills we already paid. One bill was sent straight to collections without a single notice of payment due. Do not to to La. Palma hospital unless you want a doctor out of your network with shady billing practices. Received a statement for the first time from these guys and it states the account is already delinquent. I called them to get clarification. They confirmed it was the first notice sent but could not explain why an account would be considered delinquent on first notice. It appears the use of "your account is delinquent" is an unfriendly tactic employed to alarm patients with a sense of urgency to pay. Is that really necessary? Same issues and problems as with other posting here. I was admitted to GG Hospital on May 31, 1017, and discharged on June 5, 2017. Waves after waves of notices from my insurance carrier HealthNet. I easily maxed out my out-of-pocket expenses for the year during that hospital stay (beside legitimate ones, I also had to pay to some doctors names and services that I never seen, known, or even heard of). Anyway, toward the end of 2017, I received a mail from CMRE asking me to pay this Anderson Perry Sharzer Inc $186.72. I wrote to them asking for details with no response. Then comes February 2018, I received another mail asking for payment, telling me that they may submit a negative credit report. Well into my golden years, credit score is just a meaningless number. I do pay all my real debts that I incurred, but not any that comes across. read more

Everything said here is true. They flatly avoid billing insurance so they can come after you for the full amount. I've filed complaints with the medical board, the AG and the consumer credit bureau. I just received a bill from Anderson, Perry, Sharzer, Inc. that states "YOUR ACCOUNT IS DELINQUENT." I immediately panicked thinking I missed a bill and went through all my files and found nothing unpaid. I honestly thought the bill was in collections and couldn't understand how I missed it. After searching the Internet and seeing reviews on Yelp, I see I am not alone. In addition to the Garden Grove facilities being run down and lacking in privacy, this type of payment collection is unprofessional. I will never patronize this business again and I urge others to find a better location, such as West Coast Radiology Center or Open Advantage MRI. To whomever wrote the verbiage for this company, please take note - when sending the FIRST bill, the account is DUE UPON RECEIPT. Lisa Mendoza (THE MANAGER) OF ANDERSON, PERRY, SHARZER WAS COMPLETELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Never in my life have I ever dealt with such an unprofessional woman. Apparently Anderson, Perry, Sharzer does the medical billing for the Radiology department at Garden Grove Hospital. My husband had a CT scan that I guess was not a provider for my insurance company. I was trying to request that Anderson, Perry, Sharzer contact the doctor to accept the Patient Allowed Amount from my insurance company.. after several calls and a voicemail left by me, Lisa calls me back and says "They won't accept it. ok?" RUSHING ME OFF THE PHONE!? When I asked her to slow down and explain to me why, she said she was "GOING TO TERMINATE THE CALL BECAUSE SHE ASSUMED I RECEIVED INFORMATION ABOUT A PATIENT HARDSHIP" I told her I never did and asked her to be a little more professional and explain it to me. What does she do... she hung up!? THIS IS A MANAGER!? WHAT A HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL BILLING COMPANY! Garden Grove hospital needs to do some recon work immediately. If you want people to pay their bill someone needs to ANSWER THE PHONE! I have called several times, the first time I called it took me a total of 3 calls and 45 minutes on hold to talk to someone about about the charges. The girl was rude and no help at all. I have called back several times to pay the bill and no one answers the phone it goes to voice mail after 10 minutes. I can't pay my bill if you do not answer the phone, and with the outrageous amount you charge for the uninsured you should certainly have a budget to staff enough people to ANSWER THE PHONE! Thank you for wasting lots of my time in order for you to take my money. And why I have to pay a seperate radiologist to read ultrasound results that should have been read in the hospital by the ER MD is beyond me. read more

I have the same experience as person below. Visited Huntington Beach Hospital on 8/3/2016. Every provider that day was paid promptly. Kept receiving bills and kept calling their billing department who assured me they weren't paid but would refile the claim and promised not to turn me over to collections. They turned me over to a collection agency more than a year after they were paid by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Maybe we should consider a class action lawsuit to stop their fraudulent billing practices. read more

Worst Doctor Ever. I was admitted to Garden Grove hospital on December 22,2016 with extreme pain in my head and stomach. I was told by this Dr. that I needed an MRI to make sure there was no brain tumor and a stress test to check my heart. He told me daily that the MRI was scheduled and the stress test was done on the third day I was there. Every day I asked about the severe pain in my stomach and he told me that it was a reaction to the steroids I had been on previously. Every day I asked about the MRI and he said it was ordered. He didn't have the balls to tell me that the hospital didn't have an MRI machine and the one the hospital uses was next door and closed for the Christmas holiday or I would have checked myself out the first day. After being released after 5 days, I was in the exact same excruciating pain as when I went in. Took me 2 months to get an appointment with an Gastrointestinal specialist, where he scheduled a test that revealed that my stomach pain was due to esophageal ulcers and a severely irritated stomach lining for which he put me on medication. He couldn't believe that Dr. Anderson didn't order this procedure while I was in the hospita.l. Dr. Anderson just kept me there for 5 days, so he could bill my insurance more and I had to pay $922.00 out of my pocket for absolutely nothing from this Dr. I truly don't know how he sleeps at night putting patients through this but I'm pretty sure I paid his mortgage for a month. I am on permanent disability and it will take me a long time to pay this off. Glad one of us is sleeping and it's not me. Zero rating and filing a complaint with the medical board!!! read more

If you have the unfortunate luck of having to deal with this sub par, shady business, be aware that their "one call ahead of you" message is bullshit. We went through the ER, paid our applicable co-pay to the Hospital and just received a bill "Final Notice" threatening to send us to Collection for $13.48. When I called to let her know my insurance would be reprocessing (even though they agreed to accept the negotiated price) she was so rude. I then asked for a copy of the original invoice they claim they sent. They do not have a copy but "it's in the system that they sent it". I asked for a copy of the screen shot proving they sent an original invoice, and was told that's it's illegal for them to do it. Admitted in to La Palma via the emergency room in June 2016. Two doctor's from the same office, Sharzer and Hedayati, both submitted claims for doing the exact same procedure. Both my insurance company and myself began notifying during the Fall of 2016 that the claim was a duplicate. This continued in November 2016 and again in March 2017 that the claim was a duplicate. Each time a statement was received both myself and my insurance company would contact them again indicating that the claim was duplicate. Each time they would say it would be looked into and resolved. Resolution never came and they subsequently turned it over to collections and claimed that no one had ever contacted them. Beginning in July - August 2017, I personally continued calling them every 3 days per their instructions. Each time they would claim it was still in review and refused to do anything about the collection agency. Finally gave up and wrote them a check. This is an extremely crooked organization and needs to be avoided at all cost. read more

I really wish there was a "zero star" option. This company is the most disgraceful, dishonest, horrible lying sack of slobs I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Because we went through the ER we didn't have a choice and I did send the hospital a letter to complain about them. There's too many details to go into but first the billing rep tried to tell me that their services were not rendered in the ER (my husband was at the ER for a ruptured appendix) which makes a difference in how much the insurance pays. They then tried to balance bill us, in direct violation of CA law. They then sent us to collections and told the collectors that the service was rendered at their office and not through the ER. They refused to back off until I filed a complaint with the DMHC. The insurance company spoke with Jesse over there and he "assured them our account had not been sent to collections". The insurance company sent another payment and AFTER the check had been cashed, they still tried to tell me they had not received an additional payment. When I called to confirm that there was no longer a balance, I asked jessica if she could let the Collections agency know. She said she would "try" since they are an outbound call center. So they could make the call to hire the collectors but couldn't make a call to call them off? It is obvious that this company's MO is to bill patients whatever the insurance doesn't pay (which is illegal in CA) and if they can't get the money that way, they scare the patient by sending them to collections. Had I not been so familiar with CA health law due to my son's many operations, I would not have known that they were in the wrong and most likely would have paid. They are making their money by manipulating poor, recovering patients and counting on people who don't know the law to pay up just to make them go away. I sent a complaint to the hospital with whom they are contracted and I will be sending a follow up complaint to the DMHC.
