I brought it in and had a call very shortly after with a full diagnosis. I said please get it done and he had me back on the road in no time! Had it replaced about 2 years ago at another shop, and they charged me over $500, even though it only took them 1 1/2 hours. It started working intermittently 4 months ago and then just quit. Ken Wooten said he wasn't sure how long it would take, it's an unusual problem. Bottom line, he replaced it in 1 1/2 hours, with a Ford replacement part. Took out the one the other guy put in. Not a Ford part, some cheap imitation. $300 total. Thanks, Ken!

It had two codes, one for the torque converter, and one for the mass air flow sensor. I called Jr's to set up an appointment. Over the phone, I was told that the mass air flow sensor could be causing the torque converter code and advised me to simply clean the mass air flow sensor. I did and it worked. No more codes. They could have simply let me come in, done some "troubleshooting," and charged me to "fix" the torque converter. But, they didn't.
