My doctor referred me for physical therapy at Golden Bear Physical Therapy and I am so grateful she did! As soon as I entered the office I was impressed with how friendly everyone was. There were two ladies at the front desk who were both helping other patients. One of the PT staff approached me and helped me start the paperwork as a new patient. Usually employees will "stay in their own lane", so I was pleasantly surprised by this. The PT who conducted my evaluation immediately diagnosed my injury as a rotator cuff injury which thankfully was not torn! He performed some manipulation of my shoulder and even though it was uncomfortable, after he finished I experienced so much relief. He gave me a set of exercises to do at home which I happily do twice per day. Each of my follow up visits have been efficient and effective. I have experienced so much progress and improvement in just four visits. I'm excited to see how far I will go with my progress! I cannot recommend Golden Bear highly enough. All of the employees I've encountered have been amazing. If you ever need PT services in the Turlock area, definitely give Golden Bear a try!

Everyone at Golden Bear makes sure you are being challenged in your rehab and recovery and couldn't have been more helpful and nice. The front desk staff is also an asset to Golden Bear, especially Anita and Jesse. I look forward to choosing Golden Bear again for my knee replacement recovery!

The physical therapy provided there is high-quality, but what keeps my dad coming back are the amazing staff. Everyone there is so welcoming and kind! They truly attend to your needs and modify their plan of care to what your personal goals are. For example, since finding out he was going to be a grandpa my dad's number one goal was being able to get on the floor and be able to stand up again to be able to spend time with his future grand baby. The physical therapists there spent time working with him every week to practice this safely and strengthen his core, legs, and improve his balance to make it happen! My dad happily mentions how thankful he is every time he sits on the floor with his granddaughter now. Thank you Altruistic PT! You truly live up to your name and are appreciated!

This review is specifically for the scheduling and reception part of the business…read more My doctor prescribed physical therapy for an injury. I was given the choice of two clinics so I chose Tower Physical Therapy because I had heard good things about them. I called right away to make an appointment. Unfortunately the first available appointment was more than a month away, but I understood that they were busy, and was willing to wait. On the day of my appointment I arrived early to check in since there are always forms to complete for the first visit. The receptionist at the front desk took my name and told me that I did not have an appointment. She asked if my name was a totally different name, to which I replied it was not. She asked who I spoke to when I made the appointment. I didn't write down the name of the receptionist as I assumed it wouldn't be a issue. She went to the back to talk to the available PTs and returned a few minutes later (while calling me the wrong name) to inform me that I had missed my appointment which was scheduled that day, but two hours earlier. I know that I would not have scheduled an earlier appointment due to the fact that I was at work at that time. I informed her that I was told a different time (the time I had put in my calendar) and had repeated it to the woman I spoke to when scheduling, to confirm. The receptionist just reiterated that my appointment was earlier that day. The receptionist did say they could possibly fit me in if I was willing to wait, which I agreed to do. I gave her my insurance card and started to complete the necessary paperwork. While I filled out the forms, she started calling a male's name. Since there were two males in the waiting area with me, I assumed she was calling for one of them. Nope. She was reading the name on my insurance card which happened to be my husband's name. I realized what was happening and took my card back. I told her that was my husband's name, not my name. She made a comment stating that I didn't respond when she called my husband's name. He was not there with me and that is not my name so no, I didn't believe she was calling for me. In the meantime, a second woman came to the desk and began the task of verifying my insurance. She called me back to the desk after a few minutes and informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I left feeling very frustrated. Looking back there was another red flag about the whole fiasco. Usually a patient receives a phone call from the office or clinic to confirm the appointment. No one called me the day before to confirm my appointment. Not even for the time they claimed my appointment was scheduled. Very odd. While I totally understand that we are all human and everyone makes mistakes or errors, what disappointed me the most was how the receptionist handled the situation. It is a shame because while I've heard good things about the therapy staff, I would not consider going back, all because of that receptionist.

From the multiple dead cockroaches and filthy chairs I had to leave, I received a call from a rude therapist and I explained thoroughly about my visit and that I should've known NOT to go to anything that's affiliated with Emanuel Medical center. Hearing them treat elderly people like they did and telling them lies about their appointments not being at the times they thought, I over heard them saying that they don't know the difference and they're old and in nursing homes so they have nothing else to do as if they're not important. Shame on Emanuel
