While they sell discounted tickets for kids 5-12 and kids under 5 are free, we and all the other families there found the tour to be a real struggle for our little ones. We all felt a little misled about the experience based on the online description. It's a lot of standing very still (in rooms with equipment that shouldn't be contaminated by guests, or next to equipment that has cow poop on it), listening to the owner talk for long stretches. We expected more movement around the farm and time outdoors, instead of something closer to a lecture with a large group in tight spaces. It also ran over time (to 2 hours!) ending with a nice close up visit with the cows and some small cheese samples. We did really enjoy meeting the cows and learning the details of how cheese making works. It is a real labor of love. I think there's a lot of potential here; the Achadinha tour has all the ingredients for an awesome visit but could use some editing. This tour could easily be 30 minutes, an hour tops. We would've liked to stay and buy some cheese but by 1pm we were all starving and fled to find lunch elsewhere. Other parents shared they would've had a great time there on a date, but definitely wouldn't go with small kids again. I'll also flag that they require you to step through a decontamination footbath to go inside the facilities. There were a lot of miserable people in sandals who had to get their feet wet in the chemicals. Closed toed shoes that can get wet recommended for this tour.

Comes with a card explaining where the cheeses are from and a toppings bar. So much fun mixing and trying new toppings- very cool experience. Best part is the cheese club! Immediately joined. It was at their warehouse on Payran Street in Petaluma from 12:30pm to 6:00pm on 03/14/2025. I got there about 5:40pm and was surprised at the prices. I mean Toma that normally is $22/lb was $6/lb for precut wedges, and packages of Soppressata Salami for $3 instead of $8! You can't beat that with a stick!! Their cheese selection was large and very reasonably priced! The salami, well you could buy it by the package or the case with an additional 10% discount off the case. And the nice thing was they took credit & debit cards. Usually Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co., is found in specialty places as well as the farmers market and this was their first warehouse sale event. The people working it told me with it being a cold, gloomy day that had a little drizzle, they didn't expect many people but apparently they had lines of people all day long! Hopefully, they will continue to do their warehouse sales as the prices are phenomenal, their cheese are excellent and it's always nice to buy and support local businesses!! My fingers are crossed that they'll announce some more warehouse sales!

The "Kitten With a Whip" rose' is the most flavorful rose anywhere. The Pinot Gris is the best white wine anywhere. The Sangiovese is wonderful with food. They have also become the Petaluma Cheese Shop. They have delicious cheeses from this area and around the world. They also do sandwiches, fondue and dessert treats. The experience was a bit strange from the start and the two people working (one at the register and one behind the deli counter) were both pretty aloof. The individual working the register was too busy engaged in what I can only assume was a very engaging conversation with another customer and the one behind the deli was MIA for almost 10 minutes while I waited awkwardly, unsure if the deli was even open. When someone finally came to the deli counter, I decided to order, pay, and get out of there as quickly as possible. I ordered a reuben sandwich, grabbed a beer, and paid. Then I was prompted to leave a tip - I was a bit shocked by this that I didn't even know what to do. I instinctually hit 20% and it wasn't until I was in the car that I realized I just tipped on a can of beer I grabbed out of the fridge and for a sandwich that I waited 10 minutes for, just to place the order.. lol. All other things aside, the sandwich was okay. A pretty good reuben, but far from the best. The bread was super thin and not well toasted so it became really soggy. Soggy reubens are the worst. We've all had one before - the bread just disintegrated and it just started to fall apart. Overall, the sandwich was okay but there are far better places in town to grab a sandwich that will at least pretend they are happy you stopped by, and won't ask you for a tip for the privilege of doing so.
