You know you are in the Village of North Palm Beach when you start spotting their signature ship wheel sign throughout town. While dining in the area I wanted to get in a few extra steps before heading home, so I stopped by Anchorage Park and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
This lovely 21.5 acre park sits along the North Palm Beach Waterway, which provides access to the Atlantic Ocean. A marina filled with boats adds to the scenic waterfront setting, which made it an especially pleasant place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the views. Boaters have access to resident-only boat storage, a boat ramp, trailer parking, and a washing station.
The park has so many amenities here. A paved walking path winds throughout the park, passing a variety of recreational facilities including a multi-purpose activity building that hosts fitness and card classes, a baseball field, tennis and pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, a fitness trail, kayak and paddleboard launch, separate dog parks for large and small breeds, numerous picnic pavilions, and outdoor restrooms. Families will appreciate the newly updated playground, complete with a sail shade and a zip line.
The only disappointment during my visit was that the fishing pier was closed. It looked like it would have offered beautiful views of the water.
Even without access to the pier, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. This park offers a peaceful waterfront walk, a place to exercise, launch a kayak, or just enjoy time outdoors. read more
