I may be a bit biased but AYC is paving the way for the cycle industry. #rhythmrider I have taken several classes in other areas. Some mainstream like Soul Cycle and Fly Wheel and other boutique studios like Anchorage Cycle and I always have a love and appreciation for what we do and believe that AYC stands out among the crowd. Always learning and always pushing through barriers. Live. Love. Ride.

Craig's classes are fun and he makes you work so hard!

I've been a member for almost 3 years now and the only regret was that I felt too intimidated to go in the first place. I've watched this place evolve and grow so much. We now have the newest and latest bikes. We have wide array of motivators for you to find your preference- the classes are scheduled throughout the day so you can accommodate yourself. I've found the opportunity to try ALL motivators as I know no one is alike and I'm glad I did! You may notice different kind of classes: "OneRide" and "PowerRide." OneRide is the signature class with weights routine at near end of class. PowerRide..the name speaks for itself! It's a hi tech class where you pedal and you see your energy points onscreen...a great motivator/accountability tool! If you are a first timer, you will be "fitted" for your bike accordingly to your height. You will be given rental shoes (yes there are "cycle shoes" that click in/clip in). You will be provided with towel in class because you WILL SWEAT a lot. You can decide if you want to ride closer to the front row or stay in back and absorb it all in. You get to control your resistance...say if you want to push harder, you crank it up! If you are scheduled and not feeling it- you can turn it up a bit by a bit. That's the best part about this studio! YOU are accountable for your own ride and you get to decide for yourself. The room is fun, loud (I see people wearing earplugs which is provided for free..not a problem for a deaf rider like myself hehe) and has colorful lights! And I'll confirm that ALL WALKS OF LIFE comes here. No specific group of people with certain appearance/body type. But there is only one group that goes to Anchorage Cycle I'll be honest...THE GROUP THAT WANTS TO HAVE FUN! :)

Ask the Community - Anchorage Cycle

Are there beginners classes? Do you have to schedule a class in advance? What if your butt is too big for the seat? Do you need special shoes? Is there a dress code I.e. No bootcut yoga pants? I'm actually curious. Not trying to be funny.

Hopefully you got some answers elsewhere since this was posted quite awhile ago. Did you go ?! Hopefully you did and have been loving it :)

I bought a membership here for several reasons:…read more 1) At times, life gets a little too busy to find the time to work out. This place gets you in and out in well under an hour (hence the 45 in F45). 2) You don't need to worry about adding structure to your workouts. These guys take care of that. 3) There are several class options per day (around 5-6), leaving me with less of a reason to use lack of time as an excuse for not working out. 4) The work outs are full body. 5) The staff is awesome. They're basically your personal trainers and they provide great motivation during your workouts. 6) The prices are reasonable and they offer a few different plans. (Unlimited for a year, 8 classes/month, month to month). The only thing I don't like about F45 is your membership is only valid at the location where you purchase it. Not great for someone who travels a lot.

I left in so much pIn and I know it'll be worse tomorrow, but if I wasn't already broken I'm sure I could have handled it. The class is very high energy. You're on a team of sorts and very quickly ind yourself cheering each other on. The trainers are very encouraging and make you feel really comfortable. It's not a huge gym but there's so much equipment and all the exercises are fitting for the space. You don't feel like you're on top of each other. All the exercises can be modified and the flow of the workout is so easy to follow. Aside from the music and the high energy, the trainers really know how to spool you up without it being annoying. It's a great time. As soon as I heal up I'm going back. I've got too many injuries to do it now, but literally the minute I'm cleared to do it again, I will.

Other gyms for this cost or less have saunas, tanning, pools, yoga studios, classes, etc. Not here. The two newest staff members are very unpleasant with one of the girls going as far as chasing you down anytime shes away from the desk when you scan in and practically accusing you of not being a member. On top of that the same girl has a habit of putting things away before anyone is finished, I've seen her do this to the point someone will eventually yell at her. Any time you step away to grab water, go to the bathroom, or even just walk around in between sets she immediately cleans up after you even if it's obvious you're not done. She also seems to think everyone should workout in 100% silence so if the weights ever make any noise or if someone makes even a quiet grunt she'll tell the manager who then calls you to say there's been noise complaints about you (which is funny because whenever I've gone there's either people that are much louder or there's not a single person in the building so I'd love to know where the complaints are from). It's really not worth the price.

I thought I would update my review to reflect her positive customer service and although I would have loved to use the package she made it right. I purchased a class package last year after having a baby and having had a lot of Pilates experience I was really disappointed to find that I couldn't attend certain classes unless I had attended their basic classes first. Normally that wouldn't have been an issue but they only offered those classes at a certain time of day and it was only offered one day a week and I was not able to attend. When covid 19 hit they obviously closed but now they are requiring customers buy and bring their own equipment.
