The APSC (Anchor Point Senior Center) is mostly know by the locals who attend Thursday night dinners. Recently APSC hired a new Chef, I use the term Chef for a number of reasons all in which differentiate an average cook from a Chef. Shari meets the expectation of what makes a Chef (Number 1 reason is passion for preparing excellent food for others). Shari, who has shaken things up in a good way at APSC has Southern roots and the cooking experience to match. Where in Alaska can you find cooking with that southern style influence you ask? Well it's APSC in Anchor Point Ak. Sure it's not all southern style food but everything this brilliant Chef puts out is done with that southern style love and influence, lots of good home style comfort food. Shari never puts out bad food, it's my belief she can make a pot of regular water appetizing. Jacked up Mac and Cheese (the best this Hungry Trucker has ever had by the way), Halibut steaks on top of a bed of wonderfully flavored pasta, barbecued pork ribs, from scratch angle food cake topped with strawberries and whipped cream are some of the food Shari can put in front of you for only $12.00 if you stop by. So if your ever in Anchor Point on a Thursday night then you should stop by and enjoy a wonderful meal at APSC you won't be sorry. read more
