5 stars for the hospital and staff…read more 1 star for the ER I changed my loved ones insurance to have Emory. It's a higher standard of care and I like teaching hospitals even if 5 scribes and students always accompany the doctor. HOSPITAL/CLINIC Self-parking and valet is a headache and expensive unless you're admitted for three weeks or longer, then you can buy an in and out pass. No parking validation for emergencies. Although the ER and hospital rooms have WiFi, common areas and clinic lobbies lack cell service. Uber drivers can't find you because there are several hospital entrances. Allow plenty of time if you have more than one appointment in different areas (A, B, C). Eye doctors are on three different floors which is confusing. Emory is huge so take advantage of wheelchairs if needed. Some doctors don't read the chart so be prepared to repeat yourself and take notes. Nurses are caring and hard working and the ICU is excellent. There are filtered water fountains & a cafe that's always open for delicious hot meals or snacks although the prices recently increased. Take a pic of the patient menu and call their order in. Clean and comfy rooms have couches, cable, storage and a couch/recliner for guests, some even have views. I love 'My Chart' where records, appointments, prescriptions and communication with your provider is just a few phone clicks away. The ER is another story entirely. EMERGENCY ROOM First visit was for a serious emergency which required surgery. The stay was extended several days for an MRI. We were told even patients arriving in ambulances were lined up stretcher to stretcher to wait for an MRI. Second trip after an accident involved a reasonable wait time and thorough care. But the third visit was the last. We waited in a freezing lobby crammed with sick people for 15 hours before seeing a doctor. We were given a wait time via app which extended until updates stopped completely. I've never heard such bloodcurdling screams, one patient in back sounded like he was being tortured. From 4pm to 6am there were NO DOCTORS. A young man was was crying out in agony after losing his mom. Sadly, people were taking their frustration out on the front desk person due to a lack of security. One guard ran out from the back after being stabbed in the hand by a patient. I had to go for a walk to calm down while my loved one froze, waited and starved. No-one informed us of a cafeteria. Thin blankets were handed out and patients were told no meds without first seeing a physician. We didn't see one until the morning shift arrived. The nurse admitted someone died due to lack of staff and she was going to quit. Thank God my loved ones injury was not life-threatening. I filled out a survey and never heard from Emory. As frightening as this ER experience was, I'd still choose this campus over Emory Decatur where previously, a serious omission was made during surgery and the room wasn't clean. Grady isn't even in the running. But since we're privileged enough to have a car, we'll drive the extra 15 minutes to St. Joseph's for future ER visits. SUM Emory University Hospital (Clifton) has room for improvement, especially regarding ER and parking. But cleanliness, care, comfortable rooms, My Chart, meals and staff are recommended.

I thought they would let me pass out before treating me. It was literally the scariest experience…read moreto go to this hospital and watch so many of the front desk staff walk around casually as I was screaming for help. My husband was being as patient and even WAITED IN LINE to ask a second person for help to get me out of the car. Long story short, no one helped me from the car. We had a bystander's help getting into the ER. Once in the waiting room, I fell out of my chair because of my lower body cramping and a nurse proceeded to yell at me and my husband without offering any help. The ER was empty at the time. The staff outside told us how horrible this day staff is as I was lifted from the car by strangers. I'm grateful for the few this day. Emory is not the place you want to be treated even on your worst day.

I gave birth at this location 2 months ago and it's crazy reading all the negative reviews because…read morei had an opposite experience! All the nurses that were assigned to me were so sweet and supportive i could tell they love what they do. They took care of my baby during postpartum and made sure that we were okay. The food was amazing too lol i was surprised about that i always just assumed hospital food was nasty but their breakfast lunch and dinner were soooo yummy! I would give 5 stars but i didnt only because they apparently lost the clothes i arrived at the hospital in. I voiced this concern to one of the nurses and she said it was nowhere to be found. I just thought that was irritating because it was my favorite articles of clothing :/

This is a huge hospital out in the mountains of North Georgia. I had…read more heard good things about it, so I felt comfortable checking in for my outpatient surgery. Staff was friendly at the check in counter, and I did not have to wait too long to get signed in. I had already spent 50 minutes on the phone for the preoperative interview. The preparation for my surgery didn't take too long either. The nursing staff was very friendly and professional. The Anestesia Doctor did his job, but he was not extremely personable. To him, I was just a number. However, my Doctor Karen Buhariwalla was amazing. She explained what would happen in the upcoming procedure, and made small talk to make me feel confident, and relaxed. After the surgery the dismissal process was easy. Noone wants to have anything to do with a hospital, but if I ever have to, I would chose this one.
