This place is horrible!!!! I missed a call from my daughter and I called right back and the girl who answered said I had the wrong code she would have her call me back and hung up. If she will call me back y look just verified she was there which isn't supposed to happen. And It's the same code I have been using for the past two days. I finally talked to my daughter and she had been attacked by another patient. The adults on the floor had no urgency to break it up. This same girl had attacked someone else earlier that day. How is she even still out with everybody?! If they cannot handle nor control violent situations then law enforcement should be called or they should have on site security for these issues. The administrators do not care to even check what's going on, on the unit. There is no sense of urgency for a supervisor to call back when a parent calls worried. The admin named Winter was very unapproachable and had a bad attitude once we got to the facility the next morning. The only person at this facility who seemed to care was Kendra but she was just telling lies like she was in contact with the doctor and wasn't. In fact, the patient advocate Eugene was very thorough and he was the person who actually got things done. I can't speak for other parents but my husband and I care about my child and thought that she would get proper care here and they are failing tremendously!! read more

I give the staff a solid 4 out of 5. The facility was clean, the food was surprisingly good (yes, even the coffee!), and the atmosphere was mostly peaceful. I felt cared for--genuinely--by everyone from the nurses to the therapists to the doctors. Special shoutout to Ms. Jay for her incredible bedside manner and beautiful spirit (and earrings, both of y'all, okay!). If I could dream a little bigger? An indoor pool for water aerobics would do wonders for mental and physical recovery. I'd also love to see designated classrooms for arts & crafts, journaling, and quiet creative time--space for folks to express, decompress, and just breathe. If you have Tricare, Medicaid, or Medicare plan on staying for the full 10 days bc all they want is the money. This facility is a complete waste of time and provide NO HELP TO ANYONE, including my husband. He is a disabled vet, who went to the emergency room to get expedited help WITH his meds and adjustments. The only way they would see him is if he told them he was suicidial (which he shouldnt have done), so they transferred him to the god foresaken rip off of a facility for "help". HE IS NOT SUICIDAL BY NO MEANS, we have been married 10 years, i know my husband. They have only knowN him for 3 days. He still is taking the same damn meds he was or is currently on. He is doing the same thing there that he does here at home, nothing DIFFRENT. SO WHY KEEP HIM LOCKED UP. FOR THE MONEY, THATS WHY? No adjustments, no new meds, no nothing but holding him hostage with strict ass rules that would drive anyone to harm themselves. Bedtime at 9pm even on the weekends, cant come out of your room til 630am, oh and lets not forget naptime during the day for 2.5 hours. Like seriously WTF. A True Gem at Anchor Hospital - Mrs. Nyra During my time at Anchor Hospital, I encountered many medical professionals, but none left an impression quite like Mrs. Nyra. As a tech, she was more than just someone performing her duties--she was a real person who brought genuine warmth and compassion to her work. In a place where patients can often feel vulnerable and disconnected, Mrs. Nyra had a way of making every interaction feel personal. She didn't just treat me like another name on a chart; she saw me, listened to me, and treated me with the kindness and dignity everyone deserves. Whether it was offering words of encouragement, checking in on me beyond her required duties, or simply making me laugh when I needed it most, she embodied the heart of patient care. Her professionalism, skill, and empathy transformed my hospital stay into something much more manageable, and I will always be grateful for the support she gave me. most techs were amazing there like Ms. Nicole, Ms.crystal, Ms. Angel, Ms. Jasmine, Ms. Latoy, Nurse/Ms. T, and my doctor: Dr. Patel. Mostly everyone was nice but those were my favorites. The food is amazing and I love snack times :) The kids were super nice to me and I feel so much happier after staying there. Although, sometimes it does get boring but they have groups, drawing, cards, tv, coloring, going outside, reset time, books, and music that you can ask them to play. My bathroom shower sucked but at least it got the job done (room 503). The deodorant doesn't last very long either, it only works for like the morning time. The bedtime is 9:00 and you wake up around 5:40 - 6:00 I don't really know. I stayed for 8 days including sunday but I didn't mind because I had my friends and I actually got help with my mental problems. You can ask for individual sessions and the staff is very respectful and will take care of you. Don't be scared to talk about your feelings because all they want to do is help you reaches your goals and to work on your coping skills so you can have better mental health. My daughter was a patient at Anchor Hospital from 9/6/2024 until 9/11/2024. This complaint is with her permission. My daughter went to Northside Hospital because she was experiencing depression - she couldn't stop crying. She legitimately wanted help. They transferred her to Anchor Hospital. During the entire time she was at Anchor, she had two group meetings, no therapy, and they could not provide her with her ADHD medicine or her med for bladder spasms. This is unacceptable. She went there to work on her depression and mental health issues, and they did absolutely NOTHING to help her. This was a waste of time, resources, and money. Her insurance will be charged thousands of dollars, and for what? She has absolutely nothing to show for a week in the hospital. What insurance does not pay, she will have to pay. This hospital is extremely short-staffed - perhaps they should find appropriate help or close their doors. I realize there is a shortage, but that is no excuse for taking insurance money and not helping their patients. read more

I was in the adolescent's side. Ms nicole (I'll call her ass nikki) was so kind as to give me the help I needed when i was having a break down. I remember mentioning having suicidal ideation during an episode, yk what she told me? "Go ahead and try." She was smirking and chuckling too. Ms ada boo (love her) just stood there. Anchor Hospital helped to transform my life after my third manic episode, and I credit all of the staff for my three years of being stable. I was able to graduate with my Master of Social Work this May, and I credit that to the compassion of the staff while taking care of me at one of my lowest moments. The team even provided me with an ice cream sandwich on my birthday, a small treat that meant everything to me. I greatly appreciated the time I spent outside, which was vital for my recovery. I also loved the music therapy that was provided. I never thought recovery was possible for me, and I am thankful for my time at Anchor. This place was the place I stayed in for almost a month and I had been here before. The 2nd time I came in here, I was stuck there for twenty-two days, and I got entrapped in there. I signed paperwork under duress without understanding my rights because someone called 911 on me when I all I really wanted is for people to take me seriously and listen to me when I said I felt my safety was in danger. This was not the first time I was held against my will, and later, I ended up in jail on unfair charges. Duane H. and Andrea H. were spot on with what stuff happened at this place. As for me, I did not want to reach out to these people because they literally did not help my parents and I stayed longer than I should and I did not understand the paperwork due to sleep deprivation from them constantly checking up on me for no reason during night time. It literally caused my sleep to suffer. (insomnia and the fact my medicine stopped working as intended despite trying to work off a schedule). The lack of communication and also much of my clothes got stolen. Being here as the only Asian-American and having another diagnoses change once again sucks. Also, I'm never going to consent to a urine test ever again at a public hospital. They hinted that I need rehab. But for what? Because my pee is dark and I was pressured to take OTC pills from Australia for my headaches? My family friend literally got that off of Facebook marketplace. Yea, that ain't funny. Combined with strong medicine and bad side effects together, the side effects caused me to feel very foggy in the brain. Until I got a mood stabilizer of course! Also, I feel like I could use that mood stabilizer again right now instead of cutting down the potency of the pill (this is the psychiatrist I have now who came up with this great idea after I departed from the hospital). I consistently tried to show participation and good behavior during every session we grouped up. Even the hospital I came in before this said they were sick of seeing me in this sorry, neglectful state. Literally everyone trusted the overworked psychiatrist over me. This all happened because someone called 911 on me instead of the non-emergency #. Yea, I'm going to have to reach out to local PD b/c people refuse to talk to me at all and ask why I feel very unsafe now because I did not want this to happen to me or my family. Apparently, I am more unreliable as a narrator for myself than the group of psychiatrists who go through a revolving door trying to figure me out. At this point, get me a psychologist. read more

"DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING" Your legal rights or treatment options do not change by signing. You should not be asked to sign anything under duress or sever distress. Never take your loved ones here and do what is needed to get them moved someplace else for help. If they are mandatorily held at this location on a 1013 or any other legal version for mental health, instruct them "DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING" If you have the means, get a lawyer immediately! This is a hold facility, not a treatment facility. Demand your loved ones be moved to a facility that has actual care. This is not a place where people get treated. It is a place where they warehouse people and use medical laws to legally hold someone to collect insurance claims. After 4 attempts to get my adult daughter moved from this facility into a better facility, we were continuously declined. She was housed with patience with severe disorders, talking to themselves and yelling in the middle of the night where she was dealing with depression. I would say that is the same as locking up gang members for murder with the same people who stole a loaf of bread to feed their family. After Dr. Dhanani Iqbal made comments about us trying to move her, and I quote "You better call your parents and tell them to back off or I will make you stay here longer" I called 911 to get access to my daughter. My daughter being afraid of being locked up indefinitely, documented the comments to ensure she remembered the exact words. That documentation was shared with College park police. The quoted comment was acknowledged by a nurse to the College Park Police. I spoke with others leaving after discharge and they were visibly disoriented. When I asked how long they had been there, all stated 1 or 2 days. I also asked 2 females being discharged after 1 day if they had insurance and both stated no. We did have insurance and therefore was held for 4 days initially then manipulated into thinking she had to be voluntarily admitted to make a personal request for release. Well this was manipulation to give them a different legal stance. Once she signed a document that she was there voluntarily and she wanted to be released, they changed their tune to "We have the legal right to hold voluntary admitted patience for 72 hours for observation". She had already been observed for over 84 hours at the time she was manipulated into signed it. If someone is unstable to the point they cannot function in society, how can they be legally OK to sign over their rights? Why would they do this? Because it takes a judge's order to hold someone beyond 72 hours on a mandatory initial observation period. The same as the police can't hold you on false charges indefinitely without a by a judge. By getting someone to sign in being voluntary, it triggers another 72 hours hold period. It is all part of their legal maneuver that you are un aware of to start the hold period over again due to it was a different reason for admitting someone. This does not happen if you don't have insurance. Obviously clear manipulation to milk as much money from the insurance company as possible. There was care lined up, there was a doctor ready to see her but legally they have control over your loved one's lives. It was clearly not about the care of a patient's well-being; it was about billing the insurance for the care that she was not receiving. Yes, this is the legalize practice of organized insurance fraud. I sat and talked to a gentleman that was trying to check himself in and he was left sitting in the lobby for hours. Why, he stated he had no insurance so they wouldn't take him? He admitted he was mentally unstable. A person with a treatment plan lined up, health providers waiting to look after them who have great health insurance are held for 8 days where an obvious struggling mental health patient who was sitting in the lobby for more than 3 hours is not even spoken too because he stated he has no insurance. The real question is, Anchor Hospital in the business of providing care OR the business of billing insurance claims? I would say this is clear evidence the answer is NOT care and strictly about how to collect insurance money! I left a similar review on Google and the hospital responded to the review within an hour politely asking for my contact info to speak about the matter. Obvious social media response to look like a concern to them. I reported this directly to them and nothing. There were 3 police officers responded and interviewed their staff and the doctor over the phone but no contact from Anchor Hospital. Now a bad review and they want my contact info? I reported fraud to my insurance company and Anchor has not reached out but a bad Google review and they want to talk to me? Only public awareness will stop this type of behavior. I provided contact info immediately to them as part of their reply on Google and have not received a reply as of this review submittal, go figure. read more

That 5 star review you see from Courtney W on here is a staff member posing as a patient. Do not go here for help. You won't get it. Do not send your loved one here.. fellow attendees and myself were triggered REGULARLY by power tripping staff. Sheryl-Lee is a terrible person and should be fired immediately. Same with the Nurse- Tatiana. The only three people who give any type of shit is Ms. Laura, Emmanuel, and Rene. That's three people out of probably 50.. everyone else is there for a paycheck and they let you know. Don't dare step out of line or do anything they say you can't.. they hold cigarettes and TV and phone use- the very small things we get to look forward to- as a punishment. They will YELL at you. They will point their finger in your face and say "do this now"- or you get more days added. They will trigger your every trauma and use it against you. Many attendees in my group (Harbor Town-the mild/"tame" unit) all said besides the food, jail was better. Not to mention the yeast infection every woman will leave there with because of a wet toilet paper roll left on the sink in the "common area"-community- bathroom and mold in every single shower. Please. I beg you. Do not go here.. and if you find one of your loved ones has been held on a 1013- pray for them.. they get out when the staff says and the doctors are just as awful but not quite as much at Sheryl-Lee or Tatiana. This is not so much a review I'm writing as it is a *WARNING*...this place is absolutely terrible and frightening. When I had to go there, the intake process took about 3 hours, mostly I was continuously told to keep waiting while they "figured things out"....staff members were either on their phones, the receptionist was playing solitaire on the computer, and standing around chatting. Finally I saw the psychiatrist who asked me what my name was about 5-6 times throughout our very short meeting and appeared to be partially deaf. The guy who worked at reception was clearly untrained for his job and started asking me confidential questions from behind the desk as I sat on a bench about 6 feet away, in front of everyone. He also had several patients' files open and visible on his disorganized desk area. I honestly had trouble distinguishing between the patients there and there staff, it was just a lot of people standing around talking and laughing and looked not at all like a professional atmosphere. The nurses who dispensed the medications spoke not a word of English (no joke) and honestly looked very much like they were openly talking shit about each patient as they came thru the line. The examining doctor (Dr. Iqbal I think) saw me in a room without a female nurse present and with the door *wide open*, and when bringing up the subject of my addiction kept assuming it was crack (?), which it wasn't. He seemed uninterested in any other possibility, because he said "I looked homeless". REALLY?? I told them that I was scared of the girl they placed me as roommates with because she was quite obviously acting psychotic and aggressive and they refused to move me until my mom arrived and she told them that keeping me with a scary roommate was unacceptable and mentioned possible legal action if they didn't, at which time they acted annoyed and moved me to a different room. They made me do a urine test and said to place it on the table outside the bathroom, and after an hour at least, I happened to walk by that area again and the sample was still sitting there in the dark, someone had turned the lights off. Anchor Hospital just released my sister to my house-after 5 weeks of her being delusional and out of control-just dropped her off-with NO medication for even tonight-(she was dropped off at 7:10pm) she is out of control and I cannot believe they would release her this way-as soon as whatever medication they gave her wore off-she became out of control-I read past reviews of this horrid place-try NEVER to put your loved one in this horrible place. Inept and uncaring-they told me here Psych Medicare had run out-they released her even though she is a danger to herself and others-when she should have been transferred to another facility-all they did was shoot her up with drugs to knock her out-unreal place. read more

Absolutely horrible. My loved one was placed there a week ago. She has dementia with sundowners. I have called and left 3 messages with Karen the SW to set up a family meeting and discuss plans for discharge... no return call. I spoke with Mika, discharge planner on Friday who told me she couldn't do anything because she was "getting things ready for the weekend". When we called the Safe Harbor Unit (several times) there was never an answer. Today, Monday we received a call to come pick up our loved one because she is being discharged. Needless to say, we are totally unprepared as there has been NO communication prior to this. I think Anchor needs to take a good look at their employees who are rude, lack compassions and are overall unqualified to be in the health care industry. read more

I'm going to give 2 perspectives of this hospital from a parent perspective and from a child perspective (15 yr old) My perspective the hospital is unorganized my son was admitted from a children's hospital. The 1st, 24 hours no one contacted me about the process I had to go online to find the policies and procedures. Day 2 his Dr. contacted me via text message and asked me to download a messenger app. that his prefers to use**please know this is not the standard practice for any of the staff just his preference** now here us where it gets crazy I received 1 call from a counselor regarding his progress and 6 calls from nurses to consent to medication. No one keep you in the loop of your child's progress so don't wait for them to call you call them. The worst was the visitation on Saturday the older Caucasian receptionist was overwhelmed, however she was friendly and nice given the circumstances and alone trying to get over 20 people registered to see their family members there are 4 sections of the hospital with the same visitation day. Visition is from 6pm to 7:30pm there wasn't a room for us to visit they finally brought the kids to us at 6:45pm and didn't extend the time due to them being unprepared. tuesday visitation day the black receptionist was rude and short when I questioned the policies. Now from my son's perspective he stated his 1st day he was left alone for awhile upon his initial admissions, it took awhile for him to be placed in his room (there are 2 kids per room) there was a fight doing dinner between 2 kids. He stated the staff was nice. Dinner is serviced a 5:30pm which is early to me. *Please note you can bring your kid clothes, books to read and cards* no one tell you this however unless you ask. Check your kids personal items upon discharge just because they say it's there please check. I have 3 stars because of my son's view. From a parent view it would have been 1. Don't ever be admitted by a UHS facility. This place used to be tied in with Talbott Recovery Addiction Center. They most likely still are due to their location. I was here to detox prior to admittance to Talbott Recovery Center. They locked patients in this place like jail under the guise of 'medical detox'. Being intoxicated and vulnerable when they arrive they are unaware of what is really happening. Signing a LOT of papers under the influence. Rights gone. So many were visibly upset that they couldn't get out and were from far away so no family could help them. You will be kept until insurance/medicaid runs out! If you don't have money they may let you go hopefully! One staff member got in my face one day so close almost touching me (spitting on me) and so LOUD he continued screaming at me I Iost control and peed my pants. His veins were popping out of his neck, his eyes popped wide and I thought he was going to strike me. A patient standing next to me happened to be a lawyer and had a tape recorder in his pocket. He said I should contact him when I got out but I didn't. But he got it on tape and I have his name and address. Imagine a lawyer witnessing this. Due to my refusal to 'conform' I was put on Thorazine but stopped it in a few days. I just sat in the chair all day long. Staring at the wall. One Flew Over The Cookoos Nest. I felt my soul slowing dying. They kept me here over a week and NO one needs that long to physically detox. Also, Thorazine should never have been part of my detox, I have NEVER been diagnosed (on the outside) with any mental illness and I was under the care of a good psychiatrist helping me cope with day to day problems, that is all. Once I quit that Thorazine their party of me being quiet and submissive was OVER! Here I am alive and WELL! Very abusive staff behind closed doors. They tell you you can leave anytime but IF you leave w/o their consent Talbott Recovery won't take you so you are forced to comply. See my reviews for UHS - Marsh Talbott and Talbott Recovery. My boyfriend was here after being transferred from a regular hospital. He was told he needed an evaluation but had not received one within the first full 24 hours of arriving. A lot of waiting with no information. He did not need to be here and could have just received information on psychiatrists within his area. He was admitted to the hospital due to a sever anxiety attack. After being at the regular hospital for over 24 hours he was transferred here. He had to wait another 24+ hours before even being evaluated by a doctor. He was held against his will and not allowed to leave. Here, you are a prisoner and they do not help. I called several times to receive information but none was provided to me (I had permission to receive all medical information about my boyfriend). If you come here for help, you will be treated like a prisoner and held against your will. I highly suggest finding a psychiatrist or therapist before you ever consider coming here for help. read more

My elderly Father (age 81) with Alzheimer's (suffering from Sundowners at the time) was taken to Anchor Hospital from the VA hospital in Augusta without any communication to the family. Upon arrival to Anchor, we received absolutely no communication from the hospital personal or the Social Worker he was assigned (Karen). After two very long weeks of calling on a daily basis, trying to communicate with his Doctor (Dr. Dhanani) and an extremely rude and unprofessional Social Worker (Karen) we had to involve a third party private facility to assist us in getting him back home. Which by the way he received no treatment plan while there. This took an additional 4 days. Upon his arrival home, we realized all of his personal items, clothing, cell phone, wallet, drivers license, checkbook, hat, belt, watch, hearing aide and money had been stolen while he was there. They basically housed him for a guaranteed insurance pay out and robbed him. This was a very traumatic experience for not only him as a patient but the family as well. He is definitely in worse condition than when he left. I do not recommend this hospital for ANYONE and hope the VA reconsiders the contract they have with them. read more

I appreciated the level of care I received (shout out to CiCi, Ms. Loretta, and everyone at Beacon West, Hall C) I felt safe, and everyone was nice for the most part during my stay. However, I feel like what I needed for my discharge was really overlooked. First of all, I was given appointments that were where my PARENTS lived, not me personally.. I understand not being in the best mental state affected me not being able to fully communicate this, but I feel like more contact with my parents would have streamlined the process in order to make things easier for everyone. I was not told that I had personal belongings until AFTER I was already home. I do not live close to Anchor, so this was a huge inconvenience. When I would call back in regards to something with my medications, the person on the phone was almost always 100% just plain out rude. I understand this is not the ideal facility to work at, but *SOME* folks that work there should just not work there! read more

She was originally at Gwinnett Medical Hospital, but they transferred her to this facility and it's not a place I would have chosen for my mother to get the help and support she needs. For people that are dealing with behavioral health issues, this isn't the right place that any family member would feel comfortable about sending their loved one to because it isn't a safe facility. I read the reviews of this facility after my mother contacted me to let me know they were transporting her there. Had I had the choice to intervene, I would have. I got a call from her around 11:00 pm on Friday night. The facility location/decision was already made for her by the admin staff at Gwinnett Medical Hospital. They were the ones who called different facilities to place my mother in and no one gave me a heads up of which facility they were going to send her to. The most alarming review was about a girl getting raped recently, in addition to theft and fights. But I decided to just pray and hope that the reviews were from patients that weren't in their right state of mind because when I visited my mom, I shared my concerns about the review with the receptionist and she told me that most of those bad reviews are from patients that are not in their right mind/psychological issues, so I just accepted that as a possibility to remove my doubt and fear. I strongly believe in having my own experience with anything before I am able to conclude or form an opinion about it. It's very hard to get ahold of the doctor and social worker. My mother's social worker is Brooke Hill and I don't have the doctor's name. I was told that they were supposed to contact me on Monday, so I called today and after several attempts, I was able to at least speak with the receptionist and left a voicemail for the social worker. I hope she calls me back tomorrow. My mom called me today and told me that her room mate assaulted her. She scratched my mom in the head and my mom doesn't feel safe, she called the police. My biggest issue with this facility is safety and communication. They are supposed to be in a facility to get help, not get assaulted. I was trying to not be negative about this place when I read the reviews and HOPED my mom's outcome wouldn't be like this, that she wouldn't get hurt by any of the other patients. If you have a choice to get your family member help, please keep them away from this facility. It does more harm than good. Now I am worried sick about my mom. All I was trying to do was rest easy knowing she's getting professional mental help and support she needs, but at the cost of her safety being at risk, it just isn't worth it. This place is for people that do not have health insurance and it's very disappointing to know that because this is a free facility, a lot of their patients are not safe. Had my mom had insurance, she wouldn't have been sent here, it was out of my hands, but myself, including my family would have paid for a facility out of pocket rather than dealing with all of this. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever encountered, I came to pick up a patient at this hospital and they blew my phone up saying I have to be there early in order to pick the patient up. I took off from work for this and I've been waiting in my car since 8:00 . They take there time to get things done the doctor was supposed to arrive by 9 and he didn't even get there until about 10 , the social worker finally called me and said he will be discharged soon like I'm not understanding what's tak By them this long to go ahead and let him walk outbid here , they are unprofessional and rude. Do not go here, we shall be suing them. read more

Having previously read negative reviews of Anchor Hospital and then having visited my nephew there, I feel compelled to make a few positive comments. First of all, every staff member was courteous and helpful - from the security guard at the gate to the receptionists, attendants and nurses. None of us visitors experienced any disdain or rudeness from these people. Secondly, what we saw of the facility was very clean - the grounds (in spite of some construction), the lobby, the hallways, and the dining area where we met with our family members. I surmise that many (all?) of the patients are involuntarily placed at Anchor. Their movement is restricted to their 2-person rooms (bathroom-equipped), their hallway, the commons area where each hallway's residents spend the day, and the dining room. My nephew said the meals are good-tasting to him. Snacks are also available (free of charge) between meals. There are even cigarette breaks for those whose family members have left a pack or two with the receptionist. Staff provides up to two cigarettes to the designated patient at the smoke breaks. Two complaints my nephew mentioned included not having any physical recreation time (basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc.). He also said the bathrooms available to patients during their time in the commons area tend to get nasty. He also commented on the number of fights that break out during the day. However, this seems to be a common problem among behavioral care facilities. One cannot expect the ambience of a Sandals resort at a facility of involuntary residence. Nevertheless, Anchor Hospital seems to try to minimize the unpleasantness of the situation - both for the patient and family members. read more

This damn place is quite ridiculous! They are the absolute worse in getting back to you on your loved one. Depending on who you reach on the phone will determine what answer you get for the same question asked. One day, the doctor is coming this morning, another day, no telling when. They don't call you back but possibly once per week. They know my voice, my name, and I can quote the number they give your loved one by heart because most of the time you call, you don't talk to your loved one. Even the times they give you to call, they're not available. This must be a state-funded facility and they get money based on how long an individual stays. I've heard from day 3 that my grandson didn't really need to be there, from some staff members, but they keep them anyway. Again, this place is ridiculous!!! Does anyone even read these comments for possibly assistance in taking care of issues? Seems not!!!!!! read more

POOR COMMUNICATIONS TO FAMILY & POOR INSURANCE FOLLOW UP Responses FROM ANCHOR. DON'T EXPECT A CALL or A CALL BACK FROM ANYONE AT THIS PLACE.!!!!!! regarding your loved one - ESPECIALLY A MINOR --Can I give them NO STARS??? - CAUSE ONE STAR IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!! My son was admitted there via another hospital transport- however, no one from Anchor contacted me about his admission & he is a minor. The transporting hospital advised me of his transfer & gave me the # to call Anchor, however, the lack of contact to me directly from Anchor was never done- with all my pre-registration papers from the other facility. I contacted Anchor 5 times the same day of the transport & the reception kept connecting me to the adolescent area (again a minor) & no one returned my call. A social worker contacted me asking me information - but yet could not talk to me about my son & his status (minor). I went to Anchor....NO ONE came down to talk to me - but the receptionist gave me a bunch of paperwork to complete & some of the information on the sheets were highlighted (for me to initial) but when I read the highlighted information - it was for me to release or say that the hospital can make the decisions for my son. My 2nd call from Anchor was from my son 3 days later stating he needed some clothes. ...I quickly demanded to speak with someone, again, waited over an hour & still no one came down to speak to me. The social worker called me to state that I had a family therapy session with my son that weekend - I came 1/2 hr. earlier, the appointment was at 11am - didn't get to see my son until 12:30pm with the therapist & then that was cut short because we were over our time limit. My health insurance coordinator stated they contacted Anchor 6 times within this time period to get information so that they can pre-certify the services, Anchor never responded. After the 7th call, my insurance received information for 4 days out of a 5 day stay.....never did Anchor send in the clinical info to have the 5th day authorized, now the entire stay is being denied by my carrier. An Anchor employee said "good thing you do have job insurance" - but now I have to get legal involved because Anchor has not completed their clinical information to have the entire stay approved or retro pre-certified. I contacted Anchor 4 times this morning, each a total of 26 rings to the adolescent area .... no answer. read more

My mother was admitted here for alcohol detox and it was a dreadful experience. We sat in a single room for 2.5 hours waiting for her intake to be processed (that we were repeatedly told would take no more than 20 minutes) as she went through shakes, sweats and vomiting from withdrawals and no one did anything. We got told to "chill" when we asked how much longer we were expected to wait. Once my mom was admitted, speaking to her was a nightmare. I called the number they instruct you to use, and half the time, it just rang for 10 minutes with no answer (someone set it off the hook just so they weren't bothered?) and the other half I was redirected 3-4 times then hung up on. Every person answered with an attitude, never saying hello, always "what?!" or "patient ID." I kept track- of the 20+ times I called over my mothers 4 day stay I only managed to speak with her about 5 times. Every one of these times a worker was standing next to her listening to what she said, so she could never really talk to me. Thankfully she was transferred out of this hell into Talbott's after only a few days. If you can send your loved ones anywhere else- by all means, please do. First of all, Anchor Hospital is not a hospital and they should be raided and closed, right at the location that they are at. I was "taken" or kidnapped right out of a hospital emergency room in Newnan, GA only to find myself at a unlicensed unit of this so called "Hospital" with phony documents and Doctors. So called nurses handing out medication. Being drugged at night without my knowledge. Being hounded by rude so called Mental Health Attendants. Locked out of my room. No seat on the toilets. Made to go to another room to use the bathroom while locked out of my room. In fact all "patients" were made to go during this session of "lock out" to the same toilet, in an empty room. Constant talking about each patient that you could overhear. Every 15 minutes someone would be at your door with a flashlight, all night long. I was given Haldol without my permission. I was given other very doping and heavy medications, even threatening me with depacote, pulling all my teeth and cutting my hair off. I was also threatened by the staff calling 'Central Ambulance service, the service you use to call Mental Hospitals, scaring me every night. Not only did they have me for four weeks, I was released then found myself back at Anchor Hospital for another 4 weeks, where the so called Hazing me continued. Not only this, but I caught them in Medicare Fraud to the tone of over 60 Thousand dollars. I am in touch with Medicare Fraud. I only hope that you never have to go through what I have gone through. read more
