When scheduling for my check up 6 month later, does anyone really know what time and day they'll be available in six months. Well of course we schedule anyways and then two months before hand I see if I can change it. The lady says they're booked out till August. So if I cancel my March appointment, it will be a full year before I'm seen again. I think this is common in Anchorage. We don't have enough dentist that they're booked out a whole year? The lady couldn't really help me and I didn't wanna cancel so I just left it. I have to remember to call them if I can't go so I don't get charged $50. Seems a little ridiculous. The dentist also had a tremor when he was doing my filling. I don't know if that's an everyday thing or what, but I was a little nervous.

I've been coming to Huffman Family Dentistry for a while and have enjoyed my experience over time…read morebut most recently, one of the receptionist, Patty, was very short and rude. Called me the day prior to confirm my appointment and I recall our conversation juggling between the idea of putting me on a short list and pushing me out to May 2026 or me potentially making the appointment if i could make it work. Towards the end of our conversation, Patty hung up on me and I was left with the assumption that I was being rescheduled to May 2026 and placed on a short list. The next day, I received a call from Patty asking if I was going to make my appointment. Confused by the call because I was under the impression that I was being rescheduled to May 2026 and didn't get any clarity on the appointment because i was hung up on. Even when trying to make the appointment that Patty said i was still able to make, I wasn't able to be seen and was charged a $50 dollar fee due to a misunderstanding. Several times during my interaction with Patty i said, "I really think this is a misunderstanding" but she unprofessionally would say, "I don't think so" or "the last thing you said is you'd be here". But again, because I was hung up on, I was unsure of what the agreement was. The last thing I recall was I was being rescheduled to May. Customers aren't always right, but they should always feel heard. I wasn't trying to make an excuse, I simply was trying to explain my side of the misunderstanding but I was dismissed. Again, the staff here is always great and this was my first time interacting with Patty. Just wasn't the best experience compared to my prior visits to Huffman Family Dentistry.

I finally found a dentist in Anchorage I like!…read more Look on Yelp for Dentist reviews and you'll find a weird situation. Lots of polarization, lots of flagged reviews, it's the wild-wild west out there. I main reasons I decided to check out midtown: - Close to my job (can walk from work) - Accepted by my insurance Another, dumb, reason: it's a pretty cool, modern-looking building. I came here after I experienced hard-selling and fear-mongering tactics at another Dentist. I wanted to get a second opinion. Boy, am I glad I did. Staff here are friendly and professional. Appointments are timely. The lobby is beautiful. You can choose your own music or watch Netflix while you get drilled/scrapped/polished. I had Dr. Adam Jensen for my dentist, he was great. He had a data-driven yet practical approach. I wish I knew he was a peak bagger (just found it out by creeping the website), we'll have so much more to talk about next time!

I went specifically for a cleaning but was told I had to come back. By this point, I had already invested my time and effort and I went back for the following reasons: - I liked Dr. Tudor - The office was clean, inviting and full of modern equipment. I've now been here for two cleanings and have been attended to by the same hygienist, who is very thorough. You know you got a good cleaning when you leave with some pain (good pain)! Except on my last visit, she nearly chipped my tooth by pulling out the reflection mirror too quickly (bad pain). I'll be back, mainly because I don't feel like searching for yet another new dentist and also because I do feel like they are honest. I inquired about both whitening and Invisalign and they advised I did not need either.

She was taken from the lobby and then waited by herself in a room for 45 minutes before being seen by anyone. The extra procedure they did on her was $1,000 extra and they had no problem billing that amount. The extra procedure took 3 days to recover from and I would not have said yes to it. I called several times to speak with a manager and despite leaving messages with people and on voicemail, the manager never responded. I just got calls from the front desk asking to be paid. When I told them that I was changing dentists and wanted to leave with no bills they said I was squared up -owed nothing. Months later they called me about a payment that they found I owed. I could go on and on, but not worth any more of my time. This place is overpriced and unprofessional.

My sister's been a nurse for years and the dental hygienist berated her about her presumably high blood pressure. She then went into depth about "teaching" her about her teeth and gums, and proceeded to poke her gums until her entire mouth was bleeding. She felt shamed and violated. This woman should be held accountable and/or fired. The appt was around 11 on November 3rd. I'm guessing she has had other complaints. And you've just lost a client who also owns her own business and has sent people to this dental office as well.

Everyone I encounter at MFD is respectful, intelligent, kind and professional. The front desk staff is very welcoming and helpful. I have seen a number of hygienists as I just take next available; every single one of them is great. All three of the doctors are excellent at what they do. They are good at explaining the process and options, helping to guide decision-making and the technical work itself. They also do a nice job of threading the needle when it comes to over and under treatment; I trust their advice when they say we can wait and monitor or it's time to deal with a problem. Really, I can't say enough nice things about them.

I had a horrible office experience. When I walked into the Anchorage Dental Arts office, the front…read moredesk receptionist was rude, pretending to be on the phone until my mother came in. Most of the employees and the doctor were in the office, but usually there are only two or one in the office, including the front desk receptionist. That day was different (which had never happened to me before), and it seemed like they were making sure I didn't have a fit (which I didn't) or have any problem, which I find very unprofessional and immature. After my mother came in, she hung up the phone, and most of the employees and the doctor disappeared from the office, except for two or one, including the front desk receptionist, as I said before, which again I find very unprofessional and immature. After the front desk receptionist hung up the phone, she briefly stared at me and looked away while other clients or customers were waiting, which I find unusual because every time I go to Anchorage Dental Arts, I rarely see that many clients or customers waiting at the office. I believe it is a setup, at least that's what I think. Anyway, the front desk receptionist made me stand there like an idiot or a fool until I sat down by myself. At least the front desk receptionist could tell me to sit down or something, but she didn't. While I was sitting down and waiting, the front desk receptionist came out of the office and helped and talked with the other clients or customers, but did not say anything to me, which I find very rude. The front desk receptionist did not say anything to me at all until I left without any problem with my mother. I would like to say this again. I believe it is a setup, at least that's what I think.

Ok, this is going to be a lengthy review! Sit tight…read more I left another practice in Anchorage because of miscommunication. I do not hide the fact that I am not a fan of dentist offices. What helps me with my anxiety is trust. I like to see the same person again and again. So, a little mix-up at previous office has caused me to no longer feel confident about the dentist. I figured I should empower myself to find an office that I can learn to trust practitioners again. Libby Group didn't have that much of review and that was my first doubt. But I am so happy to trust my instincts and some friends' word of mouth. I went for it and made an appointment. First, the office is really very cozy! They are not fancy with the TV and being able to watch Netflix while getting your teeth cleaned (like my previous office) but I have found that establishing trust and good relationship with my dentist to be much more important eventually! The office also has AMAZING view of mountains, OH MY! I thought that my first appointment would be an hour or less...WRONG! I filled out a very comprehensive personality traits questionnaire then was schooled very clearly about my oral health after examinations. They used a tiny camera to take pictures of my teeth and an iPad to explain what work needs to be done on that particular molars. I have never learned so much about my own oral health in one sitting. Enough to want to do better for myself. Dr. Libby is a tall, friendly, and warm lad that I have come to slowly trust. He openly admit that he will not be perfect but he will always try his best and that is enough. I asked them to keep the same people: assistant, hygienist, and doctor whenever I come in. They are happy to oblige to that. I have been there for three separate visits. Lastly, my few favorite things about the office: cool outdoorsy swags you get after your visit, not having to sit for long time in the lobby which makes my anxiety much worse, and staff greeting me in sign language whenever I come in! FYI: I currently see Nikki for my cleanings (this chick is awesome! I feel like she's on my team to help me have healthier gums) Dr. Libby as my DDS, and my all time favorite assistant Kristen who is an angel FYI.
