Unlike most reviews, I have a very different experience.
So here is the story:
I got an initial assessment done from Ancaster Family Chiropractic. Everything went well with that; they then booked me for a follow-up.
The follow-up assessment started with a presentation, a one on one follow up, and a treatment. The presentation was filled with anecdotes about how better people feel after coming here. That was the first thing that made me extremely suspicious. Number two; I found the presentation to be condescending as it is presented in a teacher/student way, which I feel was a fear based selling tactic to make the client feel clueless. It was basically fear mongering about certain different musculoskeletal issues that can easily be taken care of by physio and massage therapy. Due to his credit, it is smart, because if you overwhelm the client by information, they will likely to accept a treatment plan so kudos to the high pressure tactics by Ancaster Family.
The one on one assessment was interesting to say the least. Same as the presentation, fear mongering tactics all in the basis of Chiropractic subluxation theory, which is demonstrably false and misleading.
After the assessment, Dr. Neil Brown discussed the plan with me in terms of treatments and stuff, and the total amount with all this. Dr. Neil Brown was ignoring my concerns on the financial issues. I said I wouldn't be able to pay for this. He responded (I am paraphrasing), "Let's not talk about money right now. Let's go over more about the plan." He also brought up an idea how I can pay back my fees to the clinic by working at some of their events. When this was mentioned, I felt very uncomfortable and not to mention it only got worse. I wanted to talk about money, and why I wasn't able to do it.
I told him that I was thankful for the treatment but I am going to do my dd on the plan and I will get back to you whenever I can. Neil didn't like the sounds of that and continued to add a few more high pressure sales tactics. It took another 10 minutes of me politely saying no until there was a misunderstanding, that he thought I was fine paying for a whole treatment plan, when I said no such thing.
Which then lead to me talking to Neil again for another 5-10 minutes. He ended up charging me for the treatment that I had (which he didn't mentioned. The only part was mentioned was a class and follow up on results).
For time sakes, there were other uncomfortable feelings about this place, but for time sakes, I am going to keep it short to this review.
I have been to a few offices in hamilton area. This was by far the worst experience and recommend others in West Mountain area.
