Michelle, the main instructor, was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the challenging process of pursuing my dream to dance. I wasn't sure where to start, what classes to take, or how to move forward, but she made it so much easier. I've been attending for six weeks now, and I absolutely love it! I'm finally doing what I've always dreamed of, and it feels amazing. You don't have to be crazy talented or have any prior experience. There are multiple instructors who are so supportive and help guide you every step of the way. I've had such an incredible time and can't wait to continue on to the next class!

People are friendly and welcoming to visitors esp since local community is fairly small. Beginners welcome and they toss in a fun dance class at the beginning. Data for dancers: Ratio of songs are 4 bachata: 4 salsa: 2 zouk/kizomba/merengue, with a bias towards whatever dance was taught that night. Danced mainly as a lead and didn't run out of dances. :) For salsa, more on1 than on2 dancers (music leans Romantica). I'll be stopping by whenever I'm in Anchorage on a Friday night! :)

Dance has always been a passion of mine, and I greatly missed training in my adult life. I figured now that I live in a new state dance could be a fun way to connect me with new people who share similar interests. Upon searching for adult classes I stumbled upon Studio Pulse. They offer a wide variety of adult classes including Hip-hop, yoga, and a burlesque inspired class at their sister studio, The Annex. I was interested in their adult ballet classes, and lucky for me they were offering a 10 week series for people with ballet experience. I immediately emailed to ask about the class, and make sure I wasn't about to get my butt handed to me in front of a bunch of 16 year olds. The owner, Stephanie, was super prompt in her email reply, and let me know if I didn't feel comfortable with the skill level of the class I could drop down to the beginner course. I immediately signed up! On the first day of my 10 week series I was greeted by Stephanie, who showed me around the studio and made me feel so welcomed. Stephanie and the front desk staff are always very pleasant and friendly. They are also taking COVID precautions seriously, which shows they care about their staff and students. The studio is a really nice space with a great lounge for the young dancers to socialize in between training. Everything is clean and well maintained. The intermediate/adv adult ballet class is taught by Liz, who is an excellent ballet teacher. She is very passionate about ballet, and puts together great barre and floor work. They teach several styles of dance at this studio, and have the classes broken up by age/skill level. They also have a dance company that is on a try out basis. It seems they put on several showcases a year where the students can show off what they learn. The studio also has a lot of class variety for adult dancers of all skill levels. I am very happy I found this studio, and will be looking into taking another class series once this one ends. If my children are ever interested in dance I will definitely be enrolling them at this studio.

Stephanie the owner put out incredible free classes for use during quarantine, and now is taking sanitizing and distancing super seriously for in person classes! Check them out if you're looking for great workouts, you won't be sorry.

I attended a performance put on by Arctic entries. It was wonderful . The Alaska Center for the performing arts is beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made sure that all guests were comfortable and had everything they needed. The acoustics in the theater are outstanding. The seating is comfortable and offers great views from every angle , making it very easy to fully enjoy the performance . As I said earlier the show was spectacular featuring talented local residents who clearly put their hearts and souls into their seven minutes they had on stage to share their story . The atmosphere was warm, and the audience was certainly engaged from the start to finish. I highly recommend the Alaska Center for the performing arts to anyone looking for a memorable and high-quality cultural experience. Whether you're a local Alaskan or a visitor to Anchorage, this venue offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy world class performances and a stunning setting.

It is nice to see a Broadway performance in Anchorage. Tickets ranged from $49 and up. Seats near the stage were over $150 while we opted for the Mezzanine seats @ $49. As you can see from the Mezzanie picture, we had wonderful seats. Overall: 4 stars for the Musical, the friendly staff, comfortable seats. The theater itself is beautifully decorated. I had never done any difficult kind of dance before but my friend had told me not to worry and that it takes time to learn... This was a horrible experience for me, I literally cried after the class. We all did a group practice and I was completely lost 3/4 of the way through because the teacher didn't explain anything, some other girls were lost as well, so I know it wasn't just me. After the group practice (which I finally started to understand through repetitiveness) she had us go one by one and do some sort of running jump (I'm sure there is a name for it, I just don't know it) and all the girls did great of course but seeing as how I had no clue how to do it I just jumped a little and went back in line and as I did so the teacher was literally screaming at me to not give up and that I couldn't be in her class if I gave up... She could've tried to teach me how to do it correctly but no, she wanted to just scream at me. I know dance teachers are very strict and expect the best but she knew I was new and I kind of expected her to actually teach. I will never go there again, I don't like being yelled at for no reason.
