It took two days and reaching out through multiple modes of communication (text, phone) to hear back from them. Once I did, I was told they could clean on Friday, so we planned our schedule around that. When no one showed up, I called and was told that a Google/Outlook calendar invite had been sent for Saturday because "someone else had taken the Friday slot." If you're texting a customer that you'll be there on Friday, that's the expectation--especially when there was no direct communication that the day had changed. The price of the service had also significantly increased since last year - they wanted to charge us $455 to clean a beach house that was generally clean. When my husband declined, they dropped their price. In the end, we paid $300 which was still very expensive for what we got, as described below. When the cleaners arrived, they were at the house for only about an hour, yet we were billed for an hour and a half. They arrived a few minutes late and spent a fair amount of time chatting, touring the house, etc, before getting started. I don't mind friendly conversation at all, but I do mind paying for time that wasn't actually spent cleaning. The quality of the cleaning itself was also just average. The house was already generally clean, so the focus was supposed to be on dusting, cleaning the floors, and generally doing a deeper clean than the cursory clean we do each time when we leave the beach house. Unfortunately, when we came back to the house after the cleaning we were disappointed to find significant dust bunnies under the beds, sand under the carpets, and the dirty dishes in the dishwasher hadn't even been run let alone put away. Overall, the house looked okay, but it wasn't cleaned to the standard we expected. We appreciate that they squeezed us into their schedule, but based on the communication, billing, and quality of the cleaning, we'll likely look elsewhere the next time we're at the shore.
