I'm disappointed in my care here. My dental history has always been positive - haven't had a cavity since I was a child, visit dentist 2x/year for cleaning and exam, brush & floss daily etc. My care here started off fine, and I also referred my husband here. My last visit here, they told me I had a cavity. I was shocked. Since I was about to move to another city, I quickly booked an appointment here to get the cavity filled before my move. They did a huge filling and I was sensitive in that area for a few weeks because it was hitting my nerve. I called them and they said to come in to have it looked at. They did a bit more work on it and the sensitivity somewhat lessened but came back again. The tooth remains sensitive to some foods/drinks and when I floss. I've since seen a new dentist who looked over the x-rays from that initial cavity detection and he let me know that this should have just been observed instead of straight to a filling since it was so minor, and that there was also no reason for such a huge filling. My new dentist noticed a similar shadow on another tooth that Ananian's staff chose to not fill but decided to fill the other? I will likely need a root canal from this filling in my future and I wish I would have gotten a second opinion before proceeding here. read more

He has been my dentist for a few years now. Dr. Ananian and Dr. Melody are the best. They are gentle, knowledgeable and compassionate. I never knew a dentist could be like this. I had some pretty rough ones. It made me really not like going to the dentist plus I'm terrified of needles. That was until I found them. Wish I would have found them sooner. I drive 30 minutes to this office and pass at least 20 dental offices on my way there. I found him on my Facebook neighborhood page under the recommendation of many of my neighbors that also make the drive to him. Him and his team are the best around and worth the drive. Been coming here for a few years now and I actually enjoy going to the dentist, thanks to Dr. Ananian and his crew! Was recommended by a former coworker and am soooo glad I came upon this place. They've been amazing during COVID, and have made my visits feel very safe. Everyone from the front desk to the assistants to the dentists have been so friendly and accommodating through the years. You can definitely tell they care about their patients. I can't recommend this place enough! Parking can be a little tricky during peak times, but I've usually gotten lucky with street parking right out front. Can't wait till my next visit! read more

We had our first appointment with Ananian Dental Group this morning and I can't say enough about them! All I ever hear about from other moms in my circle is how amazing Dr. Ananian is with their kids, it was finally time to make the switch and I swear I wont ever look back after this morning. First and foremost, there is street parking only. Do not park behind the business as you will be towed if you do. I had no problem finding street parking at that time. The office is your first door to your left when you walk in, I thought the front desk personnel was very kind and welcoming. I like that there are individual rooms for teeth cleanings instead of cramming kids in one room. Dr. Ananian saw us first so he could check my daughters teeth and there were no cavities. He even took the time to scrape the very back teeth because he noticed a bit of plaque, I know that his time is valuable and the fact that he did that was incredibly nice of him. My daughter does have a fear of dentists due to a bad experience in a prior office, she said Dr. Ananian was really gentle and she liked him a lot. The lady at the front desk took the time to bring my daugther a squishy, which she said they normally do in case kids get scared. Squishies are my daughters favorite and that was such a plus for her! It really made her day. Also, do take the time to look at the framed puzzles that are in each room and around the office. They are just amazing! The hygenist finished the appointment up for us and did a great job with her cleaning, she let my daughter choose the flavor of toothpaste and once that was done, fluoride was applied and we were on our way! I'm so glad that I listened to my mom friends that recommended Dr. Ananian and his office because they really are a top notch dental office. My daughter looks forward to her next visit! read more

I've been going to Dr. Ananian for a very long time. He is great and his entire staff is just wonderful. I'm actually going in to have an old gold crown that finally broke and came out repaired. This dentist was recommended repeatedly in a parents' group I'm in as a great kid-friendly family dentist. While they have decent rapport with my toddler, they didn't do the main thing you go to a dentist for: treat and protect her teeth. First visit went as expected, my 2yo was not super into it but they were able to take a look inside and count her teeth. They had toys ready and the environment was friendly and fun. Before our second visit, I noticed some obvious cavities in the front of her teeth and was grateful we had a dental appointment coming up. Took my child in and was shocked when the dentist took a look and quickly announced there were no cavities. I pointed out the ones I had seen and the dentist said, "oh yeah you're right, looks like she has those 2. I am going to have to refer you out to a pediatric dentist because we don't treat patients that young here." Excuse me?? Why am I here at all?? Why did you take on this patient you have no capability of treating?? Btw, after seeing a pediatric dentist, she ended up having over EIGHT CAVITIES (confirmed through X-ray and camera) and got FOUR CROWNS to protect her teeth until her adult ones come in. Turns out her teeth are very close together and soft enamel, super easy for cavities to form (plus usual toddler anti-brushing antics). I am so disappointed in what a waste of time this office was for my child. And a better dentist would've probably noticed those cavities forming on the initial visit and given us some preventative measures. I promptly ended my and my daughter's care here. If I can't trust them to take care of my daughter's teeth, then I won't trust them with mine either. read more

My family and friends been treated disrespectfully from Dr. Ananian Office Manager Evelyn and dealt with racial comments from his dental staff. Evelyn, is extremely rude and will hang up on you if you need to reschedule or need to cancel an appointment. She will not let you finish your sentence. She will also harass you and treat you like a child to get you to confirm an appointment. With regards of racial comments from his dental staff I have tried to speak with Dr. Ananian about it but he is always with a patient which is understandable. I ask if he can call me when he can which he has done once and reassured it will never happen again but unfortunately it has. The other times it happened I asked if I can speak with him and Evelyn says no or she will say " I will let him know" but he never calls back. So I don't know if she actually tells him or he just doesn't want to. My family and friends go here but they all expressed the same experience especially with regards to Evelyn. All of this I have tried to speak with Dr. Ananian about but I never get a call back or able to speak with him. I tried holding off before writing this review to see if he would call but he hasn't. We just cannot continue the abuse from Evelyn and the racial comments this office has done anymore and don't want anyone else to experience it either. read more

Been going to them for more than 10 years I absolutely LOVE going to the dentist. Yes, you read that correct; I look forward to my appointments. This group is professional and amazing. They never do anything more than they need to. I found them after another place lied and said that I needed thousands of dollars of work--which I knew was BS--so I went to these guys in 2006 and have been going twice a year ever since. Dr. Ananian has been my awesome dentist for countless years!! (I lost count since he took over from the other dentist who has a practice out of state now. I think I have gone to that location for 17 years now.) He is such an amazing dentist that I drive from Santa Clarita to see him. He is honest, very caring and always professional. I always have been nervous to see any doctor, let among a dentist, but Dr. Ananian specializes in working with patients like me who get nervous so that I feel comfortable. My last visit for a cleaning on April 10th was so positive that I knew I needed to write this review. The staff was so welcoming and understanding since I need later afternoon appointments or Saturday appointments to avoid missing work, if possible. They greeted me upon my arrival in a friendly demeanor and wished me well when I left. My dental hygienist took the time to let me know step by step what was happening during my cleaning. Then my consultation with Dr. Ananian was thorough yet painless plus done before I knew it. I have had to get root canals and other work that can be more than one visit, but Dr. Ananian makes sure to guide me in the process. If he is not able to do the procedure, he calls in top notch specialists to his office. The specialists are always professional, caring and guide me through the process, too. I have had to call Dr. Ananian with questions to feel more comfortable with different procedures and he will personally call me back or relay answers to staff to tell me. He truly cares about his patients by having open communication and being very positive. He is a preferred dentist with my insurance. 6 stars read more

I've been seeing Dr. Carslon, Dr. Hecht, and Dr. Ananian for about 20 years. I started coming to this office when I was 8 years old! Super clean and stylish office. Friendly hygienists and the Dentists are all great. I needed major bonding/capping done on my two front teeth and Dr. Hecht (who is an artist too) did a marvelous job and they look perfectly normal now. I will not go anywhere else! I had to go on my husband's insurance when we got married 8 years ago and switched dentists. BIg mistake!!!! Was thoroughly freaked out by the other dentist and said I needed a ton of work and deep cleaning... Paid out of pocket to come back to Dr. Hecht who reassured me that nothing was wrong. Thankfully, my husband got a new job with new benefits and we are back to Dr. Hecht! read more

I never thought I'd write a review of a dentist, but this guy is a gem. I usually go to Dr Rosen in Canoga Park, but I always felt like I was in the presence of a used car salesman. Apparently I'm not alone from the reviews. So I chipped my tooth, and needed a dentist, FAST. A friend recommended Dr. Ananian, and after a pleasant phone call with the staff ("You have a chipped tooth? Let me talk to the doc for a second and see how fast i can get you in here."), I was sert with my appointment. Staff was polite, professional, and had great personality. The doc was calm, in no rush, and explained everything to me. Front tooth chipped, so he explained what he could do now (basic fill), and what could be done in the future (veneer). Explained cost, pros and cons, how long I could expect it to last. No pressure, no upsell, no rush to get me in and out. Just a genuine concern for the patient. Sat with me after and asked how I felt, if I had any questions, etc. This is my new dentist. End of Story. =) read more

This place is wonderful, I'm not much for visiting the dentist. Every time I go I get bad news so I guess not going as often as needed and bad news come hand in hand. I give this place a 5 star, although I do have a few issues and was anticipating pain (I hate pain) dr Ananian was virtually painless. I hardly noticed him pricking my mouth with a needle the size of my arm ... I even waited for some pressure pain so I can flinch a little like "no please stop" but I felt NOTHING! Aside from the lack of pain I'm really impressed with his work my tooth looks great if feels firm he did exactly what I wanted gave me straight forward logical advice. Also no wait. We feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Ananian and his wonderful team. My son and daughter had their appointments last week. Everyone was so friendly and explained every step to my kids. They helped them feel comfortable and cared for. After their appointments, they got to chose a toy! Plus they each received a little bag with a tooth brush and tooth paste. Today my husband and I had our appointments. We decided to take all 3 of our kids and take turns getting our teeth cleaned. While I was getting my teeth cleaned and x-rays done, the office receptionist gave the kids some toys to play with and take home! Dr. Ananian has been the friendliest and most attentive dentist that I've been too. He answers all my questions and was very informative. After I came out, my husband went in. Not only was everyone already so friendly to us, but they made us feel so comfortable and not embarrassed that we had brought our three children with us. Don't get your night guards done here. I've never had one before, so I trusted the doctor to make me the most advanced one. The one that I got was bulky and very uncomfortable. After giving it a try it ended up at my nightstand unused. No follow up phone call from the office on my night guard, would have been nice to see if they cared on how it was fitting. They don't! I have a different dentist now, and his nigh guard is so comfortable. I wish i never came to see this doctor. read more
