It has been frustrating dealing with Anait Alabyan Dental Clinic that this coming August 2024 it will have been a one-year ordeal. My 78-year old mother sought this clinic's help in August 2023 to have her dentures fixed and up to now it's still pending. Granted there is a process with the insurance company but there is no consistency and efficiency in communication and action. In my last conversation in April, staff told me the insurance company was hacked so there was a halt in information flow. I was told I will be called the next day for an update but no call ever came. DO NOT TRUST that they will call you. Call them instead which is what I did seven weeks later, i.e. one month and a half. Why that long? I gave them more than enough time. Perhaps too much time. I called today, 06/18/24, and the staff I spoke with said she was out for the whole month of May and apparently no one took care of my mother's case. There was no endorsement whatsoever so the patient's case, as the staff herself put it, "FELL THROUGH THE CRACKS". She added there were too many patients to take care of. POOR STAFFING is most likely a problem in this dental clinic. This staff further tells me she will be leaving the clinic in two weeks and assured me someone will follow up and that the best thing she can do now is to put the patient on the priority list. What was one to do to be put on the priority list, I asked. She had no answer. We are losing confidence in this clinic. In the meantime the patient relies on her very old dentures for nutrition and tolerates them during awkward social situations. Will I get an update in time? Is there really a priority list? Will being put on it make any difference? Does the clinic care about patient feedback? Will it do something, anything to resolve unpleasant experiences. We'll see. The one-year mark is approaching. read more

The dentist is great but this is the second time scheduling has been an issue. I booked two deep cleaning appointments and I was about to come in, running 5 mins behind because of work, but was just told I have no appointments. The gentleman said he told me he would let me know of availability but that is absolutely a lie. I put both appointments on my calendar when I booked them. I work full time and had to ask for time off to make these appointments. I feel they do not respect my time so I will look for another dentist. Truly disappointed. read more

I forgot how amazing this office is. After moving away for a few years, I returned to the neighborhood. I can't tell you how excited I was that Dr. Alabyan took our insurance. And for the first time our kids were excited to see the dentist. (Once you go you'll understand). From the moment you walk through the door, you are made to fee welcomed. I'll admit I am a bit of a baby to tooth pain, and this is the only dentist I have had that listened, cared for my irrational fears, and gently handled my issues without pain what so ever. First let me say in my 55 years of going to a dentist I have never had a better dentist office ..( Been coming here 8 years ) First let me start with Maria the front desk associate ..She is a google of insurance benefits and an encyclopedia ( dating myself )of all things dental related ..Her kindness and friendliness is off the charts as well..Seeing her every few months is like visiting an old friend .. The dental hygienist Morgana was from another planet..she was part dental professor ( explaining everything she was doing with perfect Precision.) Her manner was that of a nurturing . kind..gentle professional who was not only amazing with her abilities but her personality was so sweet and caring that for a second I thought I was being pranked ..Even during my deep clean her words were not only comforting but her knowledge of dentistry seemed to rival a dental school professor or a long practicing dentist ... Unprofessional and unacceptable handing of customer appointments. Background: I scheduled my initial appointment to see Dr. Alabyan back in February for tomorrow April 12th so I could coordinate my other medical appointments on this one day and take a single day off from work to minimize the impact on my professional schedule. Situation: Well, the receptionists at Dr. Alabyan decide to call me today, April 11th, at 4:22pm to cancel my appointment because the office would be closed. The only explanation I got was an "I'm sorry" and a "can we re-schedule you?" No, you may not (btw, I was on hold for 20 mins total between three different receptionists). I'll take my business elsewhere to a practice that can actually communicate with their customers in a timely manner and keep their appointments. I understand that things happen in life, and sometimes we need to be flexible, but if it's less than 24 hours before the appointment time, you're too late. Resolution: NEXT. read more

I've been beyond terrified of any dentist for 30+ years. Since coming to Dr. Alabyan, I no longer dread the dentist. Thanks to the incredibly caring staff, Dr. Alabyan's expertise and bedside manners, I happily drive 32 miles round-trip to see them. She has the patient's best interest at heart, and is very knowledgeable. My left front tooth had been damaged years ago, and was turning gray. Two other dentist recommended pulling the tooth and putting in an implant...! Dr. Alabyan treated the tooth without pulling it, and even brought it back to white by bleaching it from the inside. She's amazing, and so is the entire team there. (Special shout out to Maria at the front desk, who's an absolute doll!) read more

This office is uncaring and motivated by money more than conscientious service. Dr. Alabyan is a provider for Denti-Cal insurance, however she refused to perform work on our child without an "authorization", even though the procedure is 100% covered. She agreed ONLY if we paid her over $300; she then reduced the charge. We agreed, saying we would then go after reimbursement from Denti-Cal but she then refused to do the treatment at all! (Because she would need to refund US the money, as the insurance company would pay her and not us. Denti-Cal pays only half of the fee she would have charged.) Her office was baiting & switching. She takes our insurance but won't do work covered under their plan. It is actually illegal for a Denti-Cal dentist to charge patients for work that is 100% covered. The most disturbing aspect is the patient is a 13 year old girl who had broken her two front teeth in a fall. This dentist is a mother herself, she should be ashamed of herself.....to refuse treatment to a child in need of it. We found another dentist in Encino, who immediately performed the work on our daughter and did a fantastic job. You can't tell her teeth were ever broken. read more

After over ten years with this doctor, she told me on a recent check up that I had six cavities and needed a full mouth debridement and fillings which would cost close to $4,000 out of pocket. My wife and young son were also told they have 2 cavities each and would required additional work done out of pocket. I would know if I had 6 cavities, and I didn't believe her. Yesterday, my wife and I had a second opinion which revealed that there is nothing wrong with our teeth. I have tormented for over 3 days about writing this review because I am a doctor as well and know how these reviews can effect your practice. I am shocked by the moral and ethical nature of this situation. Imagine injecting, drilling, and intentionally hurting your patient for financial gain? How many other people has she done this to? I can only think about my previous exams and treatments. I don't see this as practicing dentistry, I see it as malpractice and fraud. Beware!!!! They were nice and took me in right away. But once it came to having to quote me, I sat there for almost 45 minutes waiting. Not a big deal, it happens. But then they come back and quote me $2600! One of those things were $975 for a deep cleaning. I called my insurance and they tried to overcharge me for EVERYTHING. And on top of overcharging, some of the Codes they used (which is how we determined the overcharging with my insurance) DID NOT EXIST. Just went to a dentist that is ETHICAL and not trying to scam me out of my money, and my deep cleaning cost $320 WITH antibiotics, anesthesia and my copay. Dr. Alabyan and her staff are wonderful! I have three children and when my 7 year old needed his cavity filled, they were more then accommodating. Even covered him with a blanket because he was cold! The staff is professional and courteous and our whole family feels incredibly relaxed seeing the dentists here. Maria at the front is just a JOY! I saw Dr Alabyan because her office accepts my insurance and I needed a new dentist. I have pretty good teeth overall so mostly I was looking for a routine checkup and cleaning. Little did I know I was about to waste 90 minutes of my day. During my visit the staff took X-rays and the doctor examined my teeth and gums. She pointed out that while things were generally good I had some deep pockets in my gums in two places and she would recommend a "deep cleaning" to clear up the problem. Apparently "deep pockets" was code for me wanting to spend a lot of money, because the estimate for the deep cleaning came to over $700! That's fine, I said I would delay that until I had better insurance. Could they do the basic cleaning to start? Nope. They offered to do a basic cleaning on the top teeth but not the bottom, because they discovered some gum issues on the bottom and a deep cleaning was required first. It would be "unethical" for them to clean the bottom teeth because this would somehow fool me into thinking I don't have a problem. The explanation was pretty puzzling and when challenged, ended with "well that's our policy." Strange policy. Of course I left. I am not sure who falls for this or even what the game is. Who, upon coming in for a fully covered cleaning, decides, sure, I'll spend an extra $700 on this no questions asked? I don't see how it's unethical to give me my options and let me decide with full information. A basic cleaning does no harm. Otherwise the office staff and doctor were friendly and professional. But ultimately they refused to work with me on my dental health, which defeats the purpose. read more

Love these ladies! Maria, the receptionist, is always so sweet on the phone and wasvery flexible with my schedule and allowed me to cancel and re-book multiple times for my filling. Very nice staff, very nice dentist who gave me minimal concerned guff at not flossing regularly. The dentist really listened to me me about my allergies and paid attention when I told her that I absorb novocaine quickly. She hustled to make sure I stayed pain-free and gave me some good advice for my TMJ. I'm so lucky everything was covered by my HealthyWay LA, because I couldn't afford any of this otherwise. Let me start off by mentioning that I am beyond terrified of dentists. In November I had an infection in my wisdom tooth and was referred to Dr. Alabyan due to her being so gentle and kind. I went in and was told I needed to remove all four of my wisdom teeth and had twelve cavities (I know, gross). Anyways we scheduled my cavities and the removal of my wisdom teeth. The cavities I wasn't so worried about as I have had them done in the past, but my wisdoms, lets say I rescheduled to put it off a few months cause of my fear. Dr. Arthur performed my wisdom teeth removal as Vanessa was by me the whole time, holding my hand (literally). The process all in all took 20 minutes and it was the most painless thing ever, my recovery was amazing, I had to only take one ibuprofen for pain and that was it. For anyone that is scared of dentists, don't be. ALL the staff there is beyond amazing and friendly. Thank you for taking my fear of dentists away! read more

They told me I had really bad gums and she wanted to charge me over $900 to fill them with some antibacterial filling and told me I had 2 cavities and I need to get a cleaning within the next month. Do not come here! Her staff is unprofessional and horrible! I called her office for a period of two months regarding an issue with a crown Dr. Alabyan did for my daughter. No one returned my calls after countless messages! Finally, I said I was looking into filing a claim with small claims court. Two days later, I received a lengthy email from Maria claiming that we owe them a balance. Instead of taking responsible for her failure to return my calls, she retaliated by attempting to collect allegedly "unpaid" fees - some of which are over two years old, which clearly is an example of retaliation related to our dispute over my daughter's crown and a blatantly unfair business practice. read more
