I visited for a simple decay issue, but he drilled into my tooth and damaged the root canal, causing me severe pain that lasted for days. When I tried to schedule an emergency follow-up, the office offered appointments only several days later--unacceptable when a patient is in agony due to their mistake. They refused to provide any refund for services that were not provided. I had to escalate the matter to my bank, insurance, and a lawyer to recover my money. Avoid this place at all costs. Use to go here for years; not anymore: Find another dentist, this one does shoddy work- obtuse; moves quickly, puts multiple crowns in mouth instead of one at a time, stopped listening to the client to pull one crown out, since they both were too low for adjustment. Doesn't check X-rays correctly - I had an abscess in one crown that was found by the new dentist. Anna Marie, office person, is indifferent, when office was validating parking, she shorted my time, I had to pay to get car out, called her up letting her know, because I couldn't leave the paying machine downstairs; she was indifferent about it, stayed quiet, unapologetic; and was defensive the following week, when I saw her in person. That's what I was getting, an indifferent experience from indifferent people after knowing of them for many years, they take zero responsibility, and they make you the problem, for calling them out on it; What was I looking for: An apology, for someone shorting me on the parking validation time; I got a defensive attitude instead - Wow, by bad. Doctor complaints about what it costs to operate; he should shut down one of his offices i.e., Encino office, and focus on his training, and attitude, it seems some of his employees are mimicking him; but, he like some others in the office, have picked up bad habits, and shut out correction, constructive criticism, and just put it on the client instead, they have hardened themselves numb to correction, and it's affecting their actions, and reputation to the client, of course they don't see that, just like they will not accept this yelp rating; but it's there. Overall, the staff there the front desk and all the women there were amazing, but then when I went to go take someone in for their appointment we get there they checked him and then told me to come back in three weeks. They couldn't do anything else for me until they got everything verified by my insurance I had verified everything as far as my insurance Prior to the appointment and me coming 45 minutes out my way to this appointment and they told me everything was OK and set up and I should be good for the appointment for the extraction and I get there and they tell me they can't do any inform me for the next three weeks until they get all my insurance verified. I was very upset. I got nothing done. Got sent home with over-the-counter medication's that I already had at home and was told nothing else just to call them back in three weeks or to wait for a callback to verify other insurance needs. I'm very upset that I didn't get anything done and I wish that these things would've all been things that I would've been told prior to me coming in just to get sent home with over-the-counter medication Very unprofessional and the doctor as I spoke to him did not want to hear anything. Every time I'd go in to see this doctor, he would do such a horrible job. The very last visit was for 2 crowns. He ordered crowns that were too big, and then put both of them so poorly and over-rushed that I had to come back not even a few days after due to excruciating pain and inability to chew / close my jaw. He once again rushed and tried to fix the problem with the fastest and cheapest solution which was shaving off some of the crown so I can close my mouth, instead of ordering a set of crowns that actually fit my mouth. Months after, I'm still experiencing pain and suffering from foul breath from what's called open margin on a crown - it's caused by either uneven application of dental cement or other errors in application of the crown. He simply doesn't care about his patients. He only cares about money. That's why he tries to get you in and out so quickly. He does his procedures in 5-10 minutes. You can't provide quality care within that about of time. The problem is that he doesn't want to. He's OK with doing a poor job & making a lot of money. The worst part is that I'm now stuck with him since my insurance said that only the same doctor who did my crowns originally can fix them otherwise (if I go to someone else) I have to pay for it myself. Which I might end up doing since this guy is an absolute joke of a doctor. See, here's the problem: He has the knowledge and degrees, so the only other thing he could be missing is actual genuine care and desire to help his patients. He only cares about money. I've been going to Dr. Manolescu for over 5 years, back when she was still practicing at another location in Beverly Hills. I have since followed her to this office in Encino. She is always informatve and is very gentle when cleaning each of her patient's teeth. I see her twice a year and she also did my Invisilign since I was too lazy to wear my retainers after high school. So far so good...I haven't had a cavity in years (*knocks on wood*). Hands down one of the best dentists out there and will go out of her way to make sure things are right with your teeth. read more

I was given this dentist by my insurance company and I am VERY dissatisfied with his treatment of me! The assistants were VERY caring and understanding but he was not! He got mad that I was screaming and could not let him remove the 10 or so remaining teeth in one shot. The 1st time he removed the top teeth and 1 bottom and gave me sooooo many shots of Marcaine that I lost track and he said I would only feel pressure - I felt PAIN and he did not believe me! I felt EVERY shot - even tho he said I would not - and I have some medical conditions that make numbing not always effective. The numbing (such as it was) lasted 16 hours! I could not make my 2nd appt and was told I HAD to be there. He finally agreed to let me change the appt and only did impressions for my dentures. The 3rd time I came in was the worst! The pain from the 1st jaw injection was HORRIBLE and when he gave me nore and I felt them again, he IMMEDIATELY started pulling my teeth and said he was going to sue me for screaming and scaring his patients! He threatened more than once in the middle of procedures to send me to an oral surgeon to be knocked out bc I had no pain tolerance and berated me for the condition of my teeth which he had no idea why they were like that! My gums bled for 20 hours last time and he forced the unfit dentures in my mouth while I was still raw and bleeding and asked if I wanted Advil - I could have bled to death or needed a transfusion! I have read great reviews but I ONLY have positive things to say about the ladies there! I have been signed over to a new dentist and will NEVER go back! read more

Such a bad experience with this dentist. I never write negative reviews, and the only other time I have I went and deleted it because I felt bad. BUT if I can save someone some grief and money, I think I can justify this review. Before my first appointment with Dr. Abadi, I called in to see if I could avoid getting X-Rays and they said no, since I was a new patient. Ok, understandable (even though I already had recent Xrays I could transfer from my last dentist). So I sucked it up and went in.. well, they proceeded to take Xrays, and by about #15 I yanked the thing out of my mouth and asked how many they were planning to do.. 18!!! Then they said I should have told them ahead of time that I didn't want Xrays. I was super bothered by this but I know I can be a bit of a worryier so I sucked it up and tried to brush it off ( the woman taking my xrays was very sweet and it wasn't her fault..actually all the women I spoke with working there were very nice). After this, Dr. Abadi came in for maybe 2 minutes, asked me a few random questions and took a very quick peek at my teeth- not using instruments or a light or anything- just had me open my mouth and declared I had some tartar build up, and then he left. I thought it was strange that he could even see what was going on with my teeth given the casual glance he gave them. *Side note - I am OCD about my teeth and keep v good care of them. So it's not like I was presenting them a mouth full of cavity filled snaggleteeth or anything So then, they come in with a $70 bill because they have to "scrape" my teeth- $45, and then "irrigate" my mouth -$25.... honestly trying to charge me $25 to rinse out my mouth? Get real. When I pointed out how outrageously ridiculous that part was after they confirmed it was a vague way of saying rinsing my mouth out, they quickly re printed me a new bill, taking off the irrigation part off... weird. My insurance fully covers teeth cleanings, so this was confusing me. This felt super fishy and I asked them to explain to me what they consider a teeth cleaning, and they responded "just polishing your teeth". I started to suspect this was a bit of a scam, so I walked out. When I got home, I called my insurance to double check to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding something and they agreed it seemed fishy, so my insurance threeway called me + the dentist.. when Dr. Abadi got on the phone, before anyone said anything besides hello, he, in the MOST aggressive and rude manner, told us he "didn't have time to sit here and talk for 45 minutes" and to "send a letter in the mail if you have a problem" and then slammed the phone down, leaving myself and my insurance person stunned on the other line. It was honestly so incredibly rude and unprofessional. My insurance person couldn't believe how he had just spoken to us. Save yourself a day of bad vibes and frustration and DO NOT GO HERE to support such an unprofessional + rude person. read more

My husband broke his tooth the afternoon of July 3rd. By the time I started calling dentists most offices were shutting down for the holiday weekend. Even though he was i extreme pain and couldn't eat, I heard "no" after "no." Soon I had run through every referral/connection I had...desperately, i started calling any and every phone number that a google search for 'Dentist Near Me' resulted in; it was now 4:30. By this time if I managed to reach a receptionist rather than an answering service, they could barely contain their incredulousness. When I asked if they could fit a new patient in with a broken tooth twenty minutes before closing down for Independence Day, invariably their was a pronounced silence as they composed themselves and fought back a fit of giggles at the impossibility of my request. (Oh yeah, to further complicate things, I was searching for a dentist who would accept Medi Cal). I looked at my husband miserable with pain, his poor face already swollen from the broken tooth and rapidly growing infection...'One more call' I told myself. The instant that the receptionist answered Dr. Abadi's line I knew that this call would be different and we might have a chance. I could literally the office thrumming with activity through the phone, but the receptionist did not sound stressed or grumpy. (Allow me to personally recognize Anna-Marie, our angel, the receptionist whom I spoke with...she saved us!!) I told her what happened and that I really needed an appointment for my husband. He was in agony...he couldn't eat and the pain was growing worse exponentionally. She asked how far we were from the office and said if you can make it here before 5pm (the office's closing time) I promise that I will find a way to fit him in. I could hardly believe what she was saying...but there was no time for disbelief I hustled my husband to the car and off we went. Anna-Marie was true to her word. Dr. Abadi took care of the broken tooth efficiently and painlessly. Now instead of being stuck in the emergency room with a broken tooth over the 4th of July, we are comfortably relaxing: catching up on Game of Thrones and getting ready for a BBQ. I am infinitely grateful for the compassionate and experienced staff at Dr. Abadi's. It would be amazing if they had done this favor for a long time patient or family friend or wealthy client paying an exorbitant fee...but we were complete strangers using Medi Cal. Worst place ever the male dentist cut my mouth open twice during two different procedures , he got the impression for my crown stuck in my tooth. They had to use a saw an try and cut it off my tooth it was so painful and he didnt do anything to help with the pain. The second time the same man cut my lip and my gums open with his tools not until after i left and the novicane wore off did i realize how bad it was. After I the xrays, to my surprise, they sent in another Dr. I asked what happened to Dr Abadi, then they told me he doesn't work on Thursdays. Shouldn't they tell me that when I made the appt? I would switch to a different day if I had known. They lost credibility then, it seemed they only want the business regardless. It has been over a year, staff continues to call even though I made it clear to her that I am not going back.
