He asked us tons of good questions and really wanted to get to know our situation rather than jump straight to IVF. We've struggled with infertility for 2 years and spent a year at a fertility clinic in Los Angeles (where we used to live), doing tests and 4 failed IUIs. At another consultation at Conceptions, Dr. Bush said IVF was really our only hope. But Dr. Gustofson at CCRM carefully looked at our records, noticed some areas where the Los Angeles clinic should have done better, and recommended trying IUI again. Dr. G is like a brilliant expert coach who wants to come alongside you to figure out the puzzle pieces. After our first IUI with him, we are now pregnant for the first time! We could have considered IVF if that was best for us, but we're so thankful that he took the time to really get to know our situation. After every conversation he asks "what other questions do you have?" and is always personable and knowledgeable. Also at CCRM, we have a dedicated nurse (Chris, who is amazing!) who has always gotten back to us the same day on questions, and calls us personally to explain lab results. The entire place is so well organized. Even before our positive pregnancy test we knew they had taken a process that was so painful and turned it into something filled with hope and answers. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I did one cycle of egg freezing here which was cancelled after 8 days. The cycle should have been canceled considerably earlier, but I wasn't permitted to speak to my doctor during the cycle, and whichever nurse called each day would repeat the same stock information that it's "up to the patient" whether to cancel and that some choose to do a retrieval with only 1-2 follicles. I was not in a situation where I would have chosen to do a retrieval with 1-2 follicles, and I'm pretty sure they are trying to avoid cancellations so it helps their stats. I was never given useful information from anyone about how/why my results day by day were so far below expectations, which would have given me the information I needed to advocate for myself and cancel the cycle. At my consultation I was told what would be a reasonable goal for my retrieval given my medical history and lab results. There was no discussion of the likelihood of a poor result, or the possibility that someone's first cycle could be so drastically below expectations. At my first ultrasound, it was clear something was wrong because I had so few follicles. Each subsequent ultrasound showed extremely slow growth to the point where on day 8 of medication, I had one follicle that was the appropriate size. When I regrouped with the doctor afterwards, she said this was not expected given my initial labs, and that I would probably do better a second time. When I asked how common my outcome was (really underperforming on their first round of IVF) for someone my age, she said it happens "about 50% of the time." I was shocked that if this was so common, she never mentioned it in my initial appointment. This would have better prepared me for my poor results during the cycle, or honestly changed my calculus of whether to do IVF at all. The doctor also mentioned that part of the reason she chose to continue my cycle (which obviously wasn't going to lead to success) was that she could gather data for subsequent rounds of IVF. I was never told this was one of the objectives, and had I known, I would have cancelled my cycle earlier. Everyone has different reasons for pursuing IVF, and different financial considerations, which will affect their choice of whether to cancel their cycle or not. But providing no information to patients about these tradeoffs, and honest assessments of their progress, is horrible medical care. You only get to communicate with nurses during your cycle - one is assigned to you during IVF, and each day a different one will call with your medication instructions. None of them are familiar with your situation at all, and at one point my assigned IVF nurse messaged saying that timed intercourse or IUI could be an option if the cycle didn't improve (I was trying to freeze eggs, not get pregnant). This practice took what was a normally frustrating experience of having to cancel an IVF cycle and made it multiple times more stressful and upsetting than it should have been with their horrible communication and the fact that I was repeatedly lied to by staff saying we should just wait until the next ultrasound to see if more follicles pop up. It was clear afterwards that for several days my doctor knew that wasn't realistic and was just using this cycle to collect data to prepare me for a second cycle (which I will of course not be doing here). I hope this review can help someone considering this clinic make a decision, or someone in the middle of a cycle here who isn't getting personalized care better advocate for themselves. On my last day of medication, after complaining enough I guess, I was able to talk to the head nurse, who gave me an honest assessment of my situation and tradeoffs, which led to me cancelling the cycle. Had the other nurses provided information remotely as thoroughly and helpfully as she had, I would not be writing this review.

Conceptions is the most incredible IVF clinic - definitely one of the best in the country, and in…read morethe world! Dr. Bush is a genius, and a very calm, steady figure, especially as the head of your IVF plan, as he was for ours. We came to Conceptions after years of infertility and recurrent miscarriages. After all the initial testing we decided to go with IVF as the success rates are very high here at conceptions. I almost didn't go through with IVF as the cost, stress of going through the process, and fear of it not working really weighed on me. Luckily, I didn't let that all stop me, so we went through the egg retrieval process. Dr. Chiang did my egg retrieval and I had pretty much no pain post OP - it went so much smoother than I could have imagined. (I was really afraid of having the retrieval and let horror stories on line scare me - lol!) Everyone was so kind and reassuring before and after the procedure. We had great success creating embryos, and after the first embryo transfer failed, Dr. Bush personally made sure he was there to do the trial transfer prior to the real one. He assured me the next transfer was going to work - and guess what - it did! We had a successful pregnancy and birth and the whole team - from IVF to transfers - made our dream of a family come true. I am so glad I came to Conceptions to go through IVF. I want to add that some people leaving reviews say they never saw the doctor but once or twice. While this may be true, please know that the doctors are working hard behind the scenes even when you're not meeting with them. They are creating your specially tailored protocol, going over your bloodwork and results, and making sure you are being taken care of. The IVF and transfer teams relay any messages from the doctors and are just as hard working too. Everybody at this clinic cares about you and your success. I have never had positive experiences with healthcare providers until I came to Conceptions. They make sure that you have the tools you need to have a successful IVF or transfer cycle, even when it feels so hard to go through. The doctors, the front desk staff, the nurses, the phlebotomists, the embryologist team, the ultrasound technicians, and even the billing department and financial coordinators all are kind, understanding, and thoughtful when communicating with you. I would choose Conceptions over and over again - they are truly a world class IVF clinic and I feel extremely lucky to have happened to live nearby and go through one of life's toughest medical treatments with these amazing medical professionals. I can't wait to come back in the future! Thank you Conceptions & Dr. Bush, for helping our miracle baby come into this world! You are a true blessing!

UPDATE: // TLDR Conceptions advised against IUI, which is the procedure we wanted to undergo. They gave no legitimate reason, and I doubt the doctor even reviewed my previous records as she said she would. I had 2 failed IVF protocols here, the first one of which was an improper protocol (by the doctor's own words). I was told my eggs were no good and I needed an egg donor ($55K+), but I went to my original clinic in Arizona and got pregnant on first attempt with IUI with minimal medication compared to IVF. 2 MONTHS LATER. We are now the proud parents of a healthy, beautiful baby girl. This clinic definitely feels like a cash grab and I'm convinced the doctor we had is full of s*** and primarily motivated by money not results. IUI costs maybe $1K vs IVF which is about $10K-20K for most people, even with insurance.

First, my husband is a physician and has the knowledge and savviness to navigate medical research. Because of this, he (knowing his only role was to provide a good sample) looked into the best way to optimize his sample. He discovered this device called ZyMot. ZyMot is essentially an obstacle course for sp*erm, that weeds out the slow and or defective sperm that may have genetic variations incompatible with successful egg fertilization. Obviously, given the fact that we were already paying so much money, my husband asked kindbody about this and why it was not offered or ever mentioned. He was told that this is only offered to people that do not have successful outcomes after their first cycle (so not until you've spent $20k +. He said he didn't care and wanted it to be added on, to which they replied " oh but that will be an extra couple hundred dollars (forget the exact amount). We laughed at the absurdity of this because of how much we were already spending, and demanded that it be added to our cycle. The pushback was absolutely not necessary, and I think every patient should be given all of the options, regardless of cost, to maximize the effectiveness of their cycle. To me it just seems shady but alas, hopefully people read this review and request the ZyMot. We had great outcomes and I can attribute this partly to the fact that we pushed for the most optimal technology for success. My second complaint is that we had an ultrasound and labs during our cycle on a Sunday morning, and hours later I missed a call from the nurse saying I needed to inject a medication as soon as possible in order to prevent ovulatio*n. I called the on-call nursing staff several times, I called my doctor several times, and nobody would answer. We drove to Kindbody and banged on the doors, hoping anybody would be in the building, and no answer. Again, my husband, being a physician, was able to locate a specialty pharmacy that was open on Sundays and prescribe me the prescription for this injection under his license. We did not receive a callback back from Kindbody until a few hours later. You can imagine the emotional urgency I was feeling in that moment, as I truly thought $20,000 + was about to go down the drain. When I asked why this happened I was told the nurse was on lunch... For hours... anyways my doctor was very apologetic and we are very happy with our outcome. I also work in healthcare as a provider, and unfortunately, there will always be very negative reviews, but I wanted to be fair with this one. I just want people to know that they must demand transparency and timeliness from the staff at all times, regardless of what medical setting.
