Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm and Shop

A must see on Washington Island!…read more I'm biased, because I LOVE the color purple. But come on....neatly arranged, shapely clumps of flowers laid out in a giant field? It's a beautiful (and fragrant) sight! There were so many butterflies and bees visiting all the flowers at our visit, that I took probably too much time trying to take the perfect photograph. There is a gazebo and benches amongst the lavender plants if you choose to relax out there, otherwise, there is a patio just outside the shop to relax on and enjoy your purchases. The shop is a cozy place with lavender EVERYTHING! Books, oils, sachets, perfume, soap, dried flower bunches, small dishes, pressed flowers, candles, jewelry..... There is a small counter area where you can purchase food and beverages, most of it lavender infused. I picked up a few caramels, and my husband bought me a lavender wine slushie. I am by no means a wine drinker, but this thing was delicious! The ladies inside the shop are very friendly and knowledgeable, and can give you recommendations on which kind of lavender plants to purchase when you get home (I don't think they sell plants there). Be sure to put this place on your list! 7/2025

The grounds are small, with a gazebo and a few photo spots, but surprisingly, there was little lavender scent in the air. Bathrooms are only accessible after paying admission. The gift shop and coffee counter were cute, but overall, the $5 entry felt underwhelming compared to other lavender fields in other states and countries.
