The owner, Pete, was very accommodating and professional about the whole situation and scheduled my drives quickly and efficiently. They give you full driving lessons here, starting with parking strategies and real-world applications of what will be on the driving test at the DMV. They really prepared me for my driving test as well as what I see on the road every day while driving. The instructor that I had was very friendly and respectful towards me. Totally recommend.

The practice tests and tests were taken in partners and in large groups so you could never gage your knowledge of the material that will be on the permit tests and the tests that you have to take to pass the class. The "Behind the Wheel" drives that you are required to do are very uninformative and are mostly driving on straight, two-lane roads without any instruction in parking, lane changing, or highway driving. This place was so bad that I had to switch driving schools part way through my "Behind the Wheel" section. I would strongly recommend going anywhere else other than this place.

Called Northwest and they stated they didn't have all of their information. They had asked for it while my daughters were taking driving lessons and my daughters copied their info and gave it to the instructors as asked. The office manager, Austin, said she never got it and there was nothing she could do. Said it happens often. So I ended up wasting a vacation day and my daughter were both extremely disappointed at not being able to test for their license. Office certainly has some process problems which they just state it was a paperwork problem and happens often. Oh well.... I would avoid them if you're looking.

Wes was a great instructor and Larry (the owner) was very helpful and friendly. This class beats all others because of the one-on-one instruction that students receive. There were four people in my class and everyone got direct and personal coaching on the spot. This was a great experience. Definitely would recommend LYRN2RYD to anyone wanting to learn how to ride a motorcycle.

It's fine to make a class fun and entertaining, but in the end, driving is serious business and there's a lot to learn and know in order to drive safely. My experience with this driving school as a parent was not good, to say the least! Each evening that I picked up my daughter after class, I asked her what she did in class and what she learned. Without fail, she said she learned nothing because all they did was watch videos about the perils of driving while under the influence or while texting. She said the teacher could often be heard giggling at the horrific accidents depicted in the films! When I take my daughter out on the road for sessions behind the wheel, it is clear that she learned absolutely nothing about driving and following the rules of the road in her classes conducted by this driving school. My daughter scored a hundred percent on her written test at the DMV office, so she knows her signs etc., but bring her to a four way stop and she's clueless. This school's shortcomings don't end in the classroom either. It is nearly impossible to schedule behind the wheel instruction sessions because there simply aren't enough teachers or open slots for all students to get time with an instructor for behind the wheel training. I will probably have to enroll my daughter in another driving school in order for her to get the necessary mandatory behind the wheel training. In short, if you want your teen to actually learn all there is to learn about safe driving on our nation's roadways, choose a different school.
