Very unsanitary. There was a toenail just on the tub near the faucet and dirt. There was no bag inside the tub. I watched them use the same tools on my girlfriend on me without cleaning them. There was a bug crawling on the tub. I almost got up and walked out but I have horrible anxiety. i did say something about the bug, the worker killed the bug using the towel that was underneath my feet and they didn't change the towel until like 10 minutes later. Some of the tools he had in his cart had mold on it. Absolutely disgusting, will not go back. read more

Amy Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Lynchburg, Virginia

Worst service I've ever seen. I've been getting mani/pedi for a long time and I never post reviews. This was the worst Ive ever had and had to let people know. If you get a pedi, be careful. They will cut your nails to bleeding. The manicure... give a 10 yo $5 and you'll get better. There are so many good places in town this is not worth the cost or the disrespect. read more

I have been back multiple times because when you can get the right person it's fine. The owner is incredibly rude but they are cheap and that's how she gets away with it. Not worth it to me anymore. Making an appointment is impossible especially if she answers the phone. I give 2 stars because there are a couple of good ones. They should go work elsewhere. read more

Very rude owner. Poor customer service. Limited staff. Owner acted like she couldn't be bothered to wait on us.

I usually only give positive reviews when I get exceptional service but I feel obligated to give a negative review to warn others of the horrific service and unsanitary conditions (i.e., tools are not sterilized) of this place. I'm embarrassed to say I went there for a while and put up with what I knew was wrong and should have left sooner. I think the main reason people go to Amy Nails is their prices are a little lower than other places. But, there is a reason for that because Amy is beyond extremely rude, she's abusive! She has lied, refusing to say when one of her employees will be back but just answered, "I don't know." I eventually found out from someone else that the girl I was going to quit and moved away weeks before. She has screamed at and embarrassed other people and recently asked me if I wanted my nails cut shorter and my answer was "just a little". She raised her voice so everyone could hear and yelled "Yes or No! I hate people who don't know how to answer yes or no!" Why would anyone subject themselves to that kind of treatment? If they didn't have low prices, I'm convinced they would have no customers at all! My true rating is "0" and I'll never go back! read more

Last weekend was my first visit to Amy nails. I was a walk in so didn't realize how busy they were. It seemed as though they only had a few nail techs working on a Saturday which was odd seeming that it would likely be one of their busier days of the week. I waited over an hour to be seen and the job was rushed, it was probably the worst leg massage I've ever had from a pedicure, it was pretty much non-existent. I will give them one more try because friends have given them a high rating. Maybe my visit was an anomaly. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go for designs on my nails. As long as you don't go in the late afternoon or on a Saturday you can usually walk in and get seated immediately. Also this is one of the best priced places in Lynchburg! read more

This place is awful! They cut corners. Don't waste your money. I went here 5 years ago and didn't have a good experience. I forgot about it until I came to write a review and read my old review. Well, as most of you know we are in the middle of a pandemic with COVID-19. I was selfishly struggling and mentally needed a break from everything. I just wanted a little self pampering. I picked up the phone one day and started calling around not expecting anyone to answer. To my surprise, Amy answered! She offered to take me the next day. I went. I told her I wanted dip. When I arrived she told me dip does not last long and isn't good. She then looked at my nails and said they looked good. She mentioned how long the dip had lasted on the nails. I've tried everything - dip is best for me. When she tried to talk me out of dip I should have took note that she may not know what she's doing. However, she has soooo many dip colors. When she started my nails I started to question it. I've been getting the same thing for so long that I could do it myself. She skipped some steps and placed a shellac gel on the top. With dip you don't need a UV light. If someone puts you under a UV light they are using shellac on top, but the dip top coat. The next day my nails cracked, chipped, everything. A week later they look AWFUL! I also got a pedicure. Amy messed up my toes when putting on my flip flop. She said she would fix it. She simply took her finger to smooth it out. Later that night I look down and I have a huge piece of polish missing! I was so upset about both, but sucked it up. Everyone said I should call her back. I refused. I shouldn't have went anyways, but I'm not letting her touch me. Not to mention she always puts the phone on speaker phone, so you hear all her conversations. A lady called asking for an appointment. Amy told her she is wide open and could have any time she wanted. The phone rings again. The girl asks for an appointment. Amy said yes. The lady asked if a certain worker was working. Any said no. The lady then said she was just wondering, but said she was happy to go with Amy. Amy told her no and to wait until the lady she ask for comes back (after COVID). The lady mentioned again she would take Amy. Amy told her she is completely full! Another lady called and asked for a general appointment - Amy gave her an appointment. So wrong! Look at the photos of my nails and you will never go here. read more

"What do you want?" Me: "A pedicure?" "Eventually " Me: "how long" "About 20 minutes" ....50 minutes later. Very minimal pedi, 20 min maybe 22. No special choices offered. Annoyed when I asked for another coat of polish due to the light color. $30 Great massage chair though. Back to my regular spot! read more

Have been a regular customer for over 3 years now, but after the way Amy treated my mom and sister today, I will not be returning either. Normally we make appointments with one of the girls, but today they just did a walk-in. Amy made some of her nails SO thick, and when she asked Amy to stop while she starting putting base coats on and to fix it, she said no. She charged my Mom $25 for this trash, and told them to never come back. Cool, fine. We'll find someone better. However, this is not the first time Amy has been rude to her customers. She also mocks some of her customers once they leave, as well as a lot of her employees. Most of the girls are great at what they do, but their boss is absolutely ruse as hell and they don't even flinch when it's one of their own regulars. read more

Tina is wonderful!!! She is definitely someone who takes their time. So ask for her if you need someone

Filthy "salon" & rude management/nail techs - imagine going to a nail salon for a service and leave feeling like you're doing them a favor. So ungracious/uncomfortable. The owner and staff are extremely unwelcoming. Does not seem clean or as though anything is properly sanitized. I visited this salon after moving back to the area and would. never. go. again. There are so many options in Lynchburg, don't choose this one. read more

I have friends who recommended this place, but I honestly should have listened to the reviews. The lady who did my nails was so rough with the filing that she made me bleed. I asked for acrylics and she said she could do it, but I knew from the second she started the application that she had no idea what she was doing. There are several nails that are misshapen, chunky, or patchy. The guy that did my toes, however, did a fantastic job! read more

I have patronized this place for years, but today the owner was extremely rude. She was telling people to come back in a week when they accept walkins. Also, the manicures are normally $15 and she tried to tell me it was $30 and that for $15 she would only paint my nails. I'm done with this place and won't ever be back. Time to find a new nail salon in Lynchburg! Luckily there are plenty of them. read more

I showed up for my appointment 6 minutes late and I got yelled at because I was late yet they weren't even ready to take me because the nail tech was doing her own nails. Amy yelled at me multiple times in front of the store because I wasn't answering her questions fast enough. I was then sat down and was quoted $85 for dip powder and chrome. I then asked for French tip and my nail tech told me she did not know how to do a simple French tip. I then just told the nail tech to take my dip off and that's it and she was super rude about that and absolutely destroyed my nails and they have been breaking and the worst state they have ever been in. Amy's nails is the least hospitable nail salon I have ever been to and I will never be returning. read more

First two times here were amazing. Tu is an amazing nail tech. I was convinced this was going to be my go to nail place. Unfortunately, Amy, the owner needs to learn how to treat her customers better. After recommending the place to friends and family, a family member came in asking for Tu, and Amy went off and insulted them because of a small mistake of getting the name messed up and asking for Su. Not only was Amy rude, but she was aggressive and very discriminating. How disgusting to know that she acted that way. She now has lost several customers because of her failure to learn proper manners and customer service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. You will be lied to with the waiting times and then treated poorly. read more

Sadly last time our family will ever use Amy's . My teen daughter went for a special time to get her nails done before prom. She has a medical condition which makes her hands sweat at times. The tech made fun of her to the other workers and did not even want to touch her. He didn't push back her cuticles or even get the sloppily applied polish off her skin around her nails. She left in tears! Not how you should treat anyone!! read more

So I want to start off by saying I love this place, this is not a complaint for the salon as a whole but for one specific worker. I typically see a girl there who is a WONDERFUL nail tech. I broke 2 nails and was on a time crunch so I walked in, my typical nail tech was leaving so I had to go with whoever was available. I got put with a man, unfortunately I didn't catch his name. From the get go, he was very short with me and didn't seem to want to work with me and talk about color recommendations for the inspiration picture I had showed him. I very clearly asked him if he felt like he could execute it properly because I had a backup if not and he assured me it was fine. He was very rough with my fingers, some bled and became sore. The whole thing felt very rushed, I don't even think I was there for an hour. He replaced one of my broken nails- except it's SO crooked. He put one coat each and in some areas it's almost translucent because there isn't enough polish. He didn't completely fill my nails in and didn't even bother to polish the ends or the sides. They're uneven and honestly a hot mess. I spoke up a few times and again, he was very short with me and continued to do things his way. I like this salon so I didn't throw a fit but I'm disappointed that this is what I got after $50 and a tip. read more

I waited 2 hours to get my toe nails painted. Nothing special. No pedicure. Just simple nail polish. Amy kept taking more and more people that came in later than me. It's not done fairly. Long story short... after 2 1/2 hours, I left because no one would ever take me. Not good. Just not good. read more

Mani/Pedi Yea, I'm a guy who goes with his s.o. when she does her nails etc. and this place is fine as far as we can tell, they do a fine job. They are a bit rough around the edges - not sure if I would classify it as outright "rude", but they are busy and I can see how people can take it the wrong way. The place is large and there are quite a lot of pedi-chairs and nail stations around the place. In my opinion, there are WAAAY too many color choices for the ladies- it adds a lot of time to the process for them to find and choose a color- my girl thinks nothing of killing 2 hours here...me, not so much. That being said, they do not take appointments, and with the massive selection of colors, it turns into a confused mess... they really ought to try to bring some order to the process. Prices are average for the area. We come from NY, so the prices there are actually lower for these types of services due to competition... but it is what it is. Overall, they do a good job and you leave looking good. Parking in front. read more

I went to Amy nails with a friend and the owner, Amy, was extremely rude and aggressive towards us. It took 2.5 hours for us to get a simple manicure and pedicure. Amy Nails - The day after I got my pedicure at Amy nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Lynchburg, Virginia

I went to get pedicure on 4/19/22 A lady that is supposed to be Amy's sister gave me the worst pedicure, I've ever had! She didn't turn the bubbles on, I soaked my feet for about 2 minutes if that long, she didn't clean the skin around my toes, my nails was not filed and polished my skin. I showed Amy and originally she said I would have to pay to get it done again. But a young lady name Noel fixed what she could and I was ok with that. For the price, I want it done right. Go at your own risk!! All I can say is say you don't want Amy's sister! The worst thing is paying for something you're unhappy with!! For that I will not be back. read more

In my second visit to Amy Nails, I was thoroughly disappointed and I will NEVER return there. I was in their new facility, which is quite lovely, but the service was atrocious! First the lady giving me my pedicure was stabbing up under my big toe's nail bed. I cried out in pain - finally because I was upsetting other customers, they sent a new lady to work on me. My friend was with me, also getting a pedicure, and after her pedicurist and my new pedicurist conversed in their language, my friend's pedicurist told her as she nodded in my direction (we were sitting side by side) "your friend have fungus". That's now our running joke anytime something goes awry, "well, she has fungus"!?! BUT I will never go there again. Such a lack of professionalism. read more

Typically never write review, if I made decision to do so, would prefer it to be positive; however, it is necessary to write this review. What a BITCH of an "owner" Amy is. I make an apt prior-when I get there she can't work me in. I said ok I'll come back tomorrow..... the next day I arrive, & only TWO ppl are working @2pm on a Thursday.... As I sit there, she starts getting busy and overwhelmed but I was the only one waiting for a fill in.... Everyone else needed a pedicure. I sit there patiently for awhile only for her to say she can't work me & there is someone before me!?! Lol which is BS. I ask the manicurist if she had an apt or something before me, she said Amy says someone is before u. I told Amy "no one is before me" and also asked everyone in the waiting area was there anyone waiting before me... they all said NO. Instead of allowing me to get my nails done- Amy asked me to leave!!!!! Lmfaooooo glad took my ass to another shop. She is rude & cheap! She needs to hire someone to work the front desk. Great quality nail salon. Their new location is very nice and clean, although a little toasty inside. However, the customer service is not the best. I was in town visiting and decided to take my Mom and I to get our nails done. I had never been here before and was skeptical based on some of the reviews. But my mom mentioned this place so I thought I would give it a try. Pleasantly surprise when I walked in - incredibly spacious. One side is dedicated for pedicures and the other side of manicures. I imagine an ideal spot for large parties. There is a solid selection of regular nail color and gel nail color in the basket up front. They were able to take us immediately as walk-ins. Fantastic job! The gentleman working on me took his time, but it was worth it. He didn't want to cut my nails to avoid damaging so he took his time to file them until he got them where I wanted size-wise. The gel looked great - not clumpy or uneven. My mom was pleased with her service too. I would highly recommend if you're in the area. The prices are comparable to other cities I've been. read more

The service here is genuinely terrible. The owner is not nice at all. When you walk in and ask for a wait time she either says "a long time" or "sit down" so you have to decide if you want to spend all day waiting and risk maybe getting your nails done in the next hour or two. The only reason I go is because it is cheap but after my last experience I am never going back. I genuinely sat in the pedicure chair waiting for over an hour. read more

Went in last Thursday for an acrylic set for a school dance. The space was clean and my friend and I were seen quickly despite being walk-ins. Overall the staff was nice and my nail tech listened to my concern that I wanted my coffin nails to be tapered a bit more. My nails turned out looking pretty good, however a week in I only have 4 that are unbroken. I have never had such thin, weak acrylics done. I'm moderately rough on my nails and the only time I've had one break was when I was way past a full-in, even when I've had tips much longer than the ones I have now, so the fact that I've had 6 break within the span of 3 or so days is insane to me. read more

honestly, one star is being generous, they are AWFUL never go there. I asked for a gel manicure and for "bubble bath". 1 they didn't give me a manicure 2 'bubble bath' is literally clear 3 they left the acetone on my fingers leaving them looking like uncooked hotdogs. When I called to tell them I wasn't happy with my nails they put the owner, Amy, on the phone and told me if I wanted a refund I would have to come back and show her my nails and she will look at them and decide if they were good enough. When I went back in all Amy did was rub some oil on my hands so they don't look dry and then continued to tell me the work was good and a refund was not needed. If I owned that business I would be embarrassed to let people walk out like that. I mean what happened to "the customers always right" and in this case that is definitely true! I will never, I mean NEVER, patronize this business again. First time I went in April, they were really rude to my mother and I but I gave them another try this week because every other nail salon was booked on a Friday. Both times we came to this establishment we only got pedicures. The guy checking people in is really friendly, but that's about it. The people doing our pedicures were simply rude. The guy that did my pedicure looked at both my mother and my toes before choosing mine over hers because she had gel polish on her toes that needed to be taken off. He stared at her feet for a long time. My mother then waited 10 more minutes until someone came over to start the water for her pedicure. A lady came over 5 minutes after that and that's when the guy doing my pedicure started speaking in their native language and I knew they were talking about my mother's feet and how he didn't want to do her pedicure because of how the gel polish looked on her toes. He was laughing, looking and pointing at her feet and shaking his head "no" while saying, "no no no." I wanted to get up and walk out at that point but my mom wasn't too bothered by it so I left it alone. She did however know that he was talking about her. Also, my mother likes more of a sparkly color on her big toe than her other toes and BOTH TIMES we have come here they have criticized her nail color choices. The first time the guy was telling my mom she didn't want the color she chose and that she needs to pick another color. My mother was sure of her choice and told him no she won't change colors. He then proceeded to tease her talking about, "oh this color is so bright. I need some Advil." because she chose a bright yellow. This was not in a joking tone either. The second time we went my mother asked for a sparkly blue on her big toe and regular blue on the other toes. The lady laughed and showed the man doing my pedicure and they both thought her color choices were funny, though we didn't. Lastly, when the guy finished my pedicure he didn't tell me to go sit my feet under the heating lamp. Just walked away. The lady that did my mom's pedicure ended up talking to us and making conversation but still 2 horrible experiences that no one paying their money for a service should have to go to. & the pedicure job was subpar. Never again. If you can, spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. read more
