White man at the register is definitely on a power trip. Walked in wearing a mask (for medical purposes mind you because I'm in and out of the hospital, not that it should matter). Told me I had to take off the mask to be in there. Told him no since it's for medical purposes unless he's paying for my hospital bill. I was already halfway through filling up the drink and when I walked up the register he said he wouldn't ring me up. Fair I guess but he's doing a lot for a minimum wage job and a $1.25 purchase. Blessings to him! read more

Convenient and reliable stop. Open 24/7 with a good selection of snacks and drinks. Easy in-and-out when you need something quickly.

I came to this gas station as a paying customer traveling from outta town, needed to use the bathroom and was denied. I was told the bathroom was out of order with no signs posted. This is suppose to be a gas station in the downtown area and you mean to tell all the workers work there and I can't use the bathroom. I was so frustrated read more

Always have fresh Swishers and gas is the cheapest in the area. Friendly staff great customer service and they always remember what you buy.

Horrible horrible people!! Where are these people coming from?? Where they feel that they can behave so inappropriately! They are the rudest most ignorant set of, mostly men, who run some of these stations including Midtown, Sacramento. Its the same crazy stuff throughout many of these stations that are being runned by this paticular group of people. They misprice their items, such as, beverages and yell at customers, including myself who has been yelled at by these group of men. Whats worse they refuse to listen to the customer who tries to explain. The lady who works there (at midtown) is kind. But the men are so disrespectful towards women and are so discrimnatory. These men are completely ignorant and do not know the legalities of running a retail business to the public. Someone is doomed to get hurt one day if they do not correct their position/s, because of their ignorance of mistreatment of others. They refuse to listen to a customer who is right. I watched an attendant talk so disrespectfully and rude to another paying customer who happened to be an African American (Black) woman. He kept yelling at her, until I stepped it and told him that he was wrong as he was telling at the customer that it was her fault for taking an item that had been previously placed in the wrong slot. Thats when I stepped in and told him he was wrong, first of all for yelling at her, and then telling her it was her fault. These so called workers are NOT doing their job making sure that items are correctly placed in their correct slot/s, especially beverage cups keep be placed with the wrong price! Something so simple that can easily be corrected! They refuse to listen and refuse to correct their mistakes! This also happened to me as I also tried to explain in one situation and the attendant refused to listen and only wished to argue. These guys are tempermental and so full of themselves that they DO NOT seem to care about the value of humanly customer service. Well, I was fed up. The issue escalated and I had a few words to say, because I'm so tired of rude and ignorant custumer service, price gouging, and mistakes that can easily be recitified instead of arguments. This has to stop!!! And these group of men need to stop discriminating against women and those of a different race, who happen to be Black Americans, Mexicans, and other. Furthermore, items need to be placed in their correct pricing table. I have seen these people yell at others who are paying customers, including myself, and happen to be of a Black American race way too many times!! I'm completely fed up with the discrimination from others who feel that have more rights then other who happen to be traditional Americans who are paying customers and are respectfully knwoledgeable about the law of the state in reference to weights, measurements, and properly pricing items at each items established container. Me as a Mexican Black American (Mixed Race) will not tolerate it any longer! I will say something if I see something that is inappropriate especailly when it comes to paying customers, including myself! The discrimination has got to STOP!!! Especially against women from these types of 'machismos' who feel superior then others and who are traditional American people, and women! It has got to STOP!!! read more

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT COME HERE i was accused of stealing from the store when i clearly purchased my items from the counter. They ran out of the store to chase me down for a BAG OF DORITOS that i forgot at the counter. They didnt even bother to apologize for their clear mishandling and doubled-down. Im embarrassed for the store and have every right to seek legal action. Inexcusable. read more

Maybe I came at just the right time, but I see nothing to complain about here. Yes, ARCO charges a fee for ATM/Debit card use. Not news. No, they do not take credit. Also not news. And they've fixed it so that ATM cards are taken at the pumps. Only cash at the terminals. read more

ampm - 11/30/2015 - Convenience Stores Near Me - Sacramento, California

This gas station is convenient, but the lot is horrible. Yesterday there was a hose missing - yes a hose - but nothing to flag it for people. People kept pulling in and having to turn around to find another pump. It's also just very sad with so many homeless people. Some of them get brazen and rude with the employees and I can't imagine having to deal with that regularly. read more

The employees at this place short-change you at the registers when you pay with cash. It has happened to me twice with two separate employees which has prompted this review. I believe this is done intentionally. The second time, I confronted the employee and asked for the rest of my change by specific amount; he didn't even bother to pull up the receipt or question it. It was almost as if he knew he had short-changed me. The second time was done by the tall employee who had a beard and wore a turban. He didn't even apologize or look me in the eye when I told him to give me the rest of my change; he just handed it over. read more

I wish this wasn't the closest gas station to my home. This particular am/pm is: * a clusterf*ck to try to get gas or navigate the parking lot * the cash machines for getting gas are almost always broken prompting you to go inside or pay the service fee for using a debit card * never clean looking or feeling One night I came here with a friend because she needed to get some cigarettes. When I came inside there was a drug addict inside begging for change. There was a guy with a boom box blasting music while two girls tried to pop and lick to it. Then a guy came in trying to sell a pair of size 12 Jordans. The employee behind the counter looked utterly defeated. Granted, this was one of the cooler times I'd come in here. read more

16th and W Arco is my go-to spot for gas on the grid and beyond due to the low prices, nice amenities, stocked AM/PM and friendly staff. This station generally has the lowest priced gas in the area, as land park is crazy expensive and other stations on the grid are branded. There is a couple cents cheaper place down the block, but it isn't as nice. It is located conveniently off the freeway and on main thoroughfares. The staff are usually friendly. They have the atm/cash machines working again. They fill up the windshield washing stations with windex water and functional/newer wipers. The pumps are clean and the panhandlers usually keep it to the road and freeway exit. read more

AM/PM has been my go-to place for inexpensive beer as it has specials on Bud Ice, Miller High Life, Foster's, Natural Ice, Coors, King Cobra, Tecate, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Steel Reserve. Cashiers are friendly. If you look young, they check for I.D. read more

This place isn't really dangerous or anything, its just really depressing to get gas here. There is usually a line to get gas, and if you use your ATM card the price is higher. I say go a block south to One Stop Gas or even 76 and avoid this place altogether. For me, saving .30 cents on a tank of gas isn't worth dealing with the bums, long lines and grumpy customers. read more

So I go to a couple of convenience stores in the area of this Arco. They all take credit, cash, debit. This Arco though has a sign at the register stating they will not accept cash unless you have exact change ( covid coin shortage) , and then if you don't have exact change and what to pay by credit instead in order to accommodate them they will refuse it. Who the hell in this day and age does not take major credit cards? This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my life and very poor customer service. I'm not mad at the employees its just the establishments poor choices which force their employees into awkward situations. Get over having to pay credit card fees Arco. I will do my best to avoid giving you my business. read more

I normally stop by here on my way to work to get gas when I used to live 3 blocks down the street. At 7am this station is busy! If you're in a hurry to get somewhere this is not the spot you want to stop by. Pros: Cheap gas and the location is awesome. Cons: I hate that AM/PM charges you for ATM fee but they don't take Credit Cards...??? It's only $.45 but that's $.45 can go towards my gas LOL. A lot of homeless people wander around this station. Leave me alone...I already gave you a dollar yesterday. read more

This gas station is right by my house which means I frequent it often. The pros are that it's cheap and easy access from the freeway. The negatives are that there are always homeless people here which can be a bit sketchy. Make sure to lock your car while getting gas and stay aware. Also they don't take credit. Lame! This place can be packed which can be stressful so I try and go at weird times. read more

I went to this AM/PM off of 16th Street to fill up. I gave the cashier $30.00 for pump 9. While pumping, the gas handle started clicking somewhere around $22.91, however I stopped at $23.50. I walked in to get the remainder and for the life of me, they refused to give me $6.50. I'm totally floored over this, we went round and round and I went out to the pump and took a picture of the $23.50 and they still would not believe me. Finally the cashier comes out to look at the pump for his self, and gets on the phone to call the "head" manager I'm guessing. Long story short, they have to review video footage and will try to get back to me tomorrow. This is ridiculous! read more

Yes, it is a pain to get gas here if you are coming at peak hours, i.e., 8 - 9 AM and 3-6 PM, mainly because there aren't very many pumps and some of them are not well maintained, meaning they pump at an extremely slow rate. Along with this, the parking lot is just not big enough to handle the logistical situation they're in. They are located directly diagonally to a freeway on-ramp as well, so it just seems that the logistics were not thoroughly planned out for the amount of people entering/exiting the gas station lot, which has 3 entrances/exits. I haven't yet had an encounter with the homeless that was anything more than mild panhandling or offering to clean my windows for spare change after coming here for more than 3 years. Aside from this, the store is: Well-maintained Well-stocked Has friendly and helpful employees Actually does have pretty good fresh-baked cookies. Just make sure to ask for them, and, if they're available they will let you know and get you a pack. Another plus, for those of us that don't always want to buy a 6/12 pack, is that they sell singles of beer with a pretty decent selection at reasonable prices. This is uncommon in the area, but I'm guessing it's because they're outside of a certain zone, where selling singles is prohibited. TLDR; Good store, the gas station lot could use some logistical renovations, and, if you avoid coming here at the rush hours, it's not difficult to find an empty gas pump. read more

Shit gas, shit clientele, too many shit ass bums, too many shit ass drivers FLYING in and out of the station making it more than just a little bit dangerous. Only remotely good things this place has going for it are somewhat cheap gas prices and a good location if you're getting into midtown from the freeway. THAT's it. BLAH. read more

OPEN 24 HOURS AND CASH ONLY! (They take debit too but you have to pay a $0.45 FEE!) Make it a point to NEVER EVER come here at night!! It can get really shady in this particular area with panhandlers, homeless, drug addicts, etc. surrounding this place (Solely based on my previous encounters). They do, however, sell gas at cheaper rates versus 76, Shell, and Chevron--which is why try to come here during the daytime. There can be a bit of a wait at times, especially before 7AM and after 5PM, but usually it's not too bad. Their convenience store is PACKED with everything and anything you may need! They even have hot coffee and freshly baked donuts in the mornings! Even with all the positives this gas station might offer, I would still try to AVOID COMING HERE! The people around this neighborhood don't seem to be mentally stable and I'd rather pay the extra $0.05 to ensure my overall safety!!! read more

Pro: cheaper gas places in Sac and I think they remodeled it a while ago so at least the facility is nicer and the pumps work. I have NEVER been yelled at in a public place, especially not for using the company app that they market heavily for customers to use. Every time I go in there Tariq is rude but today he started YELLING at me in the store telling me he doesn't know how to use the app and I need to not ask him the price or how it works because he doesn't know and he would not honor the price in the app and told me "you people" want everything for free and he doesn't care what the app says it's not his problem and he went on and on about "you people." Mind you, no one was in line behind me and I asked him for a price of the ice cream because the app says ice cream $1. He told me I needed to not ask him and pay first. I said I don't want to pay if the price is wrong. Again, he said he doesn't care about what the app says and why do "you people" always want everything for free? Um, us people are your customers. I told him he was rude. He clearly hates his life. I left embarrassed and humiliated for using the app and forgot to ask him for $80 in gas and $40 in lotto tix and ended up at Chevron because I was afraid to go back into the store just to be abused again. read more

The newly remodeled store is nice, but 8 out of 10 times the credit card readers on the gas pumps never work! I always have to go inside, wait in line, and use the one at the counter...I told the clerk inside about it, and he didn't seem too concerned. "oh yeah, sometimes they don't work" was his response.
