We walked around the 2nd century amphitheater & went into the courtyard. People live in the walls of the amphitheater. Cafes are in the courtyard. 1800 years ago there were seats inside the theater, we were shown pictures. read more

This theatre turned bookstore is the coolest tourist destination in Florence! If you love books and…read moretheatres. It's beautiful inside. It's a great spot to rest your feet and use the restroom with a purchase. Moulin Rouge was playing while I picked up a new book! Prices are very reasonable for new books too. Even better than in the USA.
This place is amazing!!…read more Not only is it a phenomenal book store with tons of selections, it's an entire experience. Upstairs has seating like a movie theater with tons of comfy seats. They are constantly showing a movie and have a whole lineup listed for upcoming showings. They hold cool events too. There's seating with tables available to do work upstairs. Multiple people were there studying and doing work. Cafe available downstairs during certain hours. Gotchic revival mixed with art deco feel. There is an elevator to access the upstairs for anyone with mobility needs.

The bad is the movies are often late - the last one I was at was almost 45 minutes delayed with no explanation. Also, the clerk at the front can sometimes be a little grumpy, but he does speak English, which is an advantage. The lobby is tiny and the snack offerings are very limited. Overall, it's nice to have a decent theater in Lucca and definitely worth patronizing but just don't be in a hurry - like most things in Italy TBH.
Did not have english language option but decent venue.read more

This is one of the "alternative" movie theaters in Florence, just a small place with one hall…read more They give very selected movies in original language, also short ones, and they host special events. The price is fair and if you subscribe to their newsletter and bring them a recent copy they will make you pay 4.50 € to see the movie. Pay attention to their schedule because most of the films are projected one time, so you may find it gets crowded real fast sometimes! The beauty of this place is that commercials last for only 5 min before the beginning.
