Won't admit it even though my contract says it in black and white I was only supposed to be charged $14.99/Month. This gym, Steve Nash Fitness World or Fitness World, is the most horrible place you could go to. The staff are terrible and so rude. They will call you a liar even when they are lying. They became incredibly rude as I've had experienced with Renee Kearns (many times now) at the Burnaby location which is their head office she says. Refuses to provide any other contact info or names. If she owns the business then I'd say sure but she does not and is making this company look even more horrible than it already does. Renee decides when she feels like replying and if its too much for her to handle she simply just does not respond ever again. I'm appalled and actually shocked at this childlike behaviour. I'm close to starting an action in the CRT if this behaviour persists. But long story, short DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM.

My husband and I have been members of this location for a few years now. The personal trainers and…read moreregular staff have always been nice, but since it's become under new ownership, the new staff are not lively about doing paper towel, disinfectant and hand soap checks/refills. We're in a pandemic FFS and we don't have the tools to wipe our machines down and wash our hands. What's even more irritating is that tonight all 5 sinks in the woman's washroom had bone dry soap dispensers so I had the courtesy of telling a front desk staff. He says "I'm not a female worker so I can't go in there but I'll let another worker know". I just KNEW he wasn't going to tell anyone! After my 20 min cardio I went to wipe down my machine and lo and behold no paper towels. It wasn't the first time, it was the third time, and I don't even come as often as I should to the gym. I ended up using a random hand wipe on the machine out of desperation, then I went to the hand soaps again to double check. Oh look, nothing in all 5! What a surprise. So I went to the front desk again and got greeted by a different idiot just standing there looking pretty. I told him that I told his coworker 20 minutes ago and his excuse was the same, "I'm not a female worker" but this time he added "the cleaning lady is supposed to come at 7pm and the staff don't know how to refill the dispensers". Are you f serious? I straight up told him "if no one knows how to go upstairs to Shoppers Drug Mart and buy a small $2 soap pump as a reasonable back up then you guys need to learn. There is no excuse and this is unacceptable. Your business needs to provide cleaning tools for staff and customers to utilize during the pandemic! Even without the pandemic, as a staff member doing a full time shift are you going to poo and then not wash your hands??" He was dumbfounded...all he had to say after that was "I'll tell my manager". Yeah right. No balls and no brains to take the initiative for the health of people and the sake of the business. Just watch, there WILL be an outbreak of COVID-19 in this gym. Guaranteed.

Every session he would challenge me to push a little harder, which made me realize I was becoming stronger than I thought. Even as I work out on my own time, I've developed the habit of pushing myself a bit more everytime I felt like things were getting easy, and this is all thanks to Harris. Not only am I excited to continue my fitness journey with Harris, but I also know that I've made a lifelong friend. I really encourage you to reach out to Harris, and I know without a doubt he'll be able to support you in your fitness goals, just like he did with me! With his help, during this quarantine I was able to lose the 15+ lbs that I gained, and it's in a way that's very enjoyable and sustainable - I think that's super important. Although price is comparable to Steve Nash, I am now going to AF Richmond because it is transit friendly (by Aberdeen Station), & they don't have pushy sales people. The gym is brand spanking new, so they have modern and new equipment. They have a good range of cardio and strengthening equipment. They even have a punching bag to take out your frustrations on! That's exciting for me. Plus, you can watch a show of your choice as you're on the cardio machines. If you dread going to the gym like I do, this is a big deal. They're open all the time, with staff on site during mall hours. Otherwise, you work out at any time with your special access fob. The gym has towel service and three individual bathrooms (1 washroom and 2 showers). There's not that many people at this point (or at least when I go in the evening), so you won't have to hang too closely with other sweaty peeps like yourself. Facility seems to be environmentally friendly with water bottle fountains and automatic lights in the bathroom. Maybe the lights are environmentally friendly too? At least, I hope so. The only downside is they don't have that many group classes. Zumba, martial arts and some other class. I hope they add more classes soon. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my membership, mostly because it is more accessible to me=I can go there more often. I pay about $45/month, which is okay. At least I actually use this membership because of above reason. Plus, the franchise owners are approachable and helpful. Always a good way to start!

I train with Patrick and Marco 3 times a week, at 6am in the morning, and I am excited to attend every time because not only are they great trainers, the group of people I train with too are fantastic and those things combined makes it such a motivating experience that I am willing to drive all the way to Richmond 3x a week just so I can keep up with it. I would highly recommend trying out one of the classes as it is probably the best group of people you can train with. Patrick and Marco are so knowledgeable and so motivating - they make the workout challenging every time and I leave feeling so good about the workout and the progress I have made. Of course, you have to be motivated personally as well, however, finding the right vide and training with the right people is what makes the journey worthwhile. If you are looking for a non-intimidating gym and long lasting results - look no further. You can email Crux and they will probably hook you up with a free session to start. Equipment is rarely wiped down by members even if FW actually filled the hygiene stations. It's disgusting.
