Went for our 2 year wedding anniversary. I'm not particularly into B&Bs; it's more my wife's thing. I'd rather be roughing it, camping in the bush.
That being said, my experience was MUCH better than expected but it might not sound like it at first. Keep reading.
It's a B&B, so it's kinda like staying at your parents place. You have your own room but the rooms aren't sound-proof and have to share the main living room with the fireplace.
However, I couldn't ask for a better host than Kay. Both her and John own the place but our interaction was mainly with Kay. She over and beyond what I would think was her 'job' (or duty). It really felt more like visiting an relative's place.
All the extras were very nice. I opted for the breakfast for our first morning and it was awesome. I'm a meat-fan and she only served non-cooked items (very fresh fruit, cereal, cheese, olives, juice, coffee, ham) but it was very satisfying and Kay even let us take some to finish off later in our room. Room was cozy. Not a huge space with the king-sized bed but not cramped either. Heated blanket was as the night was a bit chilly when we stayed in September.
Plenty of places in walking distance. All the walkable shops are just a few minutes from the B&B with plenty of food places, antique shops and a couple of wineries. The Indian place, Masala Shanti was VERY VERY good and only 2 doors down and open til 8:30? You can get Kay to ask to hold a table for you as it's reservations only (but we got lucky and walked in).
There's plenty more to say about Amore B&B but I'll leave it at one more comment. We hung out one night with another couple and just chilled out by the fire place. Kay hung out with us, ordered pizza with us and it was one of the best times me and my wife has shared with total strangers in quite some time.
The B&B was nice and quaint and the location was good... But that part that stood out (to me) was the extraordinary care by the owners to make us feel welcome. It's a great spot if you just need a place to stay near the wineries but if you're looking for an experience more akin to visiting your favourite Aunt and Uncle, then you won't be disappointed.
