For fantastic seafood visit Tavola Azzurria 2 (Take a taxi ride as its a mile away from the station , or if you have all day just walk) Lunch/dinner will be worth it.
No flash decor , just worthy food. I went for afternoon lunch and went with the Linguine all'astice. (lobster). Loved it.
No view of the beach unfortunately , but the beach is only 5 mins away , and a bit stoney. To visit the sandy beach ( turn right on the main road after exiting the train station).
Visit Tavolla before or after lunch as you prefer. I went to the beach before time and chatted with a guy who had just finished a cooling swim during his work break.
The journey is a 1hr train ride from Roma Termini (TrenItalia). Santa Marinella is a couple of stops short end point Civitavecchia, 5 euro non peak.Trains leave hourly , and return to RT quite late enough for a day trip.
For Tavolli Azzura exit left at station, then follow the main road down the coast. It's a 35 min walk if you need to work up an appetite...
