He recommended I double-up my artwork so I get 2 prints for the price of 1 - a more economic option as he put it. He also mentioned that he could just print my design on the roll of material I provide, i.e., no need for me to cut it down. I say thanks for the advice. I return to my studio and update the artwork then send it back to him for approval and a confirmation that it was doable. 4 days pass and I receive a quote for a reasonable price. He then asks me to cut the fabric down - that they couldn't do it the way he originally told me. Ok.... So.... I pay for some cutting tools online and contact him again a few days later. He says come down and drop off my material. Upon arrival he realizes that the artwork is too large for his automatic machine. Which tells me: He lacked the professionalism to even look at the artwork to confirm it was doable as requested several weeks prior before wasting my time. He says leave the material and his team would think up a way to do it anyway. An entire week goes by with nothing but radio silence. After the second email wondering what was going on he responds with an updated invoice - more expensive than the first invoice. He says he has to use a solvent vinyl based special ink and air dry the prints after printing them by hand on a larger print bed. I call and say - OK, if you're printing them by hand and air drying them, then just go with the cheaper water-based ink and print it the same way: by hand & air dried. I'll save some money and have a great product (I had previously printed these same prints in Brooklyn with water-based and had great results). I go in today, an entire MONTH & 3 DAYS later and his co-worker John helps me. Shows me the water-based vs. solvent vinyl ink sample he had done and I chose the WB as it was identical to my eye but much cheaper according to THEIR pricing matrix. He updates the invoice and wants to charge me $50 higher than the previous quote. I say, well shoot, better just go with the previous route. That's when he says: No. We won't do it that way. I'm left scratching my head wondering if it's worth it to me as I have now wasted an entire month of my time with these extremely unprofessional clowns who wouldn't honor a their own quotes and pricing matrix. Avoid getting nickeled and dimed and go to Bellingham Screen Printing on Northwest instead of these guys.

I said ok email me the logo once finished. She did a week later, and I approved the logo and had them print me 1 shirt for sample, it took her a full week to print 1 shirt. Paid for the shirt and all the set up we talked about: came out to around 80$. I was not happy with the service.. So I decided to have another local company quote me on shirts and sweatshirts. They gave me a deal that was twice as cheap and said all of them would be done under 1 week. But they needed the original file of the logo. Had them contact Lindsay. She replied back with a threat stating if we use the logo with out paying her 500$ there would be legal ramifications.. Now this is were I'm staring to get a little confused. Why wasn't this fee disused when I had her print a shirt? I didn't know they would own the rights to the logo , simply because I choose to have them change a couple words around.. Got ahold of the owner, same response . Gave them the chance to make it right by charging accordingly. Got input from many screen printing shops. They said they should not charge any more than 200$ and they should have told me about this design fee before any work was began. This is why I'm giving this place a big F. Be very aware of this manipulative business practice to keep there client from choosing another business. Now I will be buying this logo that they claim to have designed. So if you are thinking about choosing this place for print make sure you read all the fine print. They will try to hold a ransom over your head and threaten you with legal action. When they see you are shopping around to make sure you are getting the best deal for your hard earned buck.
