Gwin's had just implemented a Concur solution for the business and hosted booking seminars for all traveling employees. About a month into the program one of our accountants started noticing irregularities in the invoices. We discovered that rebooking's were being made within the 24 hour grace period of airline tickets booked. This caused multiple bookings that we didn't need. Consequently we were paying 3 to 4 times the number of booking fees that were necessary for each trip. The other ethical issue; they would book multiple reservations separately for the same trip. We then got invoiced a fee for each individual trip paying 3 to 4 times the amount we should have. Furthermore, trips were automatically approved by Gwins rather than our corporate approval chain. Employees were booking trips they had no approval to book costing us thousands of dollars per month of unauthorized travel. In addition, we had an inventory of unused tickets all with massive change fees to use at a later date; all of which would incur fees. Despite complaints trips kept slipping through the cracks. This firm caters towards a consumer clientele rather than a Business clientele. The firm was not available outside of business hours unless we paid them huge fee to answer the phone. I made the decision to switch to a national online travel resource with 24/7 support. I would not recommend Gwin's to run your corporate travel as it has been a nightmare, they were ill-equipped and too small. Despite them using the respected Concur travel solution, they don't have the back office infrastructure to make it work. Gwin's cost our business tens of thousands of dollars in actual travel costs, and six or seven figures of lost productivity.

I was initially excited to work with Gwin's travel because my employer offered a discount there,…read moreand I like to support local businesses and local workers (I just moved into the area). However, I was berated over email by someone named Allison Bahn saying that my $3000 budget for two people to visit Alaska for a week or less was completely impossible, and I needed at least a $5000 budget and 10 or more days. She refused to even try to help me after saying that $3000 wouldn't even cover my airfare and car rental, even though I was just in Alaska last year and spent $188 on a five-day car rental and $515 on round-trip airfare out of the same airport. Is this a travel agency only for the rich? My experience with travel agencies has been that they build a vacation around your budget and preferences and not bully you into spending more money. Absolutely ridiculous.
