However, my second visit for the Catscan was a completely different experinece. From check in to post exam the staff and explanation of things was great. So, I figured I'd average the two appointments and give them three stars, but I really think they might be a two. The staff needs to work on being a little more patient with questions, and not so rude, and if they are running 20 - 30 behind I think they should tell patients upfront, as I scheduled this in between meetings, so would have been able to call someone and move things around.

The staff was efficient and friendly. The lady who ran the tests told me I did not need to go to the Monday appointment since she was doing the same thing. I checked my computer on Monday morning and the appointment for that evening had not been canceled. I called and finally got a live person on the phone. She said that I did need to go to the Monday appointment. I did go, checked in, and paid a copay. After waiting over an hour, I asked if they had forgotten me since others were coming in and leaving. I was told no. After more than an hour and a half, I went to the receptionist and told her I am a patient person, but something must be wrong. This time she agreed. After consulting with folks in the back and working on her computer, she said that I did not need this appointment since it was already done on Friday. I was super upset. First, with the lady on the phone who told me to go to the appointment, and with their system that let me check in for an appointment that I did not need. I also had to ask for a reimbursement of my copy which the lady did. If I have future needs from them, I will make sure not to go to this location.

Located in an office building I took the elevator to the floor and once I arrived I was greeted by two amazing staff members. The office was very welcoming and clean. After just a few minutes I was taken back for my first exam. After changing into a gown, in a private room, I was brought to the exam room. The technician walked me though each scan and was extremely nice. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will look forward to next year.

I arrived 30 minutes early so that I could go through all of the forms and discuss the $2500. I was advised that insurance may help me with the $2500, and so I paid the $500 co-pay and had the MRI. A month later, I receive the statement that shows the original cost of the MRI was $8,878. It has been "adjusted" down, but I still owe $2100, on top of the $500 I already paid. I NEVER would have proceeded with this treatment had the lady in the office been honest about the full $8,878 cost of this treatment. I feel like I have been lied to and robbed! Unbelievable.

The MRI was done at Novant Imaging Cabarrus but read by MRA so ask who's reading the scan before you have it done. Complete waste of time.

UPDATE 8.20.20: I received a call from CLT Rad today regarding my experience with the scheduler…read moreyesterday. She agreed that the call did not meet their standard of care, and apologized. She also said she spoke with the scheduler. She confirmed an appointment for me, and listened to my suggestion about adding a spot on their website for people to contact them about customer service. In turn, I apologized for resorting to a public forum to air my complaint. Oh. And the mammo will be a screening one now because of digital tamography. It's so detailed that you don't need a diagnostic one for complicated tissue anymore. So I was wrong about needing that. THIS is why I have been have been going to CLT Rad for 18 years! I've changed my rating from 1 to 5 stars. EXPERIENCE 8.19.20: Just tried to call to set up an appointment for a mammogram. It was after 5. The person who answered the phone did not identify herself by name. I explained that I'd like to set up the appointment for a diagnostic mammogram. She asked for my details and then told me I've never had a diagnostic one and why would I now? I told her I've been told that I always have to have a dx one because I need more detail than the screening one. She again insisted. I repeated that I've been told I can't have a screening one. Then I said, "That's ok. Just go ahead and schedule me for the same type of exam that I had last year." She kept going back to my request for the diagnostic one. I repeated that I'd just make an appointment for the same thing I've had in the past. Perhaps I was mistaken in the way I stated my request. After the 3rd or 4th of time of her insisting my request wasn't right, I finally told her, "That's ok. I'll just call back another time," and hung up. Here's the thing: I take these kinds of calls myself. I know what the end of the day is like. I also know that customers are sometimes wrong about what it is they really need. She could have just gone ahead and scheduled me for what I've had in the past. But she chose to be curt and bordering on rude about it. Why am I writing this on Yelp? Because the Charlotte Radiology site doesn't have an understandable way to make a complaint. Have something positive to report? Easy! Click a button and fill out a couple of boxes! Other than this experience, I have to say I've been going to this practice for 18 years and the visits and people in the office are magnificent. So. Call during the day. I had to go two weeks being scared to death because my new images had three suspicious areas on them. They couldn't confirm until they had my previous images. I had to end up going back for further testing. I could have saved time, money and peace of mind had they responded.

Great decor, very boutique-y for a doc office. Staff is lovely. Service is very quick, but not rushed. I dawdled getting ready for the exam, but it's possible to get in and out of here in 15-20 minutes. I believe they were very thorough. The radiologist (name begins with an 'I') was so nice, and even showed me on her screen the area she was trying to film - to explain why she needed to position me in a certain (uncomfortable) way. Ladies, we gotta do what we gotta do. This is about as nice a mammogram experience as you can get.
