What a nice surprise in Grand Island. Looking for dinner before an early morning flight and came…read moreacross nice reviews so thought it was worth a try. Everyone was so friendly, the restaurant was very clean, and the food was great. The salsa was fresh and delicious, I had enchiladas verdes and was offered chicken and pork when I couldn't decide which I wanted. Both were great. My husband had the chicken soup which was a generous bowl and he said was amazing. For a little strip center Mexican restaurant I give them 5 stars for what they are.

Grand Island, Nebraska…read more Got here at 7:30 on a Monday night. It was a holiday so I am certain slower than usual. The interior is very simple. Some colorful vinyl booths line the wall on one side with tables and chairs in the rest of the restaurant. Upon seating, we were soon served chips and salsa. The salsa is mild and very simple. It does have small amounts of diced onions and cilantro. Definitely not a fan of the tortilla chips. They taste stale. Thick tortillas, but very hard to chew. I ordered a side order of a chicken enchilada and a chicken taco. I asked what sauces I had to choose from. She said red sauce or cheese. I said cheese. Find out when the bill comes that they charge you two dollars for the cheese. Pretty bad. I did order a draft beer. $3.25 for 12 ounces. It was cold and refreshing. My husband ordered the chicken burrito. It was a lot of food with the rice and beans. He liked it. My chicken was tough so I had to disagree with him. There were many fleas surrounding me and my table. I kept swatting them away. Then I found one in my water. I think they need to get this under control. Not a fan of this restaurant. I would give this place 3.5 stars.

After searching the local area, this appears and I'm happy. Very happy with the find. A Mex Coke…read moredrink and burrito variety coming with dark burnt fresh jalapeños. With Grand Island having Hispanic background, and being that I recently moved here I enjoy trying…read moredifferent venues when I get the chance. I have tried a variety of street tacos and burritos from many parts of the country, but I can honestly say I can't recall eating any better than at La Flor. The carne asada had a deliciously crispy taste and the corn tortillas were so savory unlike others that can be very dry and have an unpleasant texture. The chorizo was not greasy (even though I do love it that way), but it still had a wonderfully flavorful taste that leaves you wanting more. I tend to enjoy eating larger than regular portions so I ordered 4 tacos and 1 burrito, I could have ordered 2 less tacos and still been overly full. When I saw the size of the burrito provided I was impressed, the only thing more magnificent than its size was the savory flavor you can only get when all of its contents were made to perfection. It is a small restaurant closely attached to a Hispanic market so I wouldn't go with a large group of people, but if you're looking for possibly the best Mexican food you've ever had you should definitely give it a try. The only draw back about the food is that it was so good I kept eating until everything I ordered was gone. I couldn't move for hours but I don't regret anything. In fact I might go back again today and pick up some for me and my extended family.
