Rugalechs, Chocolate Croissants and Tres Leches are a must-try. I have tried so many of their pastries without even knowing their names lol. The owner lady is very kind and always sneaks in something extra like a croissant or a new pastry for me to try. Employees don't understand English that much so I recommend pointing at a pastry and indicating the quantity by your fingers. If you feel they're rude, that's probably because they can't understand you. You can order ahead by Door dash as well. Prices are very reasonable and they make such yummy treats that I always visit them on my cheat days :) Parking lot is available although the pavements aren't well maintained. This place used to be great. My husband and I would stop in any time we were in the area for some amazing baked goods, but I guess things have changed. We went by on July 29th for some tres leches cake slices (we've had it before and it was delicious) and they had several flavors, so we got 2 slices of the original and 2 slices of the chocolate. We live about 30 minutes away and, once we were home, we dug into the chocolate cake and the frosting was spoiled! My husband was sick from it for at least 24 hours. Ordered 2 birthday cakes week prior to needing them. Got a phone call on Friday telling me they need to charge more for the designs on the cakes. Ok, not a problem and please have them ready by noon. Sunday, birthday party day (2 children,very close birthdays), I get a phone call @ 12:30 telling me that they aren't able to do the design on my son's cake, however my daughter's cake was completed with the design requested. Go to pick up cakes trying to figure what I can do to get something on my son's cake and get to the party on time. Get to the bakery, I am shown my daughter's cake... NO DESIGN!! It had 2 purple flowers and her name was spelled incorrect! She was to have a purple background and emogi's around. BUT?!?! I was told her cake was completed with the design?!? I already knew my son's was not what I requested (because they were so nice to call me the day I was picking up) and now I have 2 cakes that did whatever they felt like doing with, instead of what a customer ordered and provided pictures of. So, there I stand waiting for the 2 cakes that I already paid for when I ordered in PERSON with PICTURES and I have no time to get anywhere else to get substitutes. Cake or no cake? Bring them late to their own party to try and get different cakes? I pick up cakes from counter and I say " I have some advice for you, in the future when a customer asks for something and you are not able to do it, you should tell them prior to taking their order". The response I got was " No problem". I responded with " Yes, it's not a problem to you, because you don't have to see my disappointed children". I get the return response " No, it's not a problem,you don't have to buy here again" And of course, my response as I am walking out the store is " You don't have to worry about me ever buying anything here again" They did not shed one ounce of caring, complete lack of respect for their customers, horrible customer service. read more

I bought a localflavor certificate for this bakery for 10.00 to buy 20.00 worth of bake goods. The certificate was good until December 31, 2020. My wife went there the day before thanksgiving to get some bake goods for after thanksgiving dinner. They said they would not honor it, even though it was still good and not expired.Then right in front of the other customers the people that work there started to brow beat my wife. She was very embarrassed and a little shocked that they would treat to a customer that way. They were very rude and ignorant to her. She told them on the way out that she would never step foot in there again. The said good. She was all most in tears when she got home. This is no way to run a business. Yep, the Tres Leche cake! Great little gem in South Wilkes-Barre with many ethnic treats. A wide variety of cookies, cheesecake and other delights that I can't comment on because I haven't tried them yet! Sandwiches are available too.
