To become a member they need some personal information and they would like to know your life philosophy. Wow! That makes me feel special if I am granted a membership. But once inside the place is so INclusive. Which is great. No wannabees, nothing pretentious, just passionate and friendly people in the kitchen and at the bar. The guests are not snobs at all, which you might expect from the way they present themselves on the website. Why then not cut this crap and just present the place as the trendy inclusive place you have to visit in Rotterdam? Probably because it is pretty hard to find and before you have this word going around you need something extra. The club is situated on the 8th floor of the Groothandelsgebouw. You have to enter into the main hall, past the night receptionist and then into the inner garden where you'll find the entrance totally unexpected. After a welcome from the doorman and leaving your coat at the hostess you are summoned to take the goods elevated to the 8th floor where you enter the place through the kitchen. It's middle of the road music and lots of top 40 music, new and old (mostly old) Every favorite song by the likes of Nirvana, Bob Marley, Pearl Jam, Michael Jackson, etc is song and performed by a live band that knows how to generate energy. The people behind the bar are real fun too. Some of them walk around to serve your drinks. If you and your friends are in a silly mood, they love to play along. There is this one kid everyone hits on and he likes it. I wonder on how many mobile photo's he has appeared. It one fun mad house. Don't mind the wood chips on the floor. The venue itself is not too big but, in this case it adds to the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly behind the bar as well as at the door. The prices are okay, standard for most bars in town. The crowd is a good mix of young and old, but it depends on the night as well as the particular performance. The sound system in this venue is okay, but loud performances are just a little bit too big for venues like this. The price of admission to a music performance is cheap (in this case 12 euros) for a music performance, and you often get a warm-up act to go with it. All things considered, I'll be back here whenever they have some other good artists coming up!

Also there is a (small) smoking room, because in the main room smoking is banned due to the Dutch laws. Drinks are €2.75 for a good sized beer, maybe more for mixed drinks. They run with tokens, so the bar can go at a far faster pace then other places. One thing to note is I would recommend to buy musicians earplugs as it is very loud, but then again, almost all nightclubs and even a lot of bars have music at a very high volume, it's up to you I guess.

There's good music and a lot of live singers/ bands. They do a mixture of well known songs and own material. The well known songs get a nice funky twist and is trickled with the singer's own sound. I've seen and heard a couple of the singers who want to get noticed and they're pretty good. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. But there's also an air of see and be seen. You have to be able to deal with that or this place is not for you. I liked being at Cinema that day, but I don't think this will be may homeground. I'm more of a Bird girl (see my reviews about that club) Cinema is very R&B orientated. If you're in a glam mood you can walk in. The people are nice and polite, so no barfights here!
