Since I was alone, I couldn't order all the delicious sounding mezze my greedy eyes and stomach wanted, such as the hummus and baba ganoush- or the spinach or feta pies... there was no one to share with. What I did devour hungrily, and with gusto was the spicy kebab. It was spicy both ways: full of spices and flavor, and it had a kick. It was the perfect size and totally hit the spot. I will definitely return, hopefully with a group so that I can actually try more things. Prices are fair. Service was great- I came at an odd time on a random Wednesday night (game night too) and was the only one in the restaurant. So I was treated quite nicely.

Also, at this location, they are a very aggressive about getting customers through their doors, which is a bit of a turn of for me. Just let me browse the menu before trying to seat me. It's off the tourist drag in a dingy, nondescript alley like street, definitely not a place that's trying too hard. That night we had the best meal of the trip. Since then I've been back at least 8 times. On every trip to Barcelona. Sometimes twice. With large groups and small. The service is always warm, accommodating and probably the most attentive I've had (for the moderates price) in Spain. The owners are incredibly nice people, and very deserving of all the glowing reviews they've received to date!

I didn't get a chance to go over the regular menu so I can't quite say what was on it. It's one of those neighborhood restaurants that you walk by with seating on the sidewalk. A local known spot for resident but. But once inside, it a cute restaurant. Not big but has that homey feel. Like I mentioned, we had reservations for the tasting menu. Since it was in Spanish, I was able to understand some of the dishes but the others were a surprise once we received it. Also, wine was accompanied with the menu. Started off with some olives. Plain and simple yet so tasty. Once the dishes started rolling it, you couldn't wait to see what was next. Halfway through the meal, lemon sorbet was brought out to cleanse our pallet for the second part. Each dishes that came out was amazing. Seared ahi tuna, octopus, duck liver with fig spread, scallops with caramelized onions, fried prawns, steak, croquettes... Dessert was also served, a plate of different cakes and pastries. I don't know how the dishes are chosen but they all seem to go well with one another. All in all, this place was amazing. Downfall, there was a guy that would go from one table to another to talk to the guest. Im assuming the locals but not once did he come over to check up on us to see how it was going and if we like our meal. It could be the owner. Guess he didn't want to intrude on the tourist. Anyways, food was great.

What a wonderful place to enjoy a calçotada!…read more Disclaimer: We love Spain (especially Barcelona). We love Spanish food (especially the local, traditional dishes)... so much so that we chose to move here a couple of years ago! That said, we wanted to go to a traditional calçotada (Catalán green onions cooked over hot coals - you strip off the 'burned' layer, and dunk the remainder in a Romesco sauce - followed by platters of various meats. Delicious!) We'd been to several in prior years, but had not been to one in a classic masia (farmhouse). This place scored a five out of five on both counts! The ambiance here is everything you could hope for in a rural masia. This one, however, had a city grow up around it, so now it is mere blocks from the nearest bus and subway lines. Nevertheless, it is in a quiet location, and retains its rustic charm. The food is terrific. The nine of us enjoyed lots to eat - and dietary restrictions were all honored. The service was good, and we all left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. THIS is the place I would take out-of-towners to for an exceptional meal.

The goat was quite good; the potatoes were unseasoned roasted small potatoes--mediocre. Appetizers were rather nice--sausages, pate, and more. Desert was fine. Expresso excellent.
