We will be informing AmeriGas that we will be canceling our agreement before we even get our first tank of propane due to complete nonperformance on their part. We made an appointment for the initial fill of our tank, which was at 30% when we bought our home in Howell. Got a window of 1-5 PM on the appointment day. As we were not yet occupying the home, I went and sat at an empty house for four hours. They didn't show. I called the office. I got a woman who made an excuse, saying, "They must have had an emergency." I said, "And nobody could call and let me know?" She said, very annoyed, "If they're having a gas EMERGENCY and a customer is IN DANGER, they might not have had a chance to call yet!" My thought was, "So why weren't YOU calling me, then?" However, I made an appointment for their next available time, six days away. I have now sat here again for another four-hour period and AGAIN.... they did not show. My husband chatted with their online chat customer service at 5:32, 32 minutes after our appointment window expired. We were told we'd get a call within two hours, guaranteed. Can you guess what happened? If you said, "No phone call," you guessed right. To top it off, we just got an email saying our service appointment had been completed! You've got to be kidding me! It would almost be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. Obviously, no truck showed up, and no gas is in our tank. We are now waiting on perma-hold on the phone (going on 30 minutes now) while my husband is sending an email stating that we are canceling our agreement. This company is completely unreliable. If it was winter, we'd freeze to death before anyone at AmeriGas showed up. Wish I could give negative stars. read more

I have been fighting with this company for the past six months. They are outrageously priced. We requested them to pick up what we had on site and instead they gave us a huge delivery and charged us for it. I've been fighting to have them remove the charge and after, what I thought was a successful conversation, said they'd remove it. But, I just received yet another bill with late fees and the lady can't tell me what the charge is for. After yet another 35 minute phone call and zero idea as to what the charge is for, she hung up on me. DO NOT use this company. read more

They charge a tank rental fee, if you don't purchase a minimum amount. They don't tell you this, and don't give you a chance to make a purchase to reach the minimum. They will keep you on hold, in one case more than an hour, when you are trying to figure this out. And, they will charge you another $70 in order to close your account. read more

I agree with the others that posted. If I could give them a negative rating I would. Pricing is high after initial lock in period. Their customer service is horrible. I was on temporary tanks and it took them over 3 months to pick it up. I called because they charged me for it said they would waive it and they did not, had to call back again and they had no record of me calling, called again to talk to a manager no one called me back. Had to call back again, again no record of me calling. This is one of the most frustrating companies I have dealt with and their prices stink on top of that. read more

Moved into a home that had an existing Amerigas tank. I've been in the home for 6 years and just received a yearly tank rental charge of over $150. I called and the customer service woman was very rude so I told her I would shop around and probably call her back to come pick up their tank. I was told the $150 fee is what I should expect each year for the 120 gallon tank. I had no contract with them and they never contacted me beforehand to set up an account or let me know there is a yearly tank fee. Ferrelgas charges $12 a year. I called Amerigas back, told them they could come pick up their tank which they did. They then billed me again for $150 tank rent PLUS $60 truck fee to pick up the tank! I'd rather waste my money on an attorney at this point and cost them money. I will never use Amerigas. read more

Stay away from Amerigas! I cannot wait until Spring when we can switch away from Amerigas. They are deceitful; required us to prepay for a delivery after they bought out our previous service provider. We explained that our tank must support a catering company in addition to the house and 30% would not last the 7 day notice they required. They came sooner than 7 days but charged us an extra fee for expedited service. They never said they would charge this fee, just snuck it on the pre-paid credit card charge. BBB complaint coming. read more

The Howell office of Amerigas has been very easy to work with and will accommodate the customer. I do prepay all my orders and it takes up to 7 days to deliver, but if my tank is getting low they will route a truck to make sure we do not run out. The staff is great to work with. read more

If there was a negative rating I would give it to them. They quoted me $.79 for the first fill up and a lock in rate of $1.59 per gallon for all of 2018. Then I needed maintenance on my tank so they couldn't fill it when I called. Once the maintenance was scheduled they called my wife and canceled the offer and said they would fill it for $1.75/gallon. Then once the maintenance work was done they canceled that agreement once again and told me I would have to pay $2.15/ gallon. They waited until I was completely OUT of propane before they made this last switch. I will NEVER buy form this company again. Completely dishonest and unethical. I have filed a formal complaint with the Howell office, and since all phone conversations are recorded, they were supposed to review all the calls and respond to me with why the previous agreements were canceled. After several follow ups by me they still have never gone back over the phone calls. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! BUY FROM SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!!!! read more
