Amerigas is not willing to work on resolving a bill left over from previous owner of our house. We were charged for disconnecting the old service and pick up of their equipment even though we never signed the original agreement. read more

In 90 degree heat, my lawnmower hit the gas line to the regulator feeding propane to my hot water heater at 7 pm (copper line broken, smelled and heard gas leak). I turned off the propane at the tank and called AmeriGas. They dispatched their on-call guy from Franklin Tn (about 68 miles from my home) and he arrived at 10:30 PM. Did he repair the broken gas line? NO! At the tank he disconnected the gas lines to my water heater and standby generater, "locked it out" and left at 11 pm without giving me a repair estimate. He just said call again in the morning. Called in the morning and was told that the "real" repair guy would be out in the morning a week later (i.e. 3 July). Imagine the smell after mowing the lawn in 90 degree heat and then not having a hot shower for a week. This is what happens when a big company buys out local propane companies (my old one was only 2 miles away from my home). You call for service and have to drill down a computerized menu tree before talking to a real person that is not local and they have to find a repair tech "in your region". The first person I talked to was in California and the last "customer advocate" I spoke to was based in Nirobe Kenya. read more

If you want terrible, unresponsive service, then Amerigas is for you! My family and I attempted to contact Amerigas over a 6 month period. No one answers the phones. Physical locations have signs that say "no in-person service". After a dozen (plus) attempts at speaking to a customer service rep, we were able to schedule an appointment to replace our gas tank. Did Amerigas show up for the appointment? No! Natural gas is natural gas. It's a commodity. The only thing that differentiates one company over another is the service provided. By this measurement, Amerigas is a complete failure. read more

This company is a nightmare. They won't fill my rental property tank because no one lives there but no one can move in because there isn't any propane to heat the house or water! Jim Dandy for sure. Can't access my online account due to a website tech error but no one will help me on their end. Awesome! And every phone call is at least an hour hold before someone shares that no one can assist in any of my requests or needs. Then they simply hang up when they've graced me with the "we can't help you." I'm sure the company is reeling in laughter at the monopoly they have in my small town as they have positioned themselves as the ONLY propane gas company in the area. I'm just excited to find as many review sites as possible to make sure as many people as possible can read how awful this company is but how we are all stuck with them so we can toast & commiserate together. Anyone got confetti & noise makers for this party? read more

The company representative insisted that the vent pipe was an HVAC pipe and they are not authorized to touch HVAC pipes. An affidavit and inspection from my HVAC provider had no effect. This company does not know the difference between HVAC and a simple vent pipe and pipe vent needing a new boot after roofing job. I had to pay another company $665 to put a boot around the vent pipe. Most likely my ''5 year warranty'' is voided now anyhow. So much for a $9,000 job.

I called Capitol City Plumbing twice to identify and repair a leak. They charged me both times,…read moreclaiming the leak was in my toilets. They even cut a hole in my bathroom wall. The leak continued, so I called CCP again, requesting that they return, for the 3rd time, to fix the leak. They refused to come back or refund my money. They actually had the gall to tell me that when one leak is repaired, it could cause another, and that was what was happening. I called another plumbing company. The new plumbing company was able to identify the leak (not guess like CCP) and made the necessary repairs. The actual cause of the leak was the pressure valve outside the house. The new plumbing company repaired the leak, and I have had no other issues since they made the correct repairs.

Long story short - Serviceman charged us $396 to replace a faulty shower cartridge which costs $20 at Home Depot, claimed it costs more because they provide warranty on it, how a $20 piece can cost 10times more in warranty- go figure! Used a $20 removal tool -how can his job be worth $356!!! He wrote in his 'report' that he "rebuilt a moen shower wall"!! Let me tell you that said 'rebuilding' took 10min! My mistake - told the lady on the other end (when I called them) that it was an emergency (which it was) and got totally taken advantage of!! I am reporting them to BBB.
