It was OK if you'd like your wings cooked a little hard and your french fries overcooked as well. If you don't like a lot of sauce on your wings I had honey garlic pepper. They were kind of dried. They weren't juicy as usual. Hopefully, they'll do better. And you had to pay extra for a can soda. It usually comes with your combo.

    this is ridiculous.

The beef was incredibly tender, juicy, and far surpassed what I've had at Canopy Pit Beef in Ellicott City. It's a no-frills setup: cash only, picnic tables only, and no indoor seating, but the quick, friendly service more than makes up for it. I just wish they were closer... though maybe it's better that they're not. Highly recommend.

We have always passed Pioneer Pit Beef during our many travels on Rolling Rd. over the years and…read moredecided to stop by to see if this pit beef was worth the stop. We arrived shortly before closing. Upon entering, the place is really small and the ambiance was filled with a smokey scent and can be a bit claustrophobic when filled to capacity. There is off street parking available on the lot behind the store. There were tables and benches in front of the store to sit and eat your food. NOTE: THIS IS A CASH ONLY BUSINESS. We were greeted by a pleasant man and placed our order behind clear plexiglass: a "super" (extra meat) pit beef, a pit turkey, and an order of fries. They also had pit ham, gravy and you could get the sandwich as a sub. We watched as they prepared the order through the plexiglass, cutting the meat on deli cutting machines and weighing each meat order. We asked if the fries were hot and were told they were "always" hot as we watched them take fries they were previously fried and "double fry" them for crispiness. They had a list of sauces available to add on the sandwich or on the side. We got the "tiger" sauce (horseradish and mayo) and bbq sauces on the side. Our order was ready in no time and the sandwiches: the pit beef sandwich was piled high with thin slices of well cooked although a bit dry (don't know if it was because it was the end of the day and we arrived close to closing), pit beef with a great smokey flavor. I added the bbq sauce (which was sweet and a bit vinegary, which I liked) on the meat and it added the perfect sweet balance to the savory smokiness of the meat. We wanted to try the tiger sauce (combo of mayo and horseradish) but were afraid as it seemed like this sauce was sitting out on the counter and with the mayo, we didn't want an upset stomach. The bun was fresh and I really enjoyed this sandwich. The pit turkey had thin slices (this meat seemed to be similar to the turkey you can get from the deli) on a fresh roll. The meat was not dry and this sandwich was good as well. The fries were best eaten as soon as we got them and they were hot, crispy, and fresh. All in all, we enjoyed our food and would come back again to grab a couple of sandwiches and try the gravy option.

The outside doesn't suggest much, but there is a decent amount of space inside. I ordered takeout, but there was a huge family that filled several tables. The folks at the counter seemed busy, but they got to me after a minute to get me my food. Food - despite the name, this is not what I would call a barbecue takeout place. It is a Pakistani restaurant that is meat-forward, but not exclusively meat dishes. We went for the Mixed BBQ, which had plenty of meat for at least two hungry people, but my wife and two of our children had plenty for dinner one night and lunch the next day. The kebab was nicely spiced ground meat and it was decent on its own but also nice with a spicy green sauce. The chicken tikka was solid. There were also some heavily spiced ground beef patties. Child #1 is vegetarian and got a Lahori Chana and a Palak Paneer. The Chana was pretty standard, nicely spiced chickpeas. The palak paneer was solid with a nice blend of warm spices, but I wouldn't call it spicy. We also tried out an order of Chicken Tikka Masala. It wasn't as bright or creamy as I've gotten at other Indian or Pakistani places. It was still tasty though. A variety of breads to mop it all up, and it was a solid meal.

I appreciate that the food is made to order -- it was piping hot! My only gripe is the fact that I replaced my rice with mac and cheese (which costs extra according to the website) and my order was wrong. The cabbage and jerk chicken were alright, but I was disappointed to see rice instead of mac and cheese. I would recommend checking your food before leaving to avoid this issue from occurring. Also ask for utensils because they don't always remember to give them.

It came fresh off the grill and it was the best I have tasted since moving to Maryland. The portion size was perfect for the price. The chicken was well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice and smokey flavor. 5/5 The beef patty was hot with the right amount of flake and filling. Every bite had beef and crust. 5/5 -The fresh juice is made in house and made daily. I got 2 drink today the ginger and pineapple and the ginger and cucumber. Both had me wishing I had gotten more flavors. 4/5 I also had the oxtails Mac and Cheese was also good, but it is a really small portion for the price. The staff was super friendly and answered all of my questions. I look forward to returning to try other options on the menu. There is no space to eat in, but it's super clean and organized.
