I'm 750 miles from home, people running my hotel say you need to try this place, good food, good price. I'm game! It's Saturday night, parking lots already pretty full at 6 pm, a good sign to me. I was in a table and had a glass of tea in my hand in under 5 minutes. Place was very busy, but every waitress had a real smile on their face and seemed to be enjoying their job, not something you see a lot of any more! I had a hamburger steak smothered in grilled onions, a baked potato, and a Greek salad. Very, very tasty, sometimes the simple fair isn't given the same flair a fancy dish would get, but mine was great! Please give them a try if you find yourself in Warsaw. read more

This restaurant has been one of warsaw's consistently best restaurants since I have lived here. The owners pour their hearts into the daily workings of this establishment, and it shows in the food, service, and the warm greeting you receive upon arrival. The food is pretty standard fare for a family restaurant, but well done, and very delicious. They frequently add new items to the menu which adds to the appeal of this restaurant. So we showed up at 8:57 on a Wednesday night when their last seating was 9, and they wouldn't seat us. They asked us to leave as they were closing in 63 minutes. We were the only ones there but I don't think the time of your last seating should be dependent on the crowd. read more

Great food and very reliably consistent which is a good attribute. Great breakfasts all day, but for lunch or dinner I like the Greek salad, Greek chicken and fried chicken. Pot roast is also good as is the Tilapia dinner. Dinners are $10 range. Today I had their junior omlette, which is one of their breakfast specials. This place has the best breakfast in town, and the service is always amazing. We stopped in on a busy Sunday morning when there was a long line of people and a 15 minute wait. They move people through pretty fast though. We placed our order and the food came out very fast. The scrambled eggs were creamy and delicious, and the cinnamon French toast... divine! i'm trying hard to find something nice to say. We went on Friday evening so we expected a wait. As we were 2 couples from out of town, the other couple picked this place. The time passed fairly quickly as we were playing "catch up". The noise level was extremely loud. Dishes being dropped and staff screaming at each other. One of our group was in a wheelchair and another on crutches so they seated us where the W/C was constantly being bumped into by the wait staff. No need for apologies on our part because we didn't pick the table. The chair being bumped constantly was painful to the man in the chair and not one staff member apologised for not being careful. Our waitress (ANA H) tried rushing us for our order but we had questions. She would only answer 1 question then ran away to do something else. She came back to the table demanding our order and we asked another???. She answered and took off again. She showed up again after 10 minutes and we decided if we didn't order then we may not get our orders placed. We were looking for fresh food but the meatloaf and country fried steak, hamburgers and chicken were all frozen, nothing made in house. No refills offered on drinks and dessert not offered. The food was not very good so we paid $50, left most of the food and went to Culver's. The checkout girl said "how was everything"? I said "it was ok". She rose to her feet and very loudly said "what do you mean by ok"? On that note we quickly walked out. read more

Wife and I stopped at the American Table because of the reviews on yelp. We both ordered the meat lovers skillet. Most skillets are mostly potatoes. BUT NOT HERE! I think there was more meat (bacon, ham, sausage) than potatoes. And then a layer of Ooey gooey cheese . Eggs to order on top. Service was excellent! I just barely finished mine and the wife had to get a to go container. read more

Had a late lunch {1:30 pm} here with my wife. Only a few Seniors were there having lunch. We were told to seat ourselves and were quickly greeted by the server. Drinks were brought out quickly and kept full throughout the meal. They have an extensive menu and I think they serve breakfast all day. They have daily specials, and I selected the classic Beef Manhattan and my wife selected a chicken special. Both were $7.50 and included a cup of soup. The cabbage soup appears to be homemade and was very good. It was served with one package of crackers. My beef Manhattan was large but nothing special. My wife's chicken was fairly small and very plain. I should have gone with breakfast or a burger. Perhaps they have some good items on the menu, if they do they should drop the specials. Maybe they have an older, loyal following, or get a large breakfast crowd, but I don't see them attracting new repeat business unless they make some changes. read more

Had a good breakfast here today. Got the veggie frittata, and it was huge. Good value there. My husband said the pancake was good. My son got the sausage skillet, and he really liked it. Even though the parking lot was packed, we only had to wait 1-2 minutes to be sat. There was a lot of staff which made everything very efficient. The managers were out making sure people were being taken care of. I will come back to American Table when we stay in Warsaw. read more

Been eating here for years. Always great food, and even better service. However I witnessed a disturbing incident today in which our waitress, who just happens to be the sweetest lady, was verbally assaulted... loudly in front of not only us, but the entire restaurant by a bus boy while she was trying to help us. He just charged through her yelling "GET OUT OF MY WAY!". She held her composure pretty well considering, but it was not only awkward for us but made the whole rest of the experience there uncomfortable. This kind of behavior for anyone to have to endure in a "safe" work environment is unacceptable. I wanted to say something to stand up for her but I was hesitant since our food had not yet come out. I hope that the management takes stuff like this very seriously because this not only affects their reputation but the overall experience for their customers. read more

Solid home style food. What we have always been impressed with is the service. The wait staff is always friendly, the managers /( owners?) pitch in and help, even coming over to ask how things are and refill coffee, etc. Have not had a bad experience here and have brought friends here to try it also. read more

Pleasantly surprised! My husband and I can be rather picky vegetarians. Surprise surprise! Several fresh tasting veg options are available on their menu. Great local place to eat. My experience has only been with lunch. Staff is always friendly and food is always good. The soups are a big hit. The dining room has a family or business casual type atmosphere and is always very clean. I think of this place as a nicer "diner" type of experience. Great service, but food presentation leaves a lot to be desired. My scrambled eggs came with the addition of egg shells that were NOT requested. Apparently their chef doesn't know he should crack the eggs on a flat surface so shells don't end up in the meal. Also the food could be presented so it looks better. They present food like Grandma. It's not 1970 when customers wanted large unpresentable portions. In 2016 customers are watching their caloric intake, and we care that our restaurant food looks pretty enough to take a picture. read more

We went here because someone had mentioned that their salads were really good, but we were disappointed. The chicken in the chicken & pear salad was very dry, and the salad was quite bland, with some large chunks of pear and a few regular salad items. My oldest son had the lasagna, which was very good actually, with homemade meat sauce that had a nice, rich flavor. Big serving. The younger boys had the children's spaghetti, which had the same sauce on it, and the portions were large. The chicken noodle soup was OK. It seems that the menu is a hit & miss kind of thing, with a large variety of foods served, so there might be some gems there, you just have to find them. Service was slow but friendly. read more

Food was great! Had the Turkey and Avocado Wrap, a side of fresh fruit, and the Clam Chowder. Like the waitress said, "nothing at American Table is small." The waitress also seemed awkward when interacting with my friend and me. She could've been feeling like she was bothering or interruptible, but she wasn't. She didn't have to feel this way. She did her job well. The atmosphere was alive. Yet, there were loud noises at times from dishes and clean-ups that jolted us mid-sentence a few times. The service was prompt and timely. I had begun to truly lose hope in the food in this area as a new transplant here, but thank goodness for the occasional gem. American Table is one of those gems. We came for lunch on a Friday afternoon and had a hard time deciding because of the extensive, delicious looking menu. My husband settled on the endless salad and (homemade) soup which was clam chowder. I had breakfast - pancakes, eggs and corned beef hash. Both were filling, nicely made and delicious. The clam chowder was thick and the clams were tender and had not been turned into rubber bands like so often happens. (We just moved here from New England, so we are picky about chowder.) The salad looked fresh and the dressings tasty. My pancakes were very good, the eggs perfect and the corned beef hash crispy. Coffee was good, our server was friendly and never missed a beat, always keeping our cups full and checking in on us without being a pest. We will gladly be back to try other things from the extensive menu. read more

I ate here for dinner with 4 people. Hard for me to understand all the great reviews for this place. For starters they have an "unlimited soup & salad" on the menu that I was excited about. I had heard about their homemade soups especially the chili, that I figured that would be a great way for me to try them. Turns out if your order this, it doesn't include the chili...I even said I would be willing to pay extra, but was still denied by the manager. Just an awkward exchange. Another person I was with ordered a steak, they didn't ask him how he wanted it cooked. We didn't notice at the time but when it came out it was medium well. He said he like his steaks medium rare but was told that "all our steaks come like this."...another awkward exchange. I got the steak tips w/ a bowl of cream of chicken rice soup. By the taste of my food I would question if their cooks have ever heard of herbs and/or spices. Everything was bland. Another member of our party got the grilled tilapia, which again lacked flavor and was slightly over cooked. The only dish that I thought was worth the price was the Thai Chicken wrap. I thought his was pretty good and had a good amount of flavor w/ the peanut sauce they used. They toasted the wrap which I thought was a really good idea. So all in all 1 of the 4 meals that we ordered were good. I think this place just tries to do to much. Their menu is huge and IMO it's hard to do so many things well. I think they would be better served to cut it down, invest in a spice rack, and provide a pathway to unlimited chili. 2 stars are due to good portion sizes and the fact that wait staff seemed very friendly. read more
