We were there on a Wednesday, so there wasn't any music that night but we still had fun talking with the bartender and other customers. Left with a take home bottle of wine too! Walk in from the street and you will see a long bar (set up for tastings) on one side and a bunch of comfortable chairs and couches on the other... kind of like a coffee house. The back of the store has a set up for featured musical acts (I think on weekends but maybe Thursdays too... not sure exactly). Lots of comfortable seats back there too. Wine was good, but the friendliness of the bartender is what made it fun. Would like to come back and have a few glasses of "Old Escanaba" (my favorite) and listen to some music.

Boy does this week bring out everyone to the community. It is packed!!! This is great business…read morefor the whole town. The Fair itself is fun but be prepared to have a wallet full of cash. $8 to get in but includes your grandstand and parking. $30 for a wristband to ride the rides. Food selection is great!! I will admit, I partake in all kinds of good yummies. Thank God we only went for the day. I already have to live at the gym for what I ate. But it was so worth it. With only being there for 1 day we did not get time to go thru all the barns and such. There is so much to do for everyone no matter what your interests. Come out and enjoy it. It's only once a year.

How great is it that this small town has a wonderful and vibrant art center? Extremely wonderful!…read more I was an arts and theatre kid so this is one of the places I spent a lot of time at. I was in plays here and I went to plays as well as exhibits. Every time I am in town I like to see the current exhibit as well. I stopped by this time to hang with my mom as she took an art class in the back. They told me the current exhibit was open so I could go check that out as well. It was an exhibit of art professors from NMU. I really loved the video piece (no picture of it) as well as the ceramic plates. There are many talented people in the yoop and for a rural area, it is rich in culture. Support the arts!

The lodging was very comfortable, Reba's three meals a day were all excellent, and on top of that we saw many species of game. All four from our party were able to harvest Russian Boar within four hours. Our time frame was very tight due to travel problems but Don and Tyler made sure we knew exactly where to hunt, how to size game, and upon harvesting our animals were right there to take pictures and get our meat processed. We are already looking to book at least one trip for next year. Tony W.
