When I did finally get some food, it wasn't good at all. It was cold and flavorless and I've had better frozen food than this... and I'm talking Bagel Bites and Hot Pockets are better. There was no great way to get drinks at the bar as it was super packed. And the staff was just unfriendly when you finally did make it to the bar. When a waitress DID make it to the table, she did take the orders and bring the drinks quickly.

Security was severely lacking, and the single "security guard" did little to make anyone feel safe. Mall cop presence... I sincerely hope they take security seriously before someone is seriously hurt here.

That's a landmark for any organization! For a while, DPC had some ups and downs, as happens in long-established clubs. It had a season of bad leadership, mismanaged direction, and a whole lot of rebuilding to do. The ship is now righted. It again feels like the community space I got to know and call a second home when I first moved to Denver over 20 years ago. The programming has grown with monthly and quarterly events from craft nights and mixers to traditional poker Thursdays. The topics for special conversations and panels are engaging, informative, and offerings for a better understanding of current events and international policies. The guest bartenders and handful of annual functions continue as well, but there are so many more opportunities for engagement with the club and its members now, too. If you only want good conversation and good cheer, this is still the place to pull up a seat while Jim makes sure you're not thirsty! Beyond the historic setting and stories from another time, I'm glad to report that The Denver Press Club once again stands as a place to gather that honors its rich legacy, which has monitored Denver's pulse for over 100 years.

It's a private club for journalists and beyond and the oldest press club in the country! I was absolutely amazed by the old school charm and the swanky bar on the second floor. Don't forget to take a tour of the basement poker room also. There is history in every corner throughout the building from the typewriters, names of "deadline room", "poet's corner", etc. to all the notable journalists cartoon portraits on the wall. Hope to be back again some day!

I've seen some incredible shows and there's why the space has a reputation of being a favorite of comics! If you know comedy shows, a two drink minimum and putting your phones in a pitch shouldn't be a surprise. If not, it's on the website and the staff lets you know as well. They definitely pack it in, but it's certainly not a standing room only venue and I like how they organize the space. Food isn't really what you go there for, but they have good bar food and snacks. If you want a full meal, I'd recommend going somewhere beforehand. Also the toughest part is finding a parking spot in Larimer Square, so walk, bus or rideshare is clutch. Staff have great personalities, at these shows you kinda have to be lifeguards if people are acting up or not realizing who people paid to see. I LOVE the underground vibe, when you see clips on shorts from shows it hits home. I appreciate the amount of non alcoholic options. Perfect place for a date night, if you're visiting, or if you just need some laugh therapy. On a real note, my mom is ill and it's been such a lifesaver having a place to laugh in a serious world.

Huge scam to begin with, as not only do you pay to see the show but have to purchase 2 items per person before the show is over. However, that's not the part that drove me absolutely bonkers. Imagine a sold out show and EVERYONE must purchase 2 items per person, have that shit delivered to your respective seat one piece at a time and pay for it (per order). We couldn't see half the show because staff was blocking the view, we couldn't hear the other half because staff was hustling to take orders and secure payment from the guests.
