I came into this barber shop as a first timer on a Saturday due to the fact that my child's…read moreoriginal barber was fully booked for the weekend and needed a haircut before his picture day on Wednesday. 1. I like to acknowledge that my toddler was in fact crying obnoxiously loud during the beginning of his haircut. 2. The minute you walk in you are not greeted whatsoever. The first thing said to me was did you have an appointment, I answered no and the owner said he'll take you, which I was like okay, thinking wow I didn't have to wait much at all compared to other places. 3. I showed the barber a clear detailed picture of what I wanted his haircut to be and it came out nothing like it whatsoever! He didn't blend it right, I asked for a taper on the back bottom and it didn't come out as a taper. Lines around the ears were uneven as well. 4. During the his service, my son told me he wanted to go to the restroom so I kindly asked if I could take him quickly. While he was in the restroom and I was outside the door waiting for him (they thought I was inside and couldn't hear anything) they started talking about my toddler saying "just hold that nigga's head tight as fuck" (CAME OUT OF THE OWNER'S MOUTH) and then I peaked out from the little hallway in the back and they were all like "she's right there" 5. After a terrible haircut was done, I got charged $40 for a child's haircut. Keep in mind that apparently this place is cash only and as a first time customer would have been nice to know at the beginning. The owner said "well I can take your card but it'll be a $5 charge"which I saw him enter in $4 not $5 making it out to be $40. I wasn't asked if I needed a receipt either Overall I will never take my son to get a haircut with that barber specifically, don't know how well the others cut but with those rude comments I don't think I'll be back. I did get offered a water and they did let my toddler have two quarters to get a gum ball which I am noting as that was very gracious of them. Nonetheless the haircut was horrible, I still did my job as a customer the received service and tipped 20 percent. Will be going back to his original barber to fix the haircut done by this shop which is such an inconvenience.

Let me tell you, my friend, you have never had a haircut like you will get from Mark. Not only that, but he will tell you things about curly hair and your hair in particular that you probably have never heard before. He's one of us! He has curly hair too! He speaks the language, is a member of congregation just like us! I think he is the Curl Whisperer! He will not only cut your hair perfectly but he will explain the products he uses on your hair (you can buy them there when you leave) and how to use them. He makes it SO SIMPLE! I bought all of the products and I am confident that I'll be able to do exactly what he did and my hair will look just as great when I'm doing it myself. Now I can clean out my bathroom cabinet and throw out all of those gels that stopped "working" for me. I'm so thrilled with my hair that I could just about cry happy crocodile tears. I feel like a new woman at the ripe old age of 47. Marc rocks!! I'm so blessed to have found him.
