Steve and Maurine Clark: Our experience working with American Heritage Homes We chose American Heritage Homes as our builder because of the detail and quality they put into their homes and their willingness to put enough information on their website for us to find out about the company and what kind of quality they put into their homes. This allowed us to make the best decision for a builder on our home project. Our experience with American Heritage Homes was a smooth, happy and exciting time for us. We made it a joint project with them. Seth, Shem and all of the staff we worked with were excellent. We very much appreciated the advice we received from all of the subcontractors we worked with. We found them to be knowledgeable and were very helpful to us in making the many decisions needed to select the finishes and materials to include in our home. We appreciated the help Seth gave us in looking over the plans for the house and making suggestions for changes that would avoid construction problems and improve the flow of the design. We also appreciate his help in working with our plan designer to get the plans completed. The plan we used was not one of American Heritage's standard floorplans but Seth and the staff were very willing to work with a plan we brought to them. We began working with American Heritage Homes as soon as we purchased the building lot in February of 2016. Seth let us know that all he needed to start planning the actual build was six weeks notice. In February of 2018 when we attended the St. George Parade of Homes, we informed Seth that our house in California was on the market and that we would be moving to Utah in mid-April and be ready to start construction. We moved to Utah April 15, 2018 and construction was begun on April 21st. The project ran very smooth with only a few minor issues. We found that they were very responsive to problems and corrected them quickly. We included some special items in the build that we informed Seth about at the beginning of the project which included wiring for internet, cable TV, amateur radio equipment and a whole house backup generator. All of the items were installed by the subcontractors and their cooperation was excellent. The home was completed in the third week of August 2018 which was only one week later than their estimate of four and one-half months. In essence, the house was completed on time and on budget. Any items that were over the allowed budget were a result of us choosing more costly materials. Our thanks go out to American Heritage Homes, and all of their subcontractors and suppliers. American Heritage Homes built our home starting in December 2012 and finishing in March 2013. I spent a good share of my life as a contractor building homes in northern Utah. When we decided to move to southern Utah to retire, I was no longer working in that line of work. I spent some time here looking at potential contractors, speaking with new homeowners, and sub contractors, and settled on American Heritage. My experience with them was a very positive one. They were pleasant to work with and were fair and honest to deal with. I was very pleased with the quality of the workmanship that went into our home and their flexibility in design changes that I wanted to make with the model that we selected. Like any project of this size, a few mistakes were made but they were prompt to make the corrections needed without additional costs to me. The home was completed on time and for the price that I was quoted in the beginning. Please understand that home construction is a difficult business and I am a little OCD so when I give my recommendation, it is because I feel that they deserved it for a job well done. I have recommended them to several of our friends who have built in the area. In my many years building homes, I had a handful of clients who were almost impossible to please. I don't think a review from them would have been a fair measure of the quality of my work. Richard & Valorie Amesse: We have been living in our custom AMERICAN HERITAGE home for about 18 months and are really enjoying it, as it was built to our specifications. Seth said about the plans they offer, "Forget all of that and just tell me what you want" and we did. They created for us exactly what we wanted and bent over backwards to accommodate any changes we had. They were honest, friendly, expeditious and became almost family. American Heritage Homes is an amazing builder! They built our home and we were the 2nd owner. At purchase, the inspector we hired said AHH is one of the best builders in this area and is very good and hardly ever any issues on inspections and he highly recommended them. We recently had our basement flood (resulted from our poor landscaping/drainage, that AHH didn't do) and AHH graciously offered to help us re-build after our devastation. They finished helping us to put it all back together again so quickly, and have helped to implement solutions so this never happens again. They and their subs were fast, thorough, great at follow through and communication, friendly, honest, and we had our basement completed much faster than we expected. We used American Heritage to redo our backyard - we added a pool and casita. I can't express how happy we were with them. Everyone was so efficient and wonderful to work with. They had designers to help us choose the best tile for our pool (thank you Hope) - and designers for our casita who guided us in gorgeous choices (thank you Cyleigh)! Cyleigh followed up with us throughout the process to make sure we were happy with our choices. Nephi oversaw the building of our casita - he has been unbelievably responsive to us. We have loved working with him. He communicated with us - treated us so kindly and was very efficient. Our entire process took April-Nov. Our pool and casita were completely done in 7 months! We got weekly Emails on what we can expect for the coming week. We would use them again in a heartbeat. If you are debating on who to build for you - for sure choose American Heritage! read more
