They do not call in before they dug and they hit m gas line and fiber optics. Then the workers lied about it. My neighbors or and I both earned them there was a gas line where they were digging the posts but they disregarded our warnings. read more

We had a 6 foot wooden fence installed our back yard in fall 2016. Within 4 years our posts started rotting. We called to report the issue and were told it would be $500 to replace each post. We replace several on our own and now have 16 broken posts and the fence is falling down. This fence should have lasted much longer. We now have to tear it out and replace the entire fence. read more

We put down our $10,000 deposit on December 3, 2024. They told us they could work through the winter months, which surprised us, but we also understood it would depend on the weather. It's been a wonderful winter, with several mild days of weather. They started our job approximately January 29, 2025.....it's now March 6th, 2025 and it is still NOT FINISHED!!! The first excuse I heard was the drill bit broke after completing 2/3 of the yard post installation. Funny thing is, when they left that day, they told me they would see me in the morning. Nothing was said about the bit until we reached out wondering where they were??? Last week they put the panels on the 2/3 of post set in January, and set the last 1/3 of post. I was told they would be back in a few days to finish up. It's been 10 days since then??? NO PHONE CALLS, EMAILS, OR TEXT WITH EXCUSES AS TO WHERE THEY ARE. Wondering again, what is going on???? Today, I had to call the salesman Todd AGAIN, which is no fun for me at all. He is a nice guy, but the scheduling department is ruining any chance of getting a referral from us in a growing housing development. It's unfortunate for him too. However, he called back and said they would be back on Monday, March 10th, 2025 to finish up. We will see. If it is only a half day job, I am wondering what has taken them so long???? IF anyone has the owner's contact information please put it in the comments, because I would love to chat with them. I am tired of waiting for this fence and now have concerns what are we going to do if we need them to come back for any reason. This just sucks. American Fence Company will NEVER have a positive referral from me. There are NO EXCUSES for the poor customer service we have received. Save yourself hours of phone calls and WONDERING. Learn from our bad decision....and save yourself from wondering! Wish us luck.....hopefully we will see an end to this nightmare soon. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM or Jeff Hussman! After driving our truck and flatbed trailer 3.5 hours to pick up the fencing we had agreed upon, we were informed the appropriate person, Jeff Hussman, was out of the office. We eventually learned he sold it to someone else days before. He said he "tried to call", but didn't leave a voicemail or send a text, which he had done in the past. He said he would call us that night to make a plan to make it right with us...get us fencing for the same price and deliver it at no charge. He never called. He is on Facebook Marketplace. Avoid him there as well. read more

Had them install a 6 foot chain link fence, they said wait time would be 4 weeks before install started. They didn't put the fence in for 3 months. Not to mention they didn't put a tension wire at the bottom and my 3ft tall dog can just go right under it. When I contacted them to install a tension wire, which should come with a 6ft chain link fence, they quoted me $1,700 to add it on. Completely ridiculous. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I might as well have no fence and I'm out over $8000. Thanks American fence. read more

I've never written a negative review of a business before, but feel compelled to warn others of my experience with American Fence. When I first contacted them, they were very responsive and got me a quote promptly. They told me 5 weeks for the install to get me to pay the 60% down payment, which ended up being 8 weeks. I paid for the optional sprinkler insurance, but when I contacted them to make a claim after they hit a sprinkler line when digging, they are unresponsive. The reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 is that the fence does appear to be sturdy, but the customer service after the sale was the worst I have ever received. It should have been a sign that they disabled reviews and visitor posts from their business Facebook page. read more

Our fence looks terrible. No one cares enough to do anything about it when we mentioned it, yet they wanted the balance we owed them ASAP. We paid 2k for a fine that is so far off the ground that it doesn't even keep our dogs in which was the whole purpose of the fence. Spend a little more to get a fence so you know it's done correctly. read more

Hiring this company was one of the worst choices I've made in quite a while. When they had to come out different times to measure and adjust their estimates even though my layout did not change (I removed a section since it was along a neighbors fence) should have been a warning. After they needed a whopping 60% down and put the installation out 6 to 7 weeks it quickly became 8 to 9 weeks once they got my money. The installation didn't go any better, the crew was disorganized, didn't have the proper tools, and didn't seem to really know what they were doing - a several day installation ran into 2 weeks and not due to weather delays. The project was not well managed, parts needed were not ordered by them on time to be available for the installation (even though they had 8 weeks to get them). Once the fencing was finally installed, they painted parts that started to flake off after a couple of weeks - when asked they said you couldn't get them black - a two minute search on the Internet proved you could and when I wanted self closing hinges on a wooden gate, they said it wasn't possible, instead they wanted to strap a big spring across the FRONT of the gate - again a two minute search proved you could get self closing hinges for a wooden gate. Even though my fence looks really good, I would not recommend that you go through this company. While putting up the fence instead of it taking one day it took three days to do and the employees forgot there own tools two of of three days and had to use ours. They also left trash on my property and tried to hide it. When they put up the gates they have the bags from the hinges stuffed in between the post and fence boards. They also over charged me, they said that they might have to hand dig eight holes and said that I would only be charged for what they actually hand dug. I was home when they did the hand digging and they only dug seven holes. When talking to there corporate about this they argued with me about. After dealing with American Fence Co for a month about being over charged... trash being left on my property on purpose and there guys not bringing there own tools including a SAW!!! I finally gave up and just paid them. read more
