Unfortunately they did not level the floor before install so we ended up with boards slipping and separating from each other all over. After contacting Factory Flooring they did offer to come back in and redo the floor correctly. We were impressed and grateful even with having to remove everything from the basement for a second time. We had them come back and do a main floor laminate install a couple years later. Those floors have held up so far (no separating or other issues) I believe our first installer no longer works for them. Anyway, here we are again.....We went in and had a new flooring install scheduled for our top floor for today and tomorrow. We were told the installer would be here by 10 instead 3 hours later they are a no show. Not a single person, neither the installer or someone from Factory Direct called about any kind of delay. I called Factory Direct and was given the excuse of "truck problems" Take that as you will. I'm frustrated with the inconsistency of this company. I am no longer sure if this is a company I would recommend to other people. We spent literally our entire day killing ourselves to prep for an install today and now we will be without an office or bedroom for at least an extra day. If you've ever re-done your floors you know what a huge inconvenience this all is. All I can say is our floors better be perfect and hopefully they're more considerate of their clients in the future.

We came in to look at carpet and mark helped us. He showed us some great carpet at very reasonable…read moreprices. Unfortunately those reasonable prices were complete lies. He quoted us 3.25$ per square foot including pad and installation. We were completely on board before they came out to "measure" our less than 700 square foot basement. Now the math is 3.25 x 700=2275. Then you figure in some random crap that they need and you end up paying 2500-2700 right? Nope mark sends us a quote with the math 3.25 x 900=3600$. So he thinks his installer is going to have 200 square feet of waste... that is 28% waste ratio. Now let's move back to his math. 3.25x900 actually equals 2925. Oops I guess I wasn't supposed to be good at math. My bad. That means that on top of the 28.5% waste ratio he is charging 675$ in random nonsense hidden fees. Hard pass buddy.

Whose workmanship was poor. I have been using Underfoot Flooring since to fix the wrongs. Deborah in scheduling is always on her game and helpful even when clearly busy. I had a disposal leak the day before I was scheduled to be away. I trust Underfoot so much, I had zero trepidation and only gratitude when Deborah was able to get Nate, a fantastic wood professional to come by and access the damage. Nate went above and beyond to make sure my house was safe while I was away. He even went and bought replacement batteries for one of his tools to measure moisture and returned to my house to look at floor content. He then went into the crawl space to check for water. Nate is another five star employee. Who really showed genuine concern and the ultimate professional. Matt is just as dedicated. He is working with me to replace and refinish. His knowledge and experience is vast. I appreciate how flexible and committed he is to providing the best product and working with my concerns. Matt is also a total professional and each time I work with him he shines brighter. I feel grateful to have found and be able to work with Underfoot Floors! Everything they do is top notch. Just wish I had found them sooner. Thank you Deborah, Matt, and Nate for your quality service and exceptional customer service. Underfoot Floors has a great team of professionals that you will never regret working with.

Long review incoming. I dealt with Vama initially from out of state before moving into my condo, thinking based on positive reviews and my realtor being around that I could trust them to install floors properly without constant supervision. Boy, was I immensely wrong. It's been over a year, and I am still mad about my ongoing interactions with this company. Worst home services company I have dealt with in SLC. Initial problems: we showed up and were shocked to find that they hadn't bothered re-attaching any of our base boards, many of which they broke. Our garage was full of trash from the install, such that I couldn't park until they agreed to send someone back to clean up. Trash was left in our bathroom. Floor boards were installed crookedly and in some cases IN THE WRONG ROOMS. They put floor in our bathrooms where we didn't ask for it and didn't put floor in our closets where we had requested. Disaster. My first priority was getting the base boards dealt with. Sam initially claimed that it's normal for them to break base boards but when I pointed out that even their install guy admitted TO ME that he had done a particularly bad job because he was rushing to head to California (wtf), Sam did send me 400 to partly cover the expense of the handyman we had come make new base boards, as many of ours throughout the house were unsalvageable. But this took so much wrangling to finally have base boards and floors installed in our closet, that I didn't fight with them about re-installing flooring that looked like it was cut by someone who didn't know how to use a saw to cut in a straight line (again, see the pictures). That was my mistake. Fast forward over a year and floor is coming unattached so I finally reach out to see if I can get the rest of these issues fixed. At this point I finally get back in touch with Vama. Saga with customer service begins again as they repeatedly ignore my calls and give me a run around claiming they will call me back, not calling me back, rinse and repeat. Sam tells me it's been over a year and so this is damage caused by me. I ask how I could have caused my floors to be installed in wavy lines and get no answer. Great. I manage to waste a bunch of time trying to communicate with these people until they ghost again. So, here is this long overdue review. Do not do business with this company unless you want floors that look like what you see in these photos. Photo 1: Floor board with non-trivial chunk missing from the corner that was installed on the stairs Photo 2: Noticeably large wavy gap between edge of closet metal track and floor board. Photo 3: Roughly inch gap where they just didn't bother finding a piece that actually would fit to cover the whole ground of our closet. Absolutely wildly bad craftsmanship there. Photo 4: Again, board cut and installed in a wavy line next to our closet. Precision? Never heard of it. Wish I still had photos of the base board carnage on hand, but that will require me going quite a ways back in my phone
