A few years ago, I signed up to their summer beer can series and had a great time competing the series. It's a small club, but everyone is very pleasant and we have a great time sailing in the races. After the race, we usually tie up to their guest dock and have some beer and burger and wait for the results to be tabulated. We usually do pretty well unless the wind is very fluky... Other than club functions, the club is open only when there's a function or someone happens to be there.

It's peaceful, calm and beautiful. It can get windy so be prepared. Side note--the road leading to the water is in desperate need of repair. I have never seen such big dips in a road like these. Huge trash bins now, whereas people seem to be dumping we saw. Dogs were defecating on the ice plants and tearing up the already patchy grass. The Women's bathroom was occupied by a woman saying it was 'closed', as it seemed she had 5 people in there washing up. Oyster Point is a far cry from this decrepit marina. Clean, beautiful landscape, no public bathrooms besides one on the end, which is probably why there does not seem to be the homeless issue. Soon it will look like the Tenderloin. They need to do better.

Spotted a couple Gray Whales from a distance, and after a tip from another boat were able to get closer to two others swimming together and ride along with them for a while. Captain Smitty and Lee were great! Knowledgeable, friendly, informative, and great stewards of the sea, and marine life. We definitely recommend these guys. Go with an open heart, patience, and have fun!

It was so clean, well until we all made a mess. It is a lovely boat. We felt so safe with the crew. The Riptide is owned by Capt. William Smith. He has been a licensed captain for over 30 years. You will find it located on "H" dock at Pillar Pt. Harbor in El Granada (near Half Moon Bay), California. The Captain was with us and he was able to help the weak ones, like me, without making me feel like I did not belong. The boat leaves super early in the morning so get some sleep the night before. I had to nap after. Go to their website to see what type of fish is in season or you will not be happy. We went for Rockfish and caught a few and were so happy. We grilled it all up and it was great and we were able to serve a lot of people. I was hoping to see a whale, but sadly, did not. I think they are pretty rare to see in that area. They have clean bathrooms. We will be back, this time for salmon.

Meylinda and her all female staff were extremely patient, understanding, helpful, attentive, and instructive to all onboard. The boat is so comfortable and beautifully decorated. My 99 year old grandmother had the best time & appreciated the extra blankets provided on board and how comfortable Captain Joonya made our family feel! You will feel on the trip with your best friends having the time of your life. With the exception that your friend is an expert on getting with, driving the boat, and incredible stories! Pit Viper was completely sanitized, he had on his masks the entire time and just wanted us to enjoy the day! Not to mention, we came home with more fish than we can eat!
