I traded messages with one of the managers named Chao, who patiently answered all of my questions and delivered a written estimate within 24 hours. American Decora was definitely on my short list. Pricing was very competitive, responsiveness was terrific (e.g., Chao took measurements onsite the morning after I contacted him on short notice; we traded several messages on Yelp), and Chao was impeccably friendly, thorough, and professional - even after I informed him that I would be engaging another company. (Personally, I put a lot of stock in how someone responds when things don't go their way. Chao's response was very gracious and showed character, IMO.) My friend told me Best Buy shutter and sunburst shutter, bestbuy and sunburst came to my house, bestbuy shutter has the worst product, sunburst price is off the hook. I contacted American Decora about blackout roller shades for one of the bedrooms. Chao was very responsive in getting back to me and setting up an appointment to go over the different options available in blackout roller shades, as well as other options available. I also asked about shutters, which are more expensive, but Chao was very clear about the limitations of shutters in blocking out light compared to blackout curtains, shades, etc. I appreciated that honesty on his part, as some companies just try to sell the most expensive products rather than what actually suits the needs of the customer. Chao was very good about keeping in touch with me and letting me know the status of my order from start to finish, and he and one other person came to do the actual installation. They did a fantastic job of putting in the new roller shades, I'm very happy with the work and the look of the shades. I work at a law office and we needed some privacy blinds installed. I contacted a few stores in town to have them match the privacy blinds with the existing theme we have in the office. It came down to American Decora and this other store inside the Greenland Korean Supermarket. For products that are ALMOST identical, American Decora's price was less than half of the other store! We eventually went with American Decora because Chao was prompt in answering my text although I was at first worried about "you get what you paid for." I bought a new house and had no idea how to do design my windows. I called for an appointment with Chao at American Decora for consultation. Chao was very nice yet knew what I exactly needed for the house. He showed me product called Combi-Shades with samples. It was something I have never seen before, very easy to clean which is what I like the most!! He explained how it works and the design and I actually loved it. I picked the white color for the whole house. Then he recommended me to cover my master bedroom with room darkening shades since I work at night time and sleep during day. I never thought about darkening my room but it was a great solution to my situation, Chao explained very well the difference between room darkening and black out, room darkening is all I needed. He was very sincere to recommend and not pushy at all, I told him we had one more company coming for consultation and he was very understanding and left all the information for us to compare. The next consultation didn't go so well because all they care was push for a cheap blinds product that I didn't want. We called Chao on the same day to order the shades. Just moved to Las Vegas and needed window treatment. I received three quotes, and America Decora was the best. Chou came to my house and we discussed what I wanted. He listened to me. I contacted American Decora as their rating was stellar. I first called the phone number on their website a few times and there was no answer. I then called the number as listed on Yelp and I did get an answer. This was on June 1st. The gentlemen asked me to text him my address and they would set up an appointment time. I never heard from them. Now I look on Yelp and they are "temporarily closed". Does anyone know what's going on? read more

First I want to say thank you to Andy and American Decora Team. I got my shutter done about 6 months ago with AD. They explained to me about the warranty but I didn't pay too much attention thinking nothing would happen. With no surprise, when my daughter and friends were playing in the room, somehow they broke the lower part of the shutter. I was SO MAD! Then I remembered about the accidental warranty they told me about. I called Andy and he answered right away. He acknowledged the problem immediately and asked me if any children were hurt. I told him no and he said he would call back after talking to the manufacturer. Within 15 minutes, I got a call from him. My problem was acknowledged to factory already and he would come to re-measure the size. He came in the evening around 7pm, re-measured, and left. All of this happened in the SAME DAY. My new shutter is currently on the way. I never had this kind of customer service before that I was very surprised but also very relieved. I can't express how grateful I am. If you are looking to do shutters, go with American Decora. You will not regret it. read more
