The Amera people are not only annoying with their multiple calls, texts and emails; but they broke HIPPA law by calling surgical center and demanding to be informed about procedure and time, etc. They are expensive. Working with Amera was so easy. I needed transport last minute for an outpatient procedure and although I could get to my appointment, I needed someone to drive me home. I sent in a request via their website on a Sunday night and received a call on Monday morning to arrange for a pick up at a surgery center on Tuesday. Per the hospital guidelines, I needed transportation back home with a responsible person to arrive at the recovery area and drive me back to my residence. I'd like to express my deep appreciation to the team at Amera and especially to my driver, Jean, for their perfect service. After day surgery at Mass Eye and Ear, the staff notified Amera that I was ready to leave, and although my operation and recovery had unexpectedly ended over 90 minutes prior to the 5 pm time I had scheduled with Amera, they were able to notify my driver that I was ready to leave, and the nurses handed me over to him soon afterwards at the door that led directly from the hospital to his car. After that potential hassle was taken care of -- and on Boston Marathon Day when the traffic was far more congested than usual -- the ride itself was very mellow. In his clean, comfortable car, Jean and I talked about our lives all along the 30-minute way, and I was able to completely forget the moderate pain in my eye until he dropped me off at my home. When I was first quoted $130 for this service, I hesitated to seal the deal because that's a significant expense for me, but now I will honestly call Amera to make similar arrangements again if the need ever arises. Very impressive. Booking my appointment was easy and the follow up was thorough. There were confirmation e-mails/texts and the day of my procedure I received a call over an hour in advance of the time for the driver to arrive to be sure everything was still on track on my side. Elizabeth Jack was my driver to and from. She was at my apartment 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled time for arrival. She is delightful and I arrived at my appointment almost 30 minutes ahead of schedule with the Houston morning traffic being light. She was waiting for me after my procedure and signed the paperwork for my release. The drive home was again delightful. I had a great experience with Amera. I had been in search of medical transportation and found what I was looking for in Amera. All of their drivers are trained CNAs who are able to assist in cases of emergency. This is a huge relief if you're having a procedure or surgery. My driver Glory was superb! Please feel free to request her as your driver. She was personable and professional. She arrived on time and I arrived to my appointment on time. I suggest allowing 1.5 hours for an appointment in Philly if you live in the Burbs especially during early morning traffic. The office was also great to work with! I filled out their online form for transportation to outpatient surgery center. 2-3 weeks before the appointment. called to follow up and they said "watch your email". Nothing for 2 day. I made other arrangements. Today, 2 days before my procedure, I got a voicemail that they have my price and I can call or check my email. Very good service. The hospital surprised me by moving my procedure up a couple days, so I needed a ride less than 48 hours after I called Amera. Plus the procedure was late afternoon, so my pick up time was going to be around 6pm on a Friday evening. Neither of those caused any issue. The driver was a pleasant, personable young man. Excellent customer service from the first call to my trip home. This company is a lifesaver if you have no ride home after a procedure. Outpatient surgery centers won't even allow you through the door if you don't have a responsible adult to drive you home. I know as I work at an OSC. I contacted Amera to set up a one way transport from a medical clinoc to my home after my outpatient procedure. It was easy to do and everyone I spoke with was very helpful. I did have to wait awhile for the driver to show up but they told me this could happen with a one--way ride. The driver was very nice and I got back home with no issues. read more

I was in need of transportation for outpatient surgery today. Additionally, the surgery center required that a responsible adult stay with me during the procedure. I am so thankful that Amera could provide both transportation and someone to wait with me at the surgery center. The scheduling process was easy and there was lots of communication prior to the actual procedure. There was a courtesy call the day before, as well as the day of the surgery and transportation, plus lots of email confirmations. I also received a call when the driver arrived at my pick up location. I never had to doubt whether they would show up at the appointed time. The driver did arrived at the appointed time to pick me and stayed with me through out the morning, as requested. She was an excellent driver and very kind and just the sweetest person. She also ensured that I was able to safely get back into my home once the surgery was completed and I was returned home. I will definitely use Amera in the future when I need medical transport. Do not risk it, better off with Uber. After waiting an hour for pick up, I called the service to see if someone was coming. They told me driver had come and no one was there and that they would send him back. I indicated that ASC staff nurse had been watching for driver and no one had come . When driver arrived, he apologized for being over an hour late as he was "stuck" in traffic - at 2pm ! he had not come earlier. still do not know if company will try to charge me their addition "waiting fee" Car was old, dirty, two long separate cracks across windshield. Driver drove with one hand on steering wheel while holding and looking more at iPhone GPS than where he was driving. had issue following both GPS directions and mine. it's only a ten minute drive!! Swithing into wrong lanes and almost running through a gate at the gated community. Did not bother to ask if he was a CNA as website claimed because I would not have believed it. Valery is an excellent driver and an exceptionally kind and thoughtful person. He was prompt (early! Before 7:00 am!) and very helpful. I wish more medical providers knew about this valuable service. This is the second time I have used Amera for a medical transport to a procedure. I filled out the web based information and got a call within a day. When they called I informed them that my appoint was moved to a new day because the doctor was going to be out on the original day I requested. They had no issue and adjust it with out any additional charge. The day of my appointment they called me an hour before the drive to show up. The driver showed up to my house at on time. The driver was very professional. I arrived early to the appointment. Since I was getting twilight the drive came in with me and still was very professional. At the time of pick up. The driver came in and checked me out and asked if I needed any assistance to get to the vehicle. I was ok to walk on my own accord . So I told him I was good.
