They don't do it right and will ghost you when you have a problem! I contracted them to help me with an issue from 2017 because they claimed they could solve my problem. Ultimately, the only service they performed was communicate with the IRS that I would be setting up a payment plan (for a bill that was illegitimate in the first place, but that's a different story...the IRS should be ashamed of themselves). Once I got all my paperwork in, it was over. No communication from Chris or Roxanna. The IRS lost my paperwork (go figure), and no help was rendered after that. Because of this, I owe an extra $225 fee. When I tried to get this corrected by leaving 3 voicemails and 2 emails, they refused to call me back. I have documented everything. They should give me a refund for their error! In sum: no tax relief (they shouldn't have charged me with less than $10k debt), limited services, failure to perform, ZERO back-end support. Scam Scam Scam I called seeking tax forgiveness for my $25,000 in taxes which they told me over the phone before I sign up for anything. That I was pretty much sure to get. My service started with me paying $670 up front. To get my case started. Then about 2 weeks later, I get a call stayling. Now, my representative has my case. That's going to cost me another $2700 so he could start working on my case and filing my information with the IRS. I was then told not to pay anything until I hear back from them. Any paperwork? Or anything I get from the IRS I need to give to them for the case. Now, prior to using them, I was already paying $300 a month on my taxes. About a year probably 2 go by. I finally get told by them. I don't qualify for tax forgiveness and that I need to use the equity in my home to pay off my taxes. I actually was upset because this is not what you told me before I signed up for all this money. They then came back and said, oh, don't worry about it. We're gonna keep on fighting for your case. 2 months later, they'd come back and said, there's nothing I can do, but they cut me a deal with the I. R, S, my new payments now will be $270 a month. So I basically paid them $4300 for them to drop my payment down $30 total for my taxes. Like I said before I used them, I was paying $300 and they claim they got me a deal. 'cause now my new payments will be $270. They scan me, they took my money. They did nothing for me. This place should be illegal. This place should be sued.This place should be out of business. I end up going in Payne tax accountant. I took care of me the proper way. What should I did the first time? To find out, I have to pay the IRS back and set up a payment plan. I already knew that and had a payment plan set up. Please don't grant Republic Tax Relief the power to represent you to the IRS. It's a mistake. Republic Tax Relief will charge you an upfront fee to take a look at your case and offer a 15 day return policy from the day of signing your initial agreement. However, they don't actually get to the assessment part until after the 15 day period ends, leaving you with no way to get a refund. Then you're left with their assessment only to find out that you will have to pay them more fees to continue the case and to file with the IRS. To top that off, they will write in their agreements that you are compliant to be represented by Republic Tax Relief for at least three tax years at their standard fee, which starts at $500. I could go on, but I won't. Bottom line, if you have issues with the IRS, it's best to keep looking for another company to work with. Republic Tax Relief seems sincere, but rest assured, they are not. read more

After several thousand dollars spent to acquire their services, and over a year and a half, they did absolutely nothing for me. I was told during my consultation that I was a good candidate to either have my back taxes expunged, or at a minimum reduced significantly. Neither happened. No settlement was reached with the IRS, and after a year and a half the only relief I'm getting is a one year lowered payment which will then skyrocket after (I could have called and made that deal myself). I do NOT recommend their service. I feel taken advantage of, and the only positive was that I haven't had to pay my taxes owed over the last 18+ months. But I will still in the end have to pay every dime despite being told I had a "good case". I recommend finding another tax help service, or better yet don't get into a back-tax situation. When I called Republic Tax Relief, my first concern was that I was dealing with a reputable organization. My situation with the IRS was causing me to lose sleep every night and be stressed every day. They were telling me that I owed over $25,000 in back taxes from 2014 from my eTrade account, and I had gone back and fourth with them for over a year trying to resolve it! The IRS treated me like a criminal even though I've paid taxes every single year of my life without fail. Needless to say, I got nowhere with them and they eventually sent me a letter threatening to seize my bank accounts and property if I didn't pay in full right away. Within about 60 days I received a letter from the IRS's with a revised amount due of $233.15. Imagine my relief when I called Travis about the letter! He explained that when you have former IRS agents working for you then you get results quickly. Republic tax took an extremely stressful situation and made it go away. They are honest, reputable, and aren't afraid to do the work that is required to resolve your tax issues. I just got this in the mail and i could not be more ecstatic. Amazing is all I can say. I owed a lot of money for stuff that wasn't my fault but because I waited too long, there wasn't much I could do but settle this out. I owed close to $215,000 and Republic Tax was able to get me a settlement with the IRS for $21,000. I saved nearly $195K. These guys are the real deal and even through I was hesitant at first, I'm so glad I did because my life is changed forever. I was behind on my taxes for several years. I owed for a past year, and then didn't file because I knew it was just going to snow ball. Our of fear I put my head in the sand. Out of sight out of mind right? Ya until I wanted my stimulus check and could not get it. I could not get a hold of the IRS if my life depended on it. I couldn't handle the stress and anxiety. I hired these guys for $795 which I thought was a lot. But when I realized that I was getting for that money, I was really quite happy. They filed all my taxes- their CPA did amazing in making sure I didn't owe a lot on my returns and also set up an S Corp for me. I will be using them in the future for my taxes. As far as my debt- they went back and amended one of my tax returns, and immediately cut the debt in half. Within 6 months, they asked me if I could afford to settle. I couldn't imagine paying them and the settlement. there was just no way to afford it. My case manager was able to get me a payment plan for them, and push out my settlement date so that I was not paying them and the irs. It is so hard to find a great tax place in general, but to find one from a radio ad, was incredible. I have to say, they are pretty bad a**. I believe I was scammed by this business!!! Stay away!! They advertised they can reduce or eliminate your taxes. What a lie!! They'll take your money first and you still will end up paying your taxes! I called them and explain my tax situation first, which included owing taxes for 2018, 2019 and now 2020 but I needed help because I had a $6500 tax debt that I was already paying installments on. When I explained all of this in the beginning to Catherine she told me "oh yeah we can probably help you but first I have to take an application and then a lawyer will get back to you. Once they did this trickery, she said we can't help you until you pay $800. I said, "no I can't afford that," then she said they were running a promotion for $490. (I should have known just based on that sudden switch-- if that was the case, why wasn't that the first price they gave me? (Scam!!) So my dumb behind gave her the $490 Now here is where things go left. Katherine told me that a lawyer will call me in exactly one week from that day, which was a Friday. Remember, I paid her $480 on the spot. Long story short, I had to chase them down for nearly a week past the time "a lawyer was supposed to call me" to find out what happen. Once I got in touch with somebody, it was NOT the lawyer (and never once did a lawyer contact or speak to me). The person was a tax preparer!! Who was trying to beat more money out of me. He told me I didn't qualify for the program because (get this) "you didn't file your 2018 and 2019 taxes." Isn't that something I told Katherine BEFORE she even took my application?!? (Scam-alert)! Basically, they knew that I would not qualify for the program but they took my money anyway and then afterwards tried to show me this contract talking about all the "services" that they had to provide in order to get the $490. Those services were bullshit!! It doesn't take $490 to do what they SAY they did, plus they didn't do anything until they found out that I was about to go to the Better Business Bureau on them and wanted a refund since I didn't even qualify for the program. They refused to give my money back and all of a sudden started sending me paperwork about the "services" they provided. It's BS!! Don't trust that they aren't charging you $250 hour to enter some info in the computer to tell you you don't qualify. Then charge you $490! This is probably what happened to me and many others based on the poor or absent response when I tried to get my money back. I think they're taking people's money. You can do what they do yourself. The only difference is you may need to spend an hour or two on the phone with the IRS, but you can do exactly what they can do anymore. Don't pay more than a hundred dollars but even then they'll come back and say you have to pay all or most of the debt. What are you paying fir then? This is why they won't guarantee anything. BTW: Tape all you conversations too. And oh, did I tell you that they were going to charge me $300 per W-2 to do my taxes? That was another $900 they were trying to get out of me. They took my $490 and refused to refund me even though I didn't even qualify for the program!!! If that ain't scamming somebody I don't know what is! I'm notifying the BBB. I heard a commercial on the radio and dialed the # mostly to save it to my phone since I didn't have time at that very moment to make the call. The next day (Thursday) I receive a call from Travis Young saying he missed a call from me and we proceed to talk through my needs. At the end of the call he told me services to start would be $795 and ask if I can wanted to pay with a credit or debit card. I was a little surprised because payment hadn't been discussed before that point and instead of asking me if that works for me he just asks for a card #? I told him I would need to do some research and look into the info he was sending me before I paid anyone any money. He proceeded to pressure me saying that my situation could escalate and then it would end up costing more in the long run if I didn't get on this quickly. I definitely don't like being pressured like that so at that moment is when I started to have some doubts. In my research I came across an article about Tax Relief company's and what to watch out for. The top two things to watch for was a company who asks for money before they have done anything. The 2nd was a promise to reduce tax debt to a "too good to be true" number. Travis said he could turn my debt to $1k-$2 and he was asking for money up front. So I'm weary about this company but also seeing the great reviews so I'm confused in what way to go. Friday late afternoon Travis calls me back. I tell him my concerns and he immediately gets defensive. He starts speaking to me in a degrading tone and says his company is reliable and he'll open his books to me but then he says "if your just being cynical then that's a psychological disorder and I'm not a therapist." I was obviously offended so in shock I ask "what did you just say to me?" And he repeats himself word for word. I told him at this point he's being extremely rude to me so I'm going to have to look into other options instead of his company. He tells me "you were never looking at me anyway. I signed up with Republic Tax about 7 months ago and my case is finally wrapping up. I am so glad to have this over and the results were fantastic. I was able to fix a huge tax issue that was caused by a really bad past CPA I hired and the team at Republic fixed it all. If you are dealing with any letters from the IRS and you know that it could be wrong, call these guys and let them look at the notices. I thought there was nothing left but to fold to the IRS, but this company really went over every part of my tax returns for the last 4 years.
