Jessica, who administered my driving test, was incredibly friendly, understanding, and professional. Even when we ran into some issues with my international documents (as I'm new to the country), she went above and beyond to help me through the process and made sure everything worked out. Her calm and kind demeanor made a stressful moment feel manageable. Although this BMV location is about 1 hour and 30 minutes from where I live, I'm truly glad I chose to take my test here. Thank you so much, Jessica -- you made a big difference and you deserve the best!

If you are a history buff or someone who appreciates artistic talent, then stop by the courthouse…read morein Winchester to check out this monument on the northeast corner. This is the oldest Civil War monument in the entire state of Indiana! It is second in height only to its namesake in Indy. I also like that there are plaques about how the monument was funded and who the artist was that contributed the bronze work. Lorado Taft was a famous sculptor from Illinois who completed these numerous bronzes in 1892. There are four corner figures including Artillery, Navy, Cavalry, and Infantry. There is a flag bearer positioned on the top. There also is an encircling bronze ring above the base that is an action diorama. The monument was designed by Indy architect A A McKain. It is made from ornate granite. Review #2589

It is accessible at exit #256 of I-69 north & south bound. Most of my experiences in Gas City occur along Indiana State Rd 22, probably like the rest of the non-locals, just passing through from Kokomo to I-69 and back. Most of the business are located on or just off of Indiana State Rd 22. The most exciting thing for me here is the Starbucks; believe it or not, I was thrilled when they built it because it gave me a good place to take a road trip break. Other than that, I've only ever gassed up (no pun intended) or stopped at K-mart. I like to think of it as Quiettown, America. I have yet to hear, see or experience anything negative here so Gas City is A-OK with me.

Unfortunately, they don't allow walk-ins at all. The guard was perhaps the most helpful guard I've ever met. Patient, helpful and friendly. The trick is to call, hang up, redial, hang up repeat until you get through. If it takes fifty or sixty tries so be it. Why the government should work this way is beyond my comprehension. Eventually we did get through and the person on the phone was able to take the time to fix our problem as best possible and we were able to avoid an appointment. For those that don't know. To get through on the phone, just keep calling and calling. Try early morning was what one person told us.

This is your typical government building. It was very sterile, and serious, and quiet. No fun is to be had here. I checked in via the QR code on the sign when you first walk in. They do also have a touch-screen kiosk for checking in as well. The lobby was clean and the security guard stopped someone in the doorway who was attempting to enter with a beverage. When another patron began playing videos on their phone with the volume on high, I was disturbed by his inaction (this is one of my pet peeves). Their phone was extremely loud and there are signs posted stating that all ringers and such should be set to silent. They weren't even watching it either. They were speaking to each other in even louder voices, attempting to talk over their loud phone. I gave them the side-eye and then gave the security guard "the look", like dude, do your job! "The look" worked because he then announced that all phones should be on silent. Thank you for your service, kind sir. My number was called pretty quickly and the gentleman that assisted me was thorough, but also quick. I appreciated that. He congratulated me on my nuptials and handled my request for a new SS card in minutes. I commented at the end "Well, that was painless" to which he responded "Yeah, I don't usually start inflicting pain until after noon" See, you can have fun at the social security administration!
