If I could give negative stars I would. I had a very disappointing and extremely disturbing…read moreexperience at this dry cleaner. I had previously used this business in the past without any major issues, so I was surprised by how differently I was treated during this visit. Initially, I contacted the business by telephone to arrange a Monday evening pickup. At the beginning of the call, the employee greeted me politely. However, after I identified myself, his tone changed, and he began speaking to me in a noticeably loud and abrupt manner. During the conversation, he repeatedly said things such as "HOLD ON" in a raised voice. I politely explained that I could hear him perfectly well and asked him to lower his voice. I also suggested that saying "Please hold on" would be a more respectful way to communicate with a customer. After I provided this feedback, there was several seconds of silence, and the conversation ended without any acknowledgment or response. Because of this interaction, I decided to return to the store to retrieve my two shirts rather than continue doing business there. When I returned to retrieve my two shirts, the situation escalated. As I attempted to retrieve my shirt, the employee pulled it back instead of handing it over. He then pointed his finger at me and shouted, "Don't come back here." I responded by saying, "Don't point your finger at me," while requesting that he return my shirt. At that point, he threw the shirt at me rather than handing it back in a professional manner. I found this behavior completely unacceptable. I was a paying customer who had requested the return of my own belongings. Regardless of whether an employee agrees with a customer's feedback, there is no justification for turning an ordinary customer-service interaction into a hostile confrontation. The situation became serious enough that I contacted the police shortly afterward. Responding officers attended the scene, took my information, and documented the incident in a police report. The officers explained their assessment of the incident to me. I am including this information to accurately describe the seriousness of what occurred, not to suggest that the employee was convicted of any offense. What disappointed me most was the complete breakdown in professionalism. A simple acknowledgment of my feedback or a polite response would have been sufficient. Instead, the interaction escalated from a telephone conversation about scheduling to a confrontation when I returned to collect my belongings. I understand that running a business can be stressful, but customers should not have to tolerate shouting, finger-pointing, or having their belongings thrown at them. I am sharing my experience so that other customers can make an informed decision about whether to use this establishment. I will not be returning. I hope management takes this incident seriously and reviews its customer-service practices to ensure that future customers are treated with courtesy and professionalism.

Island Laundromat - After I left the laundromat, the manager followed me outside and began recording me at close range, holding his phone near my face.

Extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience. If I could give this place zero stars I would…read more I started a load in double-load Machine #11 on the left side of the laundromat at approximately 3:00 PM. The machine cost $3.50, and I selected the hot-water setting. When I returned at approximately 4:15 PM, the machine had been running for about an hour and fifteen minutes and there was no water in it. I brought this to the attention of an employee named Patricia. She then told me, "I forgot to put water in there," and added the water. This meant I had to wait approximately another hour, wasting nearly two hours and fifteen minutes of my time. What made the experience worse was the complete lack of an apology. Patricia acknowledged that she had forgotten to add the water, but did not apologize for the mistake or the significant inconvenience it caused. I then escalated the issue to the manager, Heep, and asked for a refund. Instead of addressing my main concern, why the machine had been allowed to run for over an hour without water--he focused on asking who had put the clothes into the machine. I explained that regardless of who loaded the machine, the laundromat is responsible for properly operating its equipment and services. He ultimately refused to provide a refund. The manager's handling of the situation was extremely unprofessional. After I left the store because he refused to resolve the issue, he came outside and began recording me at close range, including holding his phone near my face. I repeatedly asked him why he was coming outside and why he was recording me, but he did not respond to my questions. I found this behavior disturbing and unnecessary, especially since the conversation inside the store had already ended and I had chosen to leave. Mistakes happen, but forgetting to add water, wasting more than two hours of a customer's time, offering no apology, refusing to provide a refund, handling the situation confrontationally, having an employee laugh during the situation, and then following the customer outside while recording them is not acceptable customer service. Honestly, this is some disturbing diablo stuff. I will not be returning.

Oh, Staten Island Laundry Company... what would I do without you?…read more I've been going to this place for almost the entire five years I've lived on Staten Island. With my hectic six day work week, which often includes night shifts, it is such a relief to always know I can rely on this establishment to pick up, wash, dry, fold, hang, and deliver back my laundry, which is always warm and smelling fresh upon receipt. I've gotten to know some of the staff and ownership pretty well, and it's always nice to stop and chat with them after a busy work week. They are EXTREMELY professional, down-to-earth, friendly, and very hard-working, even in the midst of a pandemic that has decimated Staten Island. They deserve all of the success that I hope and believe the borough has and will continue to grant them. Thank you guys so much.

I put clothes in separate bags with brightly colored labels indictating the washing instructios for each bag. I pay a lot of money for my clothes and linens, and I do not want them abused or damaged. Twice now, I have received my laundry back with clear evidence that instructions were neither read nor followed. I sent expensive, highly concentrated laundry detergent, and the entire bottle was used on three loads. Wasting my money, TWICE. The disregard for my personal property is outrageous. I'm sure they have no intention of refunding me hundreds of dollars for the early destruction and replacement of my fine garments that I specifically said were meant to be hung up to dry. These included wool, cashmere, and silk. The advertising is a lie. You can send instructions, but you will be LUCKY if anyone reads or follows them. I will never use this company again. I am demanding a full refund -- not that it could ever cover the damage they have done. They also keep sending me wire hangers, that I have repeatedly told them I did not want. The message is clear: it doesn't matter what I want. They will do whatever they feel like and charge me extra for it. Completely irresponsible and careless launderers.
