UPDATE FEB 13 2026: I am officially lowering my rating to 1 star. I recently tried to update just…read moremy star rating, but since it was removed, I am reposting with a full explanation (sorry Yelp!) Here is the "why". In January 2026, I was contacted by the father of a current bride who was experiencing similar communication issues that I faced months ago. It was disappointing to hear that this is still an ongoing issue. After messaging him back and forth, I updated my review on another platform (Google) in February 2026 to advise other brides to do their due diligence and warn that communication was still a major issue. The owner responded back to my review and characterized my feedback as "bordering on harassment." It is EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE for a business to label a COMPLETELY HONEST REVIEW as borderline harassment. She was completely defensive, deflecting her excuses onto me and took no accountability for her actions. Her response further proves my point regarding communication as a major problem. Due to this recent unprofessionalism, i am taking a star back and leaving just the one.

Unfortunately, Luxe & Lace and its owner, Katelynn, made it the most stressful part of my daughter's nuptials. We ordered the wedding dress on May 4th, 2025. At this appointment, the stylist assured us that the dress would arrive in 6-8 months with plenty of time for alterations. After six months, we checked in with Bellevue Bridal on November 1st, 2025 to determine when the dress would arrive so that my daughter would have time to make alterations. To our surprise, Bellevue Bridal was no longer at their Bellevue location and had rebranded to Luxe Lace, moving their shop to Seattle. There was no email or phone call to notify us of the location change. Our original stylist at Bellevue Bridal had also left the company. We called and spoke to Keith at Luxe Lace who took our information, and he said he would have the owner call us back to give us a status on our dress. On November 5th, we called again and left a message as we did not receive a call from the owner. On November 6th, Keith informed us he had found our dress order and that production usually takes six to eight months. We were relieved that at least he found our dress order. I have documented our further transactions with Katelynn: January 2nd, 2026: We left a message to get a status update - no response January 3rd, 2026: Called again, Mackenzie took our call and said she would ask Katelynn to give us a call back. No response again. January 4th, 2026: We visited the storefront (Seattle) and spoke to Katelynn directly. She took our name down on Post-It notes and said she would get back to us by January 6th. We did not hear from Katelynn at all and decided on January 10th to cancel our transaction through our credit card company. Even after the credit card refund, we did not get any response from Katelynn. Our daughter, the bride, also never received any communication regarding her dress, and had to rush to find another wedding gown less than two months before her March wedding. Luxe Lace should not be in the bridal dress business if they cannot keep track of their orders and provide timely communication to their customers. No bride should have to go through an experience like this.

I was in yesterday and we purchased a prom dress for my daughter. We had an appointment. However,…read moreupon arrival I felt what many reviewers mention. It was chaotic. The dresses were tightly packed in long racks and no one helped us with picking out dresses. We were told to select what she wanted to try on and hang it on a rack end. After my daughter selected 4-5 dresses she was shown a stall to try them on. She ended up liking one and we purchased it. The biggest shock came when I paid the bill, they asked for a tip! I was shocked. We were given the most minimal assistance and no one brought her dresses to try. My daughter did all the work. I was stunned, I did leave a small tip but wish I had not. I was completely caught off guard. I've never been asked to leave a tip when dress shopping anywhere. My recommendation would be to go here and try stuff on for size then order it online. We did not need altercations, but I heard those were quite expensive. I would not recommend this place for business.

They seemed to have a large selection but the space was way too small for the number of dresses. My friend was the bride which we had to clarify multiple times with the same employee. The woman who was helping us did not have a very welcoming attitude and was acting very snippy towards us as if the parlor was busy, although it was not. The part that made us leave was that my friend, the bride, began looking at the dresses. Without measuring or asking, the employee assumed the size of the bride and had her move to rack of dresses that she assumed fit the size of the bride. This was not taken kindly as it is not very nice to assume someone's clothing size without measuring or asking first. It was not even close to my friend's size either. It was not said in a helpful tone and was taken in an unkind way. We left promptly after that comment was made. Would not recommend to friend who is not a size 2 or above.

Instead, we were immediately met with a harsh and inflexible attitude from our sales associate, Bea. She insisted they could "absolutely not" accommodate more than three guests plus the bride and handled the situation with zero empathy. She also claimed this policy was clearly outlined in multiple emails and signage. That is simply false. I reviewed all of my confirmation and reminder emails--there is no mention of a guest limit anywhere. The way she treated my family was honestly shocking. She upset my godmother to the point of tears and was so rude and dismissive to my mom that she felt uncomfortable enough to leave the store. That alone made the experience heartbreaking. To make matters worse, the professionalism was not there. Bea was dressed in a way that felt unprofessional and completely inappropriate for a bridal boutique, with her midriff fully exposed, which added to the overall uncomfortable vibe. This should have been a special, once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience, and instead it was stressful, awkward, and upsetting. I would strongly discourage other brides from booking here.

I took a leap of faith…read morewith Eltsa Bellevue based on the Greenlake reputation and felt like it was an uphill battle for my 7 weeks of alterations. I originally had a size 8 dress that Marina said was too tight to do any alterations to and apparently had no extra inseam material to work with (which was totally fine, I trusted her). I immediately ordered a new dress in size 12 to provide the proper amount of material she needed to work with, as she requested. Week after week I noticed little progress being made in the dress, even after expressing that the dress was a fit-and-flare/trumpet shape (also showing pictures of the dress from the designer's website, see first picture below). It was oversized and had no shape to it-- completely A-line shape instead of fitted. At week 5, she told me the next appointment would be my pick-up appointment and it looked like a sack (second picture below). When I expressed my concern for the dress looking A-line, with no shape that it was intended to have, she insisted there was nothing she could do to tailor the dress more. There was "nothing more to take in" even thought you could grab about an inch of extra material along my hips and there was plenty to take in down the thigh and back seams. I would call this out to her but she would dismiss me, and since I am not a seamstress, I trusted her. There were also instances where I felt gaslit into the dress being fine, for example, I pointed out the neckline was uneven from her tailoring and she would say she didn't see the unevenness. I had to be very firm and explicit in order to get things fixed, and even after I took my dress home, I still noticed some of the boning issues in the bodice weren't fully fixed. But I was exhausted at that point. I had to call Margo from Greenlake to come in and help because Marina was so resistant to helping. I was literally crying about how disappointed and sad I felt about my dress. Margo immediately knew what to do and my dress was transformed to my original request/the original shape of the dress. I was so happy with how it turned out after that but it was frustrating and disappointing to experience Marina's hesitation, resistance, and lack of understanding to fix the dress to help it fit my body. You will notice the dress is very simple with only one layer underneath. I'm surprised it was this difficult to accomplish with Marina but am grateful for Margo at Greenlake. Worth the drive to Greenlake for a better experience with your wedding dress!! Even with all the inconvenience, I still paid over $1100 and was charged for work that was done incorrectly. Definitely a learning experience but you only need a wedding dress once!!! Do it right with someone else. The first picture is my dress from the designer website. She "finished" my dress in time for her November vacation, but when I picked it up, there were a few things I was really unhappy with, which I'll list below. First, I will mention that I called Marina at the end of Sept for my mid-Nov wedding. 1. When I first called, she mentioned that she takes the entire month of Nov off, so the dress HAD to be finished before 10/31, which she said she could do, based on what I needed altered. (straps taken in, bodice/bust fitted to my size, high-slit added on one side, and bustle). After a few readjustment fittings, it seemed a little like she was rushing toward the end of the month, and she didn't exactly do/complete everything I wanted. 2. Besides the strap length and high slit, the biggest alteration needed on my dress was the bust size. The bust had boning and was FAR too large for my natural size. I asked her if she could adjust/fix it to fix my body, and she essentially said NO! She recommended adding padded sticky cups to fill it out, (which I did), but it STILL left a big gap at certain angles, and just looked far too large for my natural shape. This was the thing I disliked the most about my dress. A highly skilled seamstress would have been able to adjust this, and I feel like Marina said no because of her time constraints, and my opinion is that is a dishonest practice. 3. I picked up the dress around Oct 30th, and didn't realize it until after she was closed for November, but my dress was completely missing the hook clasp at the back!!! luckily the zipper went all the way up, so it didn't look horrible, but not having it on my wedding day meant the dress wasn't quite as secure/fitted as it should have been. I was really upset about it for a moment on my wedding day.. When all was said and done, I still found a way to feel great on my wedding day, but these adjustments would have gone MILES to help me feel more beautiful and stress free. I paid nearly $1k in alteration fees, and still really didn't get the dress exactly as I wanted. I almost wish I hadn't used venmo. TLDR: It seemed like Marina cared more about getting a client in/out than helping me feel my absolute best on my wedding day. If you just need basic adjustments (hem, straps), Eltsa Bridal and Marina could be a great option for you. If your dress needs more complex adjustments, go to a more skilled seamstress, as the cost will end up the same.

Ashley attends New York Bridal Fashion Week twice a year, so she is up to date on all the dress trends and keeps her collection fresh. I felt so comfortable having open conversations with her regarding what I like for a dress, what I don't like, and appreciated her honest feedback. I never felt pressured to make a certain decision or purchase. Ashley knows wedding dress shopping is a process and respected my opinions and personal timeline. Once I found the wedding dress of my dreams, I was so happy that alterations were also done in-house by the Nyanza team. When I started shopping at other salons, I was surprised that all of the ones I visited did not have their own alteration services and would've required me to find a trusted seamstress. The fact that my entire wedding dress experience was all with Nyanza was such a relief. My alterations were absolutely perfect. Of all the bridal shops I had been to, I enjoyed the selection at Anthropologie the most. I got to try a variety of styles (beaded, lace, sparkles, simple, a-line, fitted, ballgown, etc.) and narrow down what I like, but I really did like a majority of the dresses I tried on here as opposed to the recommendations or selections I saw at other bridal shops. All of the dresses I tried here I rated 7-9/10 for my personal rating and they all fell within my budget (less than 2k). 2. I loved that I could see their inventory online and indicate ahead of time in the booking form which dresses I wanted to try. These dresses were already on my rack and prepared for me when I arrived. Other shops I had been to gave me time to peruse and look around at the beginning which was nice but it definitely ate into the appointment time. 3. The appointment was free and was 90 minutes long. Sometimes, I felt an hour was too short at other places but here I was able to try on all my pre-selected gowns, peruse the racks more, and try on an extra 4-5 gowns I either missed on the website or were new so weren't listed on the website yet. 4. I enjoyed my stylist's help so much. Elle was very helpful in getting the dresses on and off, clipping the sample down, taking pictures for me as I did not have anyone else with me at my appointment, and suggesting alteration points to make the dresses as close to what I wanted as possible. She was very professional and kind. 5. The availability of the dresses was also a big plus. It sounds like, as long as your size is in stock, it is as simple as ordering online and you can have it arrive within a couple of weeks. They mentioned some styles may be back ordered by a month or so but it's nice to hear that I won't have to wait the 6-8 month timeline for ordering a custom dress through a designer. The only downside I would say is parking. Because this is in the heart of downtown, parking will be difficult. I had a friend drop me off and pick me up for my appointment. Overall, really loved my experience here and would highly recommend stopping by if you like what you see on their website.

I was only allowed to bring one guest with me as the BHLDN area is a small section of the Anthropologie store. I did bring one more guest but they had to stay in the Anthropologie section as a "shopper". It was still very easy for my second guest to be part of the experience as I had to walk across the store to the regular dressing rooms to try on my dress, since there was another bride trying on dresses in the actual bridal area. The person that helped me was Sophie and she was super helpful. This was my first place I went shopping for wedding dresses and she provided ample information on each dress I tried on. Since the workers cannot come into the dressing room with you, I had my mom help put the clips on my dress and Sophie was able to provide verbal directions that were helpful. Masks were worn by everyone the entire bridal appointment, but I felt that I was still able to envision the dress and I did try on a veil. For my second appointment I made here, I was able to re-try on the dress with a veil to figure out if I truly liked the dress. During this appointment, I went by myself and Sophie was still able to help me. When I needed help with clipping my dress and placing a veil on, she had a glass fixture on wheels that was used to create space between us. There is a hole in the glass where Sophie put her hands through with gloves to apply clips on my dress and a veil. Overall, I had a great experience at BHLDN and was able to find THE dress here. To make matters worse, they wanted me to drive over an hour to University Village at 3:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter stuck in the broken dress so they could "inspect" the zipper. My daughter was part of a group of 11 seniors headed to professional pictures, dinner, and the prom--time was extremely limited. This lack of understanding and flexibility made a very stressful situation even worse. When I expressed my desire for a refund, I was told it was outside their 30-day window and no refund or exchange would be offered. When we purchased the dress, we were told we had to buy it immediately to have it in time for the dance--essentially protecting them from any responsibility, no matter the circumstances. Adding insult to injury, when my daughter tried contacting the woman for help to get out of the dress, her calls went unanswered and were never returned. We were also wrongly accused of zipping the dress incorrectly and misaligning the zipper teeth. Anyone who has dealt with formal dresses knows it takes more than one person to zip these dresses. None of the teeth were damaged, and the zipper was not misaligned -- my daughter was fully zipped into the dress before it failed. They clearly don't care about your special evening; the money is the only thing that matters. I cannot recommend this shop for formal dresses. There are shops that care far deeper than your pockets.
