Like searching for a good…read moredoctor for yourself, it was hard to find good care for my little mutt Fiona {aka Fionabear, aka Nana, aka Tha 'il Nana, ). Reviews in the area were mostly negative, but had to look past that and give someone a try. First call, and I believe I recall speaking to Andi. She was answering calls, and setting up appointments. Whom is still there and seems to love working there. She's been very accommodating with everything from picking up medications and scheduling appointments with ease. Fiona first started out seeing Dr Thompson, and later we worked with Dr Shoberg as Nana got older. With Dr Thompson, she showed great care during the times Fiona was healthy. She basically was treating her with a general 'wellness' plan; Performed routine exams, blood work, shots, nail maintenance, and more in order to keep Fiona in good shape. Whenever Fiona got sick, I also trusted her diagnosis and treatment. As my lil' mutt got older and started losing weight, Dr Shoberg took over and we knew the end was near. But with both vets, they exuded compassion in helping us figure out what my be wrong with our Fiona. What steps to take next, and how much it cost up front. Exams or veterinary specialist can be expensive, but it's a drop in the bucket when it comes down to saving or extending your pets' life. Thank you Dr Thompson, Dr Shoberg, Andi, and staff for taking care of Fiona over the years, and until the end (RIP Nana: May 1st, 2023).

But anyway, I was behaving like a loser and I was actually losing and Dr. Gordon was never anything but respectful and nice to me above and beyond what I deserved. I had some dumb idea about doing the injection myself, but he managed to talk me out of it in one sentence with no perceived loss of face to me. Aside from treating me abnormally well, he treated my cat well. He held him like he had feelings even after he was dead (I know because I burst in rudely to make sure) and he is an example of someone who cares for animals in every way, owners being part of them. The doctor who saw us before he could was also extraordinarily kind and I would like to express appreciation to her, but I do not remember her name. The receptionist was also great, telling me about the apple orchard for my pet's ashes in a considerate way, but I don't know her name either. Thank you. If you have to do a hard thing with a pet, even if you don't know how shamefully you'll behave when you do, you Will know that this group of people will not let you nor your pet down.

I initially called the hospital but there was no answer. And shortly after I hung up I received a text message stating that I could text to schedule an appointment and I'd get a response within 72 hours. So I replied to the text message and was able to get an appointment confirmed later that evening. The hospital's hours and doctor availability works well for my schedule and the location is conveniently close to my home/work. When we arrived for our Friday evening appointment we were greeted by the nicest staff member and directed to sit in the waiting area which is fully stocked with snacks and beverages for both humans and pets. After a few minutes we got set up in the exam room and met the technician and the vet who were both personable and kind and our dog loved them, along with everyone else in the office. We had a really good first appointment for our new puppy. The staff seemed knowledgeable, addressed all of our concerns and let us know what to expect. We are looking forward to our next visit.

While driving to the clinic, I received a voicemail shortly before the appointment time stating that Dr. Stack would not be coming in and that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. By that point, I had already driven approximately 20 minutes to the clinic. Upon arrival, I informed the front desk that I was a first-time client and had just received the voicemail. I was told they could not see my pet and that the only option was to return at 2:00 PM the same day. No alternative scheduling options or accommodations were offered at that time. I understand that unexpected situations can occur. However, for clients with limited availability, being notified at the last minute and asked to return several hours later may not be feasible. As a caregiver for a family member with dementia, my schedule requires careful planning. I decided to cancel the appointment and will not be returning. I am sharing this experience so others are aware that last-minute cancellations may occur and that same-day accommodations may be limited.

It is just a place run by and for cat lovers. They are folks who truly understand and appreciate cats and all their quirks. I love going here! Dr. Barkley and Dr. Rataj are the most honest and kind vets I have ever visited. They communicate promptly about test results and inquiries via email and leave detailed texts when necessary as well. I appreciate that both she and Dr. Rataj are so open about sharing information. My husband and I always make comfortable, informed decisions. And their entire staff is stellar. Teri at the front desk is always friendly, helpful and fun (and purple!). Deb, Megan and Amanda really know my cat, Zumbie, and have all kinds of pet names for him. It means a lot to walk in and everyone is happy to see you and your cat! Recently, I had to put my cat, Jitters, to sleep due to a condition he was suffering from that had turned untreatable. Dr. Barkley explained clearly what the options were in a realistic and sympathetic manner. I felt secure about my decision to let Jitters go unlike some other unnamed vets I have used in the past. Teri came in before the procedure so I could get all the billing taken care of without having to stop at the desk on the way out. All About Cats sent me a wonderful card signed by the whole staff. If you are seeking a cat vet, you can't do better than All About Cats. They are the best! Hurry up, make an appointment already.

With an "appointment" it was still a 2+ hour wait. The waiting room was just as chaotic, everyone seemed to be running around like headless chickens. Absolutely nothing is streamlined there and it's even worse now. The vet refused to look at my dog's records when asking questions, even though the dates they were asking about were in there and I couldn't recall them off the top of my head. And since they wouldn't look at the records, they decided it would be good to go ahead and just order labs/tests that my dog just had a few months earlier. Why? I'm sorry but that's not the way medical care should be provided. It's not about the money, I would have paid it if we needed to do it but they just refused to take the 2 minutes to look at the records in their system to confirm it had already been done. They were incredibly dismissive of my concerns that I did bring up too. Overall, the quality has gone from bad to worse.
